How much money was recently reported as being wasted by the school district? More than enough to handle all of these schools. Perhaps the school district could at a minimum cut the grass, secure the buildings, cut down the trees growing up against the buildings, and make the place look decent? How come one brick falls off of a private citizen's building and the fire chief is screaming to demolish it but these buildings which are a true nuisance and danger are allowed to slip by because they're government owned? Maybe all those cops they've got harassing people over minor problems in their yards could go get the log out of the city's own eye first.
They should take those schools and turn them into housing, Take the money, invest it, and turn them into complete housing facilities. I went to Adams, and Princeton for awhile, graduated from South High School, and all of these building have much more to offer, with gyms, auditoriums, and possibly pools. Good luck.
Find investors to restore and repurpose these structures. Always the catch all excuse, " it's too far gone!" There will be 0 history left in this place. Utterly pathetic.
Yeah after sitting for years it’s now a waste, politics making excuses for all their shortcomings. Nobody is going to use those schools for anything considering the cost involved.
This is what our tax dollars should be going to. I don’t understand how politicians can justify sending our hard-earned money to other countries. That’s OUR money that they’re taking from us.
Give the homeless care and shelter in these places

Give Youngstown a building and they will eventually after the right people get paid turn it into a pile of bricks.
i disagree. that building does not need to be torn down.
Don't forget to pay your taxes...other countries are depending on it.
They should sell the buildings so that people can turn them into mansion homes or apartments!
