  • Sometimes you stumble upon amazing works of engineering that have long since been abandoned by human beings in your travels, and in many cases, that changes nothing in the exquisite craftsmanship, engineering and beauty that lies wide open for the occasional traveler who walks off the regular path in life. Sometimes the solitude actually enhances such a location. Such that it was for this work of industrial-age art outside of Leavittsburg, Ohio, along an abandoned rail line that we went down in search of old rail relics. Once this trestle carried countless tons of freight to its destination, most likely in nearby Youngstown, and now it sits straddling the Mahoning River like an old retired woodsman protecting his domain. Enjoy the walkthrough we did of this magnificent old bridge! -Mr. P.
