  • Guys, thought this might be enjoyable with just primarily the views of the Divide area and the sounds of the YZ250X. I cut out most of the talking and just tried to narrow down to some fun and scenic sections into a shorter highlight video.

    Picking up my '19 YZ250X in the morning! Thanks to all the great reviews. And, THANK YOU for not being like the 90% who ruin their riding videos with music!!!!!

      Get springs for your weight, get the head recut to fix the squish(I'm running 13.14:1 uccr on pump fuel), to the pv mod, 7.5mm float height and start out with
      Under 2500' asl
      45 pilot
      Jd red needle on clip 2
      40 power jet
      175 main.
      Stock porting is.....impressive.

    Thanks for the video. I am trying to pick a 2 stroke offroad bike and your observations are good to compare to the few other opinions out there on the yz250x.

      Awesome to see you stop by! I'm just glad to see it regrowing. If I'm still around this place in a decade, it will be awesome to look at old footage and the regrowth.

    Awesome, how long roughly would a full tank of fuel last on a continuous ride...

    • @Oni76
      @Oni76  5 років тому +2

      Rob, I haven't run the bike dry. With my pace, I can ride 2.5 hours for sure. I'm also around 8000' elevation with the bike somewhat leaned out, so I imagine at lower elevations the fuel consumption will be a bit more.

    Hey Oni...do you still love your 250X? I'm looking to get one soon, to add to my garage (I have a 450 4 stroke) Anything you don't like about it...how is it at say Aztec or another MX focused track?

    • @Oni76
      @Oni76  4 роки тому

      I don't ride MX much on it, but that's mainly because I'm most comfortable on my YZ250F. I have ridden some MX at RAM on the YZ250X, though, and I quite enjoyed it. If you're hitting the downsides or jumping smaller jumps, I think the suspension is quite excellent, but I imagine it could get too soft for bigger jumps. I still love having the bike, and it's a blast to ride wherever I take it. Honestly, I debated if I should go down to one bike, and I think I'd get rid of the YZ250F first if I ever did.

    Was this completely stock ? If you changed anything could u please list them? I really want to buy this over the ktm but i dont want to add a bunch of shit into it right away.

    • @Oni76
      @Oni76  5 років тому

      Richard, the changes I've made to the bike are rejetting for the altitude (~$2.50 per main jet, and ~$3 per pilot jet), installing a forest approved silencer ($153), installing a skid plate ($65), and putting on some hand-guards ($32). Hope that helps.

    Guys, tried a different format for this one with as little talking as possible and just highlights of the ride. Do you like the less talking and just riding? Day on the video coming up soon if interested in more of the trail!

  • @desertdrz7618

    How many miles can you get on 1 tank of gas?

    • @Oni76
      @Oni76  5 років тому +1

      No odometer, so I would have to judge by hours. With my riding style around 2-2.5 hours depending on the trail. The loop I typically do is ~50 miles, and I normally don't hit reserve.

    • @desertdrz7618
      @desertdrz7618 5 років тому

      Trying to decide if I want to go the 2 stroke route for my next bike, the 250x is appealing because it is so powerful and light but that mileage is a downer. Definitely would need a bigger tank as my rides tend to be around as far as 70 miles. Plus in the desert with sand washes, high speed fire roads, etc.

    • @Oni76
      @Oni76  5 років тому +1

      I agree. I need to upsize the tank just for peace of mind, although, I still haven't had issues with range yet. I'd prefer not to find out the hard way. :) I ride a WR250X (so similar weight to a DRZ), and I can attest that the weight difference between the WR and YZ is overly obvious. I've barely ridden the WR since getting the YZ250X if that says anything.
