Funny how the time just slips by, and suddenly it's 20 years later. It's unoriginal, sure, but where does the time go? Stumbled on this film cold, and it was five minutes in. I figured out they were running lines, but didn't know which were the lines of the play, and which the lines for the film. Binoche was brilliant, as usual. Stewart really can act, but she's got to quit talking so fast and mumbly; she's not a teeenager, and it doesn't work any more. The trailer seems to be for a different film, chock-full of Binoche's boobs, Stewart's ass, and Moretz's foul mouth. In actuality, the sex is nonexistent, the lesbian angle laughable, and Moretz's screen time is brief and her character vapid. Binoche's pygmalion-like affair with the original director of the play was barely touched on, despite being the catalyst for everything in this film. Instead, it's a story of two women's deepening friendship at a precarious time. The music is exquisite and moody, the Swiss Alp scenery breathtaking. Maybe you have to have lived at least 20 years to be able to get it. I'd give it five stars!
Kristen is speaking at a normal rate. To mumble you have to speak slowly. Speaking fast is just speaking fast. You just contradict yourself when you said she speaks fast and mumbly.

Sorry. She speaks the way a lot of gen-X'rs and millennials do, very fast and in a low tone. I'm from the south, we talk slowly and we hear slowly. I keep hoping that she's doing it as a trait for the character she's playing, but haven't heard her voice clearly yet. I do hope they teach her to speak properly in acting school. Are you a speech pathologist?
no i am not a speech pathologist. just a guy who hates when people contradict themselves. when you contradict yourself it makes people wonder about your intelligence. but I'm glad you in enjoyed the movie.
