- During a recent media preview of the 2024 Ford Ranger, Jill Ciminillo took a deep dive look at the interior of the new midsize truck. Previously, she had a less than favorable review. Has her opinion changed with the new generation?

This looks to be much better than the taco. Lots of engine choices, way better payload, better towing nice seat heaters. I had the rx350 the seat heaters were terrible. They would warm up and then quickly cool off like wtf
I like the Aussie styling of the Ranger. It’s also fairly roomy inside. The Taco back seat is too small.
@@user-tb7rn1il3q I believe ranger is tied if not best in class for rear seat legroom
Jill, just found you had your own channel .
The two big fails on the new Ranger are the one piece rear bench and no automatic awd except the Raptor.
Thanks for finding me. ❤️ Trying to start building out this channel as well. And yes to your fails. The one piece bench is awkward. And hoping they’ll make the auto 4WD available on other trims at some point. 🤞
Nice review. Had a Ranger Lariat at our auto show. Seats were really comfortable. Would like to have rear coil springs in the Lariat as well as the Raptor.
Most users would buy a lower trim for most towing or serious hauling in a mid size truck. Vertical screen isn't too bad. Don't look at it that often anyway.
I actually love the vertical screen. It looks way better integrated instead of looking old or like someone glued on a tablet on top of the center console. Nicest interior in my opinion. Might only be second to the Canyon.
The fact that a 10 inch screen comes standard is outstanding. Sync4 and wireless everything with a charger too?
Beats the hell out of Tacoma which tries too hard and looks cluttered.
Love this redesign. Modern, comfortable, spacious.
The problem I have with the vertical screens is that it's like a cellphone held vertically. Great for texting and data use but crappy for video. Well, today's screens are primarily for displaying cameras and navigation. The horizontal is better, like Ford's other products. GM did it best and the Toyota sticks up to high.
@@Dusdaddy are you watching videos while driving?
@@marklihsu I mean the stock camera images. They make the image bigger and clearer when it's landscape vice portrait. Especially with the off-road and towing images.
Good Evening Jill! Thank you for reviewing this vehicle. I have two questions for you. Firstly, did you find the overall build quality and finish as solidly executed as the interior? Secondly, do you know if the "Ambient Lighting" [at night] offered for the front passengers extends to the rear passengers? Kindly, Graham.
I did find the build quality overall to be solidly executed. Unfortunately I’m not sure about the ambient lighting. I’ll be sure to check it out when I get it as a test car for a full review.
@@jillciminillo Thank you for your reply Jill. I hadn't known about your own channel until recently [as I'm used to see you and Tim together]. That said I wish you continued success. Kindly, Graham.
@@grahamsteen7984 thank you!
nice review!
Too bad they left out the 4Auto. Big miss to have it only on the Raptor.
Nice job Jill. I'm still not a fan of the vertical screen but nice that they didn't cover the interior with the piano black. Good to point out some of those options in the settings. Very surprised that they allow you to deselect adaptive cruise. Is that common with other Ford products?
I'm honestly not sure about the ACC in other Ford products, but I'd make the assumption that if it's in one ... it's in more than one. I've honestly never seen it before, and frankly I'm an ACC fan, and I find it weird that people would want to turn it off. But they do. 🤷🏻♀
@@jillciminillo Agreed, if it were me, ACC would be as standard as back-up cameras and keyless sentry/start.
It can be switched to regular cruise on my Outback. I sort of assumed that all makes would let you switch. There are pros and cons for each.
Have you compared the XLT interior to the Lariat? Specifically the comfort of the cloth seats to the leather?
I did a comparo video on TikTok, but it was too long for UA-cam shorts. I actually think the cloth seats are really comfortable.
@@jillciminillo Thanks. Do you have a link to that?

Air ventilation is routed under the front seats, like many cars.
Everyone talks about the rear air vents but in my opinion the rear seats not being split 60:40 is a bigger bummer.
Also with regard to the air vents, you’re not really putting passengers in the back of a midsize truck, so 🤷🏻♀️
@@jillciminillothere is air vents under the seat. Not sure why they wouldn’t put them in here in the uk this is standard and actually even the first gen ranger had them. Bit odd not to have them .
@@Crsf84 i’m sure they’re there, but what people want is air vents that they can put air on their faces, so something on either the B pillars or the back of the center console.
@@jillciminillowhy can’t they work for a family of 4? Is the new ranger not comfortable enough?
@@jillciminillo you can see the vents under the seat in the vid, I own one of these in the uk and there is air in the centre .
You seem to present your opinions very unclearly for a video.
