thank you for just using the x100vi for the entirety of this video. It drives me nuts when these other reviewers mix their other cameras with the camera theyre actually reviewing!
As someone who shoots point and shoot film camera, the hobby is getting more and more expensive that sometimes i cant justify the developing prices anymore especially where i live. Lately I've been craving my hobby again and was looking for a camera that gives the same vibe as my film camera and you just gave me the perfect camera. It's not cheap but in the long run this will be an investment for me. Thank you so much for showing pictures and video and using solely the X100VI. The production quality is great which made me instantly subscribe. Thank you again Mr. Spitz.
I own this camera as well and the images it produces are just amazing! But the best thing about this camera that it makes you wanna go out and actually use it because it‘s so light and takes away a lot of friction from the shooting process. You don‘t have to decide which lens to use, you don‘t have to bring a heawy bag when shooting and you can use the Film Simulations if you don‘t wanna edit the photos afterwards. Great video btw. my eyes were glued to the screen😅
I have not watched a single other review of this camera… but I think yours is by far the best. I always love seeing cameras in action and being shown what they’re capable in different use cases as opposed to just hearing a list of the specs. Thanks for a great video! The photos & video clips both looked stunning!
The images and colour reflect the creator's tone; it is very nice and subtle. I have had this camera since February. I am still learning, but I am constantly surprised by what it can do. Agree that it is worth every penny and is a keeper (just like my old Lumix LX3s and Fuji X100F).

Hey, really appreciate that. I do all of my color grading in DaVinci resolve, just building the node tree based on the look I'm going for. Working on some future material regarding color grading - hopefully dropping this summer, so keep an eye out for that if you're interested. 🫶
Man what a beautiful video! You've single-handedly got me looking into getting this camera. The point about it being discrete in public really resonated with me. Also I've seen a few others bring it up but wanted to say it as well, a video on your grading would be awesome, looking forward to it! Thanks!
I absolutely LOVE your video language. Also that you incorporate outdoor shots into your videos. I love how James Popsys is doing this, standing outside and we watch him actually use the gear while he talks about gear and photography. Had a similar vibe here, and I love the atmosphere in the photos. Instantly ran to the subscribe button :D
Awesome video. I agree with another comment I read about how you used just the x100vi for the entire video. It really shows what the camera is capable of.
Can I just say your videos are amazing and so inspiring. Your eye, the way you view things, the colors, it’s beautiful. I am going to get my first Fujifilm soon and your videos just make me even more excited! :)
Hey Mr. Spitz! I honestly just got this camera few days ago after waiting months and getting notifications this camera was on backorder. I went through so many videos about this camera and seeing the results it pushes out until I saw yours. Honestly, been feeling like if this was worth the wait and purchase of this camera but your video and photos got me feeling like it was the right move. Trying to get myself out of the burn out from photo work and been finding the right camera for every day use. Thank you for sharing this video! Got me in the drive to take this camera every where I go and shoot everything I experience!
Hey there! I really appreciate the kind words, I'm happy you enjoyed the video! Yesss, that's what it's all about - getting out there and enjoying yourself. 🙌
7:50 - I would hang that image on the wall right now! Rich moody green colors, great pic and it's more amazing that it's from such a small camera's video. So happy it's on order, wish it was in my hands already. Would love to see more content created with the x100vi.
ahhh thanks so much, that means a lot! I'll probably carry it with me often, so I'm sure you'll see more from it in the future when I'm in the mood to shoot digital stuff.
As always, incredible work! Your photo and video content is consistently some of my favorite stuff out there - super refined and tasteful. Thank you for taking the time to put this together for our collective enjoyment 🙏🏻
Great stuff. Always inspired after watching your videos. The colours! This camera is a great little package especially, as you’ve proven here, in the right hands.
@@serjanmidili1176 It's funny how I paid more attention to the video than to the food I was eating. Lol. I hope the video and your lunch were enjoyable!
Several things that would be helpful...(1) did you use any film simulations and if so, what were they in relation to the images and video, (2) I'd like to see the before lightroom and after lightroom images to understand how much post processing there was and (3) the lightroom settings for each photo
I just purchased this camera and im excited to see what i can make with it, definitely the biggest purchase ive made so far since im still a college student lol, but im excited to take it around with me and just record my life :)) (i hope my parents wont be mad)
Hey again, Dylan! Fantastic review, and on a separate note; you’re such an incredibly skilled photographer/videographer! I’ve found quite a nice deal for a X100VI, so tomorrow is the day! I will absolutely be getting your presets, they are phenomenal!
been wanting to get the x100v for so long, but haven't been able to find one for second hand at a justifiable price point. might try looking out for the x100vi, great review. lovely pictures and videos.
Definitely would recommend the VI over the V - I've had the F, V, VI and they're all great cameras but even just having IBIS is an upgrade worth paying for (imo). Thanks for watching, really appreciate the kind words!
New subscriber here! Ordered mine on 2/20 and last week B&H notified me to expect it in mid October. Bought a Leica Q2 for my summer travels, leaving all the Fuji bodies at home . Also just ordered a GFX 100 II. After using my first Fuji x camera, I traded all of my Canon gear and never regretted it.
i love this camera so much. luckily i got mine right at launch (thanks Hitomi) and i have been attached to it since i got it. it works for me since i have an xt20 with a 24mm that i never took off of it.
Thank you, Dylan for this review. Its been a dream of mine to have a X100V but with the high volume of sales and the camera being out of stock, comes the X100vi and I've pre-ordered the camera right away and I cannot wait for it to arrive! This video review got more excited!
Incredible video, well done, sir! It makes me want to buy this camera, but I also have to realize that my photos and videos won't be this good because it's not all about the gear...it's about your skill in editing and putting it all together so beautifully.
Thank you so much for the compliment, super kind of you! At the end of the day, yeah, you're correct. The camera is just a tool and we should use different ones for different situations as we see fit. Or just use what you enjoy. Cheers, Jeff.
Thank you for sharing. The content in this video shows exactly what this camera is made for. If I didn't own this camera yet, I would have made my purchase decision after watching this video! Great pictures, aesthetic video footage, very talented. Keep it up!
Actually, what I want to ask is, which camera was used to shoot the video, not the photo, because the photos look incredibly bright and I don't like such bright photos, but the parts you show with the video are incredibly beautiful. Which camera did you shoot the video with and are you using the camera's own presets or did you edit the colors with a program?
Been waiting for this video for some time now. Damn, it was worth the wait! That intro definitely gave me the chills. Really nice shots man, at this point it doesn't even matter what you shoot with really, because your shots are always so, so good. Keep it up!! 👏🏻 I almost canceled my pre-order last week > watched your video > happy I didn't, hahah.
I know, it took me a while to have enough experience and time with the camera to put something together worth everyone's time! Hahaha I am so happy the intro hit you that way, I really was having fun there (even got the wife to help me haze the room for those sillouhette shots 😂). Anywho, thanks so much for the support and coming to watch so quickly - means a lot! Hopefully you'll get your camera soon.
I absolutely love my X-T3 but I’ve been looking at the X100 lineup. You’re the first person to mention that the rear screen doesn’t tilt in vertical orientation. That’s a deal breaker for me. Glad I watched your video. Maybe the X100VII will have that 👍🏼
Stunning! brought tears to my eyes looking at those gorgeous videos and photos. Thanks for showcasing your work and how this camera can be flexible even with that fixed lens. Instant subscribe :)
Beautiful work, Dylan! I’ve been exploring new compact cameras/reviews for the first time in years, and this is the only video where the reviewer is both a talented photographer and DP. You really have a good eye and solid post skills, my dude. Some epic shots in there! Fuji better reach out to you. Most cinematic review ever!!!
Ah wow, thank you so much for that! Really appreciate the compliment. Hahaha, never know what the future holds I guess. I’d love to try that GFX 100 S II out… Cheers, man!
Been waiting for you to post again! Inspiring stuff as always, whenever I think of someone having an eye for art and photography, it's you! Great as always dude!
Thanks! Ah yeah, totally understand that. Unfortunately it wouldn’t be profitable for me to build them for another program right now but you never know in the future!
best user review! I like how the video is solely using the VI. I got my VI on the release date. However, I am struggled to make nice video with this one. Took it to Florence italy for some video shooting and the result looks really bad. It would be nice to have guide to make videos with the VI. Set up and angles.
Thanks! Exciting times getting a new camera. I actually have my editing system available on my website, which comes with a bunch of documentation and a video walkthrough! Link is in the description. 👍
We just got ours two weeks ago that we ordered back in March. We're thinking it is going to change our lives for the better. Where do you get your music? Thank you for this video.
I’m sure it will! It’s a great little camera. I write the intro music (in this video it’s the first 2 songs) but after that I source them from epidemic sound.
this is related but also unrelated, it is really nice to see another photographer from EASTERN washington instead of the other side, and you have given me new inspiration! i grew up right next to oaksdale so seeing it in this video was a shock in the best way. seeing other locations that i have been to is really awesome as well. keep it up!! would love to go out and shoot some time
such a great video dude! still waiting on my preorder lol. The video examples are top notch and some of the best I've seen from the countless reviews I've watched already. Would love to see a video about your color grading as well if you have the time.
Much appreciated! Really glad you enjoyed it - I have some things in the works regarding grading, just trying to carve out the time. Thanks for the kind words, hope you get your camera soon!
Awesome as always, all really incredible shots and video here. I had the x100T a few years back and I do miss it especially the portability.. Just went from XT2 to using the XH2 right now and even that is quite a jump in size.
Love the whole video, the intro .. video shots and photos as well. Someday, Would love to see a video on your editing workflow, how you do color grading etc. Thanks!
Thank you! I really appreciate that 😊. The video walkthrough included with my preset system on my website is probably the closest I'll ever get to an editing video for now. Just not something that I want to spend my small amount of spare time doing if I'm being honest. I do appreciate your interest, though! Means a lot. 🫶
haha nice! Glad I'm not the only one who watches UA-cam (exclusively) in the living room/theater setup. Appreciate the kind words, thanks for taking the time 🙌
@@DylanSpitz had to give this one a second viewing on the big screen… damn son! Such a killer set of photos paired with some dreamy visuals. Oh and the auditory experience is top notch as well. Chefs kiss man!!
i used the x100 V for a season, but desperately wanting a camera to shoot video and stills with, the lack of IBIS made so many of my vids unusable (esp shooting while driving). i kinda just ruled out any new x100 as overhyped (though pretty). but seeing your video footage with the VI you're making me reconsider grabbing this camera again. great review and the only one kind that really matters since all tech specs on new cameras should be competitive.
Thanks for the kind words! Yeah, I’m with ya - the lack of IBIS and 8-bit video codec on the V were a bummer. Crazy to think now it can actually be a hybrid camera at that size.
I'd be curious to try that out, for sure! Not a huge fan of adding a lens to the tiny camera, though...to me that's the real reason it stands out. Once it can't fit in my pocket anymore I'd probably be more likely to just carry my sony system.
Thank you! I don’t use them other than just switching the vibe of what I’m previewing while shooting. For that purpose I like the nostalgic negative and astia usually.
Hey Dylan, absolutely loved your video, and particularly the video samples! Would you mind quickly sharing some of your settings/tips for shooting video? My FLog2 footage in ISO 1250 seems much noisier than yours, and it's frustrating because I can see how beautiful your image quality is!
Hey! Thanks for the compliment. I just shoot in full manual, 6.2K at base ISO in the 10 bit H.265 codec. Definitely be careful not to underexpose or it doesn’t hold up well.
Amazing Review. The best one on the X100VI actually. Love to see more from you mate. Did you also grade the video footage via Lightroom with your preset?
Awesome pictures and colors. There is bo way I can afford that camera. Is there an app that can emulate the recipes? Or a camera thar is similar to x100?
Thanks! The good news for you is that none of these photos are using any recipes at all. The look comes from my editing preset system for Lightroom - and it works with pretty much any camera that can shoot in a raw image format. 🤘
I like the aesthetic appeal of these pictures but please educate me. Can't we achieve the same results with RAW pictures taken from another camera and applying a Lightroom preset (which I'm sure is out there)?
Definitely the best review of this camera. Love the footage! Finally could get my hands on one. What SD card do you use with yours in terms of size and speed for photos and video? and how much pictures / 6k video can you get on that specific card size? I'm eyeing towards a v60 128gb card because of the UHS-I limitation and price combo, have enough space for video and also have a bit faster offload speeds for the 6k video files.
dude you're like the Peter McKinnon of Fuji, hope you take with as much gratitude as I mean it to be. Any chance you drop some video LUTs for us mere mortals haha. I try to shoot JPG with film recipes but I'd consider picking up a pack of your photo presets bc they're so good.
Beautiful stuff as always Dylan! I'm living vicariously through you until my camera eventually ships. I plan on using it exactly as you are so this review was absolutely perfect for me. Thank you 😆
Really appreciate the kind words Jason! I guess I got pretty lucky getting mine so fast, as most others seem to be waiting. Glad you enjoyed the video, cheers!
Hello. I just received a X100vi. I haven't taken photographs for the last 15 years (except iPhones...), and I am really happy and excited to get back into it. Now that I have this, I'm considering switching it for the X-T5 (or even x-T50)... but your last year's review of X100v vs x-T5, makes me wonder. So you never use the x100vi simulation films, you edit everything on LR right? Seeing this video, I just want to go outside and shoot, but living in Paris, it's hard to find such landscapes. Merci for your work.
Thank you for the compliments! Hopefully you are enjoying the new camera. Yes, I shoot everything in raw and edit in Lightroom. My preset system is available on my website if you’re interested. Thanks again, have fun out there 🤘

Thanks! Exciting times getting a new camera. I actually have my editing system available on my website, which comes with a bunch of documentation and a video walkthrough! Link is in the description. 👍
Such a Special vibe man. Almost meditative. Great stuff!
Really love that feedback, thank you so much!
Such a joy watching your work! Very inspiring as well! Cheers from the Netherlands 🙌🏻
Thank you my friend!
Been waiting for mine from BH since a launch day preorder was placed, this is one of the loveliest videos I’ve seen on it 👏🔥
Thanks so much! Hopefully yours gets there soon 🤘
Thank you for your content Dylan. I totally loved your photographies, the same with the rhythm and tempo of the video. You have a new subscriber.
Really happy that you enjoyed it! Thanks for the kind words and for supporting the channel 🫶
I am so mermerize with the color of the photos and videos. Do you happen to sell some of the filters and luts?
Hey there! Thank you so much for the kind words. I have a photo editing preset system available on my website - link is in the description!
This is actually the first video I’m watching about this camera haha😂🙏🏼✨
Teo I am HONORED buddy. 😅
this is related but also unrelated, it is really nice to see another photographer from EASTERN washington instead of the other side, and you have given me new inspiration! i grew up right next to oaksdale so seeing it in this video was a shock in the best way. seeing other locations that i have been to is really awesome as well. keep it up!! would love to go out and shoot some time
No way! Haha, such a small world sometimes. Easy to feel like there's nothing left to shoot here, but it's always worth going out anyways!
The colors are amazing on both photo and video. Great work!
Thanks so much!
My two month review:
Thank you Fujifilm. Literally, the best camera only found on the internet.
😂🤘
thank you dylan, much appreciated, i love that fuji finally enabled more aspect ratios
Appreciate you watching!
such a great video dude! still waiting on my preorder lol.
Beautiful video. I'm glad I followed the trail of X100VI videos to find you. haha.
Hey, thanks! I’m glad too 😂
Awesome as always, all really incredible shots and video here. I had the x100T a few years back and I do miss it especially the portability.. Just went from XT2 to using the XH2 right now and even that is quite a jump in size.
Thanks a lot!
Such a good video, Dylan! Can't believe I just discovered your channel
Ah thank you so much! Welcome, haha.
Beautiful photos and video here - your processing is super pleasing for my eyes. Great job here. PS. I watched the video on my 85 inch 4k tv
haha nice! Glad I'm not the only one who watches UA-cam (exclusively) in the living room/theater setup. Appreciate the kind words, thanks for taking the time 🙌
Loved this. Thanks for the info/sharing the experience.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you 🙏
Thank you for investing your free time to provide us with a very educational review. xo
Really appreciate that, happy to hear you enjoyed it.
Definitely worth the wait!! Of all the X100VI vids, this one does the camera justice. IBIS seems like more of a game changer than people let on.
Wow, thank you so much for that! Yessss, IBIS really made the other features of the camera come alive and form a unique little powerhouse.
@@DylanSpitz had to give this one a second viewing on the big screen… damn son! Such a killer set of photos paired with some dreamy visuals. Oh and the auditory experience is top notch as well. Chefs kiss man!!
@@RolandKaufmann duuuuuuude totally feeling the love! Good day, today. You’re the man 🫡
I loved this video, thanks for sharing! The photos you took are so nice, the one at 8:54 is my favourite!
i used the x100 V for a season, but desperately wanting a camera to shoot video and stills with, the lack of IBIS made so many of my vids unusable (esp shooting while driving). i kinda just ruled out any new x100 as overhyped (though pretty). but seeing your video footage with the VI you're making me reconsider grabbing this camera again. great review and the only one kind that really matters since all tech specs on new cameras should be competitive.
Thanks for the kind words! Yeah, I’m with ya - the lack of IBIS and 8-bit video codec on the V were a bummer. Crazy to think now it can actually be a hybrid camera at that size.
For video maybe consider getting the WCL ii 18mm adapter lens. It would give you a touch wider field of view and doesn't add too much weight or size.
I'd be curious to try that out, for sure! Not a huge fan of adding a lens to the tiny camera, though...to me that's the real reason it stands out. Once it can't fit in my pocket anymore I'd probably be more likely to just carry my sony system.
I love your video so much, thanks for sharing your lovely moments. What’s your favorite film situation?
Thank you! I don’t use them other than just switching the vibe of what I’m previewing while shooting. For that purpose I like the nostalgic negative and astia usually.
amazing video Dylan! love the feel of these shots. been loving the presets so much!
Thank you, Rick! Soooo happy that you're enjoying the presets! Love to hear it 🥳
Hey Dylan, absolutely loved your video, and particularly the video samples!
Had to give this another watch. Great stuff Dylan.
Really appreciate you!
great video awesome locations can't wait for mine to finally arrive
Thank you! Ahhh yes, I hope it arrives soon for ya 🤘
Amazing Review. The best one on the X100VI actually. Love to see more from you mate.
Did you also grade the video footage via Lightroom with your preset?
Ah thank you! Video was graded in resolve 🤘
Came for the camera, leave with many great tracks. Thank you for the music.
Haha alright I’ll take that! Cheers
Thank you for the honest review. The video colors are so good! Is it straight out of camera? If so, which color profile were you using?
Okay I just had to rewatch, F-log, can you shed your secret to how you colour graded it?
Thanks! Just graded in resolve using basic tools like primaries, curves, etc.
Loved the look of your colours in the photo and video, subscribed for life and thanks for the presets!
I will start doing videos also from my XT4.
Thank you so much for the support! 🫶
Loved your shots and framing 😍
Glad you liked it!!
Great video. I'm curious about 24fps was it with a film simulation ? They look so good. Please share
Hey there, it was shot in FLog2 and graded in resolve. No use of any built in film sims.
I like the aesthetic appeal of these pictures but please educate me. Can't we achieve the same results with RAW pictures taken from another camera and applying a Lightroom preset (which I'm sure is out there)?
Yeah, absolutely! The system I've created (13:13) is designed for use with all major camera manufacturers. 🫶
The intro feels like a GXAce homage. Great review, thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Love your stuff man, presets are a bit out of my price rage atm but I hope they sell well! Hope you see more stuff from you soon.
Appreciate that! Working on more videos as we speak, more home developing this week 🫠
Thanks! I use a 128gb Sony Tough Card - v60, M type
Seems like a perfect setup
Thank you for review. Could you make a video about your synths? They blink so hypnotically.
Uhhhhh 100000% yes. ❤️
dude you're like the Peter McKinnon of Fuji, hope you take with as much gratitude as I mean it to be. Any chance you drop some video LUTs for us mere mortals haha. I try to shoot JPG with film recipes but I'd consider picking up a pack of your photo presets bc they're so good.
Haha thanks for that! Pete seems like a cool dude. There is definitely a very good chance of that happening soon-ish 👀.
Thanks again, have fun out there 🤘
Did you colorgrade to get that look or does it come with preselect option within the camera? Love your video btw!
Thanks! I color graded all the footage.
Such good pictures and moving frames Dylan. Always in awe with your work
very kind, thank you so much!
