Good job showing what this unit can do. Not endless waffle. Clear and to the point. Excellent footage too. I finally have a spare room to use as high tech workshop. It's not big. An all in one machine is appealing but fear they can do everything a little but are good at nothing. Lack of black ink for instance is a terrible oversight as it is likely the most used.
Thank you! If tuned right it can produce some really good results. I’d say the laser module which is the «main» module is pretty much like any other diode laser machine, but you have the benefit of having the other options also 😊 if you for example only need the laser it’s possible to get just a plain laser machine if that’s all you’re planning to use. I’m not 100% sure if the black module doesn’t work but I have not tested it so I can’t confirm whether or not it works. Though a HP62 inkjet module works as a replacement, I swapped mine for a tricolor one when my original one ran out. The HP62 is also available in a pure black so it might be possible, it’s just not tested and will probably just be a simple software update for xTool to make it work if they decide to do so. 😊
Definitely can. It’s on my future to-do list. However I can’t say exactly when I’ll get to that as I have a few projects already lined up. Probably not this year. Hopefully some time next year. 💪
Nice review, awesome to see you going into the review direction for makerstuff since 3D printing can only go so far and finally a review person I can trust. That said tho why does x tools require a usb dongle for the machine to work ? That’s such a big no no for me :(
Hey Tim! Thanks! And, the machine comes with more than one USB dongle though. I’m not sure why exactly they went for this but I’m guessing that it’s a safety thing as it’s intended for home use. Probably to have some kind of parental control to prevent your kids from playing with it etc as the laser can be dangerous if used wrong. Actually, something I forgot to mention is that the machine is packed with all kinds of sensors everywhere to prevent it from being able to operate if things aren’t attached correctly etc. So it’s clear to me that the machine is designed with safety in mind! 😊
I have different machines for doing each of these tasks. I don't know how annoying it would be having too change out head units/parts for different projects and not being able to run multiple jobs at the same time.
There are definitely pros and cons of having it all in one, and all separate machines. The main benefit of this particular machine is that it gives you a lot of functionality in a space efficient package. 😊
You swap out the inkjet cartridge like in a normal ink printer. You can either buy xTools own replacement. I also found out that a «HP 62 tricolor» inkjet cartridge fits and works on this machine. They seem to be identical and around the same price as xTools own cartridge (I have tested the HP 62 on mine and it worked perfectly fine)
The versatility of this machine is so good that it's something I may consider when I'll have more room.
Awesome Patrick! I’m glad to hear you like the machine! 😊
@makerunit is this one the 20 or 10 sorry I must have missed that part
@@MsAnna-jk9cd this one is the 20W laser version 😊
@ thanks I thought so
Im Sold ,so much modularity, the price aint too bad either
Given all the things it can do the price definitely isn’t too bad! 😊

Nice machine!
I’m glad you like it! 💪
Do you think that you could design a console style case that fits a standard atx mobo?
Definitely can. It’s on my future to-do list. However I can’t say exactly when I’ll get to that as I have a few projects already lined up. Probably not this year. Hopefully some time next year. 💪

@@makerunitYes definitely takes up less room. It will be interesting to see what you will do with the laser. Looking forward to it.
@@Darryl.M I'm currently working on a 3D printable PC case design that will use laser cut panels for the ventilation!
How do you replace the ink in the ink module?

It's a bit early for Christmas music don't you think? Music at 2:40 is 'Adeste Fidelis' lol
Oh really? I didn’t even know this was a christmas song! 😁 I guess christmas wishes come early this year.
What you see here …B Roll still on panning shot on grey wall.
What? Please explain in more detail what you mean? I’d love to hear some feedback on how to improve my video presentation 😊
Hi
Hey there! 😊
