I remember that line from Mansion, but I had a little trouble seeing the dark screen in the room we were in. I'll be watching out for this my next watch!
"Only person I judge is the one in the mirror and lately he ain't doing well. I don't need y'all in my ear." That line gives me goosebumps. I've looked in the mirror when I wasn't doing well. It's hard to get out of your own head. Other NF fans will call me crazy but this is my favorite Intro. It's raw, aggressive, and emotional. Love it! Great reaction! Keep them coming!
NF has a mental breakdown after this album and starts The Search explaining it and mentions it in HOPE as he is back in his Mansion revisiting rooms as he has his epic battle with dark thoughts Nate (the devil in his ear) on the mountain top at the end saying 30 years of.... 30 times exercizing his demons through HOPE of things to come.... I have also heard this is INTRO 1 beat in reverse as NF says '..;) 'This flow is familiar, I think I heard it before Oh yeah, I made it myself'
I believe that his breakdown was after the massive success of perception and it left him feeling hopeless, because after all that success he still felt the same.
@@Exavias agreed I was referencing the lyrics in the song The Search not the album also who knows how long NF was struggling with a mental overload prior to getting a therapist to help? peace ;)
FYI: you're on the album that has How Could You Leave Us. Have tissue ready and one thing I can tell you about that track is.... I heard that at the end of How Could You Leave Us, he had people leave the studio so that he could record it on his own. He himself got really emotional at the very end. Not sure if you caught it but on one of the walls of this white house he was in, there was writing spray painted on the wall "How Could You Leave Us"
I'm so excited for you both to continue through NF's journey. You're starting to pick up on things and beginning to ask the right questions as you reflect. It'll be great to see you react to songs later in his discography after you've understood his story. Especially re-watching the Hope music video and picking up on all of the imagery/callbacks. Subbed and here for it!!!
That makes sense. I guess I was a little unsure due to the picture of the mansion on the Mansion album being etched in my mind as the mansion. But I also suppose it can change over time.
Some people think of a fancy building when they here the word Mansion. I think of the haunted mansion 😮. There are a lot of rooms, but many are dark and with cobwebs!! Therapy Session... A deep dive into others pain and trauma. Second hand trauma is something he now has to deal with 😢.
Totally got a bronze trophy for sticking around! Subbed to go through the journey with you, NF is amazing and I think you’ll get sucked in! Do you think you’ll do every song off the album and earn all the trophy’s? I feel like most of Therpy Session doesn’t have videos and gets skipped…
Thanks for earning the trophy! We don't have any specific plan necessarily, but we did all of Mansion and enjoyed that, so I suspect we may do all of the songs on this one as well. From what I hear they're all great, so why not?
i think the cat likes NF now. On a side note..if you like NF, you HAVE to do the Twenty One Pilots journey. NF was inspired by TOP's music and message. No profanity, but each of their songs has over like 100M views.
Yes! I've heard that before, and I (we) are almost certainly going to do that. I think my wife may know some of their music already, but at a minimum it will be new to me.
there are many callbacks and foreshadowing to songs. he's digging a hole to bury fear...Later in another song. Satan reference will come in Remember This
Great song. LOL....haha....yeah, I didn't like Discotheque either. Depeche Mode went down hill after the early 90's as well. Tears For Fears had some new releases and they just aren't as good as their 80's material. I think generally, NF gets better and better as time goes on.
I truthfully believe he was going through a lot of the issues he was talking about at the time of writing these songs… he has stated in interviews multiple times that he uses this as a coping mechanism. Also I have no clue.
The journey only gets better from here
Appreciate the reaction as always guys! The further you get, the more of your questions will be answered, especially on the search album.
He levels up on this Album… keeps getting better
digging in his yard with the shovel is important - remember that for Intro III
Thanks for the head's up!
The song titles on the walls are a callback to "Mansion"... "My mind is a house with walls covered in lyrics, they're all over the place..."
I remember that line from Mansion, but I had a little trouble seeing the dark screen in the room we were in. I'll be watching out for this my next watch!
, you'll definitely get your answer about how NF was doing during this time as you go through NF's albums!

Another great reaction 👍
Thank you!

I caught that he said he made it himself, but if it was Intro 1 backwards, I would never have caught that. And that's awesome!

Thank you for the warning. Sincerely.
Listen to this one on full blast with high quality headphones and then imagine seeing it at a live concert with a live orchestra. Nuts.
That sounds like the voice of experience!

I know we've got a ways to go, but I'm already looking forward to the Hope re-watch :-)
i have watched dozens of people on the journey. Looking forward to checking you guys out
Appreciate both of you! It's your channel , do your thing❤😂 This is a great album❤ Perception is my favorite!❤
Thanks!!
Always up to hear others thoughts on NF music.
I'll be waiting for my cobalt trophy! Great and much appreciated reaction yall! 🩸🗝😎
I'm proud of you! Thanks :)
Remember this last scene when you get to Intro 3
Therapy Session is intense song. watch out next
You two do your reactions the way you want to do them!
Ha - thanks!
That broken down house IS his mansion/mind. That’s how he sees it.
That makes sense. I guess I was a little unsure due to the picture of the mansion on the Mansion album being etched in my mind as the mansion. But I also suppose it can change over time.
the word i think you are looking for is bravado
Yes, that could be it!
The entire aearch album is him at a 20. One of the best CDs ive ever heard.
The therapy session is the music he writes.
The shovel is important in the future, so take note of it.
Thanks for the warning!

I thought of the fancy building on the mansion cover at the time (and think it was stuck in my head), but I see what you mean.

And yes, Ragnar seems to come running now every time we turn NF on :-)

You're my wife's people!
I truthfully believe he was going through a lot of the issues he was talking about at the time of writing these songs… he has stated in interviews multiple times that he uses this as a coping mechanism. Also I have no clue.
Oh, I'm sure he was!
just make sure you DO NOT do intro 3, until you do Outro. Its critical.
Thanks for the heads up! In the list we're working off of, Outro is just before Intro 3, so we should be safe, but it's good to have confirmation.
