I shoot a recurve, been using cheap wooden arrows to practice with....because if i buy expensive ones n lose em in the grass or woods while practicing ill be pissed lol...
I bought carbon express arrows from Walmart the terminator pass throughs and speed freaks and they work as well as my bemans or eastons but I would buy expensive arrows for target archery
Average bowhunter probably shouldn't be taking shots at deer past 25 yards. I would say put broadhead of choice on arrow, shoot at a full size deer target and if it's accurate enough to keep them in the vitals the arrows are good for the money.
I bought the mossy oak ones after shooting my fmjs into the woods...I cut them down ..squared the ends...installed the inserts and they shot great out to 70yds
@@voxpopuli905 the fmjs were my first take on heavy setups..mine were like 672ish gr with a 235gr single bevel up front...next set is gonna be some 300 bemans with 100gr of brass.
@@voxpopuli905 well watching his channel and then reading ashby sealed it...I just went with a heavy shaft out of the gate as compared to lighter shaft more front weight lol
New subscriber here, and I love your vids!! Keep up the great work!! For arrows i use to use easton fmj but they were super heavy and expensive, so i just switched to Black Eagle Carnavors and they seem like really good arrows for about 65 for half dozen which I guess is about in the middle of the road as far as price is concerned.
@@HaxenHunt yeah I shoot an elite energy 35 with a 31" draw, and at 60lbs with the new black eagle arrows it choreograph at 283 fps. With my older heavy FMJ arrows at 70lbs I was shooting about 260fps. The old arrows were 517 grains and the new ones are 390 grains lol. Arrows make a big difference for sure!!
Bought a dozen on Amazon for like $20. Got some carbon express from cabelas for $70 (6 arrows). The Amazon arrows hit harder and cut through wind better than the expensive arrows. Practicing in all weather for bow hunting.
I shoot the mossy oaks, they’re decent arrows, still get a bad one here and there due to them being cheap arrows of corse but, I got my first bow kill with one and it’s ready to do it again so I can’t complain for $5 but I found that the mossy oak 500 shoot better off my bow, idk if they’re marked wrong or what but the 500 shot better than the 350 out of my 65lb draw bow
No not saying Mossy Oak makes cheap or bad things at all! I love Mossy Oak! Just saying that a $5 arrow is cheap compared to a $30 arrow! And just wanted to see if the expensive ones actually made a difference!
Gotta adjust your D loop to the diameter of the arrow. $5 dollars per arrow you got to expect inconsistencies. Definitely what I’d use for gophers and porcupines pest control etc
If you got 1 or 12 arrows than can hold an inch or 4 inch group at 30 yards youl bring meat home.. don't let preference suffocate your spirit on taking game.. a key word is practice.. even if you KNOW your a slayer... Practice anyway. These cheaper arrows work. They do.. don't feel bad. Even the pricey high end guys find things to complain about with their high dollar equipment daily... Set your sights.. make sure your broad heads are sharp, and go bring some meat home. Camo don't matter either.. I get my stuff at Walmart and kill game YEARLY.. camo prices don't matter either..
Not a good test. You need to adjust yourself and feel the arrow. You need to shoot at least 200-300 times and then to switch to high quality ones. By doing that you can really feel the difference in a shot and quality. Especially in first few shots with high quality ones. This is bad test.(just saying)
honestly this experiment is not quite precise. The arrow weight matters a lot but was not measured, so can't compare different type of arrows. even for the same type of arrows, the spine is not matching for the bow perfectly and arrows are not tuned (at least paper tuned if not bare shaft), so there will be deviation from different distances even with the same arrow (even with expensive arrows)
sight your bow in first..the mossyoak which are victory arrows will shoot 1 inch group at 50 yards..all day long and will kill any animal on the planet they are tuff..hint after bow season 1.50 each..mark my word they will shoot as good as any arrow you put up aginst it..

Sight the bow in so the test are atleast fair! I mean come on that's shooting 101
I get what you mean but I’m not lookin to get a bullseye just focusing on the groups
As long as he's aiming at the same point every time. He's measuring precision, not accuracy.
@@zechariahnash8801 You can't measure accuracy if you lose the arrows because you can't hit the target.
I agree
Yeah I agree too😂 I rushed this video waaaay to bad! I should’ve put in the time to make it better! I’ll have to do another series and redo it!

What diameter inserts you need for the mossy oaks?

So you shoot indoor or 3D if so what bows do you use and gear for each.
I locked your video before it even started cause your intro was so good😊
For shooting deer from a tree stand or blind I don’t think arrows matter to much

My lord...we have carbon arrows and people bitch the arrows aren't straight enough. I wonder what people complained about in the Middle Ages.
How did the wolverines fair after losing them

one other thing if you shoot trad bow try the wolverine with feathers you wont be sorry..
The fletchings on the kryptos always broke on me .. but the mossy oak and and wolverines seemed to be actually a pretty nice arrow for the price
I had that issue so i just started fletching them myself work well

U should point the camera at the target and film the arrow in flight. That way we can see how they fly and u might see where they land
I’m 15 and been shooting for 3 years and I had some Walmart arrows and they aren’t bad 🤷♂️
Heck ya!!
If they do , they’ve put down a lot of deer. They’re not eastons but they get it done close range .

Hurt a lot of people’s feelings shooting those tight groups with $5 arrows 😂 like the man himself cam Hanes says “equipment doesn’t make the archer”
So how are you liking your new release?
which arc model are you using?
Sorry not sure on the arc model.. can you explain a little more?
Prob the good companies arrows that didn’t make tolerances of .001 . Prob .002 -.004
Love your vids
