I could listent to Peter all day
my wife cant 😂
😂😂😂
Love the video. So much of getting the job done is rolling up your sleeves and just doing the work. Recently, I was prepping for a job and I could have bought a pretty good piece of kit for it for $500. Instead I just built it myself from existing materials and it works exactly the way I want. Thanks for sharing your experiences and focusing on the fact that the most important piece of gear is the grey matter between the photographer's ears.
Thanks heaps
Have recently come across your Channel ..Very comforting your ideas are on Critique....Love the chemistry that you and Bec have ..I am currently watching your back Catalogue ....Truly Inspiring...
Welcome aboard thanks so much
Thanks for another great video Peter I'm learning a lot I put it to my weddings thanks again.
Thank you
Thank you Peter and Bec. From Pomton Lakes, NJ USA.
Backdrop reminds memories of school chalk board in thought areas 😉👍
Peter, I love watching your videos and have gotten so much inspiration from them. I have just watched this video on the painting of your walls and will watch the building video shortly. I love your studio and wish I had the space that you have. I have both the indoor studio but also 750' of lakefront on my property that I also use and I'll be using your technique on a new wall I'm painting.
I love your politics also Peter, your political correctness comments and Science Fiction analogy are right on point! And Bec, you add so much to the videos! I wish I could find an assistant/model that seems to be as much fun to work with as you!
Thank you so much :)
Your Channel is fab. I have just moved in to an industrial unit and a lot of your ideas is driving my inspiration on is build. Thank you. I love your movable walls. keep up the good work
Awesome! Thank you!
Hi Peter. Russia is watching you. New Urengoy city. Thank you very much for your work, this is inspiration !!!!!
Regards From Poland - nice to see You :)
This session was a great idea!!
Thanks Razor
Fantastic video as always guys . Thanks Regards André
Glad you enjoyed it
Again love watching you painting while philosophizing your way of working. Looking forward to seeing how you built the backdrops . Thanks
SNJacobson
Thank you very much, coming soon :)
dear Peter, I wanted to thank you for your tutorial, where you whitewash the floor of your studio with the white washable dye, so as to have total white, both on the wall and on the floor without detachments but as a whole round floor / wall that I never was managed to do.
You are very welcome
Love u, both!
This is fantastic! I love it. Now, I would like to make one for my studio 😀
Hi, 1st many thanks for your content I'm newbie photographer who's binge watching all your vids and learninv loads.
Quick question on the backgrounds does the join line between the ply boards cause any issues?
Yes sometimes
I agree about black and white, since looking at your stuff and doing some myself [plus Helmut Newton]... Also, the '...only women...' thing, I decided when I chose to take photography seriously to take portraits of women, same argument you have, plus time I'm getting a bit long in the tooth... I want to do what I like.
Yes you should do what you love :)
Have you ever used light room or photo shop or gimp thanks Paul great video Peter
Yes I haveYes I use Photoshop
That was a very nice show.
Thank you
I admire how you said you treat the models like your daughters and welcoming a chaperone. I think that is smart that you have the chaperone not hurt the ability to do the job though.
Thanks
Hello, Great video, the water spray on wet paint is genius, I love it! I'm curious about what peter meant by being able to play with RGB channels at 27mn, is he talking about sliders? In ACR there is the option to move the curves for each channel. (I'm not attached to ACR but unfortunately, I haven't been able to try much more yet)
Thanks, no I'm talking about channel mixer, I only know of 2 programs that have channel mixer in raw, Phocus and the old Aperture
@@PeterCoulsonPhotographer thanks for your answer, I'm not sure I get what you meant by that but I'll try and look in more details in one of your videos where you go deep in color grading.

The calendar is a great idea! I'd love to have one of yours in my company's headquarters instead of generic soulless calendars given by our suppliers. At my first job, we had a Pirelli calendar hanging on by the coffee machine and it made every morning cup of coffee so much better. I'm aware that shipping from Australia to Poland may be pricey, but hey - you only do it once a year, so... Count me in!
We'll try do a calendar for next year :)
The best Bec💐
thank you for your inspiring talk, I wonder what are the measurements of your wall - thanks
Thanks for watching, the bigger part of the wall is 2.4m high x 2.4m wide and the smaller part is 2.4m tall x 1.2m wide
In the 60’s they would call this art and paying big money for it :)
Did you use chalk colour or fabric colour or acrylic colour?
acrylic paint
How do you guys decide what goes on UA-cam and what goes on the Inspire site?
.. i use for the sony a7riii for tethering the sony program called remote, saving the pics on a small ssd, after shooting i plug the ssd in my workstation.....
awesome
Hello Bec and Peter from Switzerland
Hi :)
A bit of a suggestion. Don't try to kill an elephant with a bb gun. Use a large broom and blend dark and lighter colours. Could be done quicker and even fun!
Hi Peter, you should have look at 3D LUT Creator for matching colors
Hi Alex, I've tried it but I found it very hard to match with, I prefer to use the style of colour grading tools in DaVinci Resolve
Nice. I wonder if you could paint like this on a flexible material so you can roll them up and more easily have different ones? What paint to use for that so it does not crack?
Thank you, to my knowledge the paint would crack, not sure if there is one that wouldn't crack
You can use a paint that they paint theater sets with, like Rosco paint, but you will need to thin them down before painting the muslin. Be sure and treat the muslin first. There are references online for technique.
Is your favourite allround program now Capture One?
No, for hasselblad it's phocus and for Sony it's ACR
@@PeterCoulsonPhotographer Thanks Peter, I have now Canon, had the Sony a7rIII. It’s more that I worked always with Canon and I switched back it’s just a tool that fits me the most. Do you made also a video with how you worked with ACR? Can you tether with ACR? It’s a shame that aperture is away! It would be great for travel to have aperture and final cut on a MacBook Pro 13” M1. Have a nice Christmas and a great 2021! greetings from Holland 🇳🇱
@@SretloW You're welcome Mike. You can't tether with ACR, I just use it for post-production. You can see how I use it in both of these videos ua-cam.com/video/ABBuZOihBPA/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/QEazoJ9hPbc/v-deo.html :) I agree, aperature was great, wish they would bring it back. Hope you've had a great start to 2021 and all is well in Holland
Peter ist sogar im Handwerk begabt, toll. Eine Seltenheit im Photo-Geschäft!?
This is just the job while I'm editing my photos, seven hours after this livestream finished. But here's my question: is time travel real?
Bec on the livestream: "No".
Don’t wish this question to be inappropriate, but Beck- have you seen an allergist recently? You seem to be rubbing your nose quite a bit. I hope you’re not allergic to Peter! Thoroughly enjoy all of Peter’s posts.
Yes I do have allergies to dust that play up every once in a while. It's also going in to winter here in Australia so my sinuses are getting a little agitated.
Peter does Bob Ross.
lols
👍🤟🚀
I'm not sure if it's obvious, but I'm starting to see Jesus in the center of this wall... Peter is doing this on purpose for sure :)
I had a converstation with a pro tog here in Scotland who shot only in jpeg and said that if you edit your photos then you are cheating and not a photographer. He then went on to say that Ansel Adams did not edit his photos, when I stopped laughing at that I pointed him to Ansel Adams books on dodging and burining in the darkroom and he stopped talking to me
Lols :) I had a similar conversation with someone on UA-cam
@@PeterCoulsonPhotographer my conversation was in a kink club, so we had the background noise of whips cracking 😁😁
The news is depressing
