I wanted a video like this for months, finally someone that explains clearly and in a professional way, thank you Adrien you helped me a lot
Awesome man, I'm really happy that it can help ! Feel free to share the video so it can help others :)
Adrien Drums of course I will, thank you so much Adrien :)
I am upgrading from my TD-25KV to a TD-50KV2. This video will really help me get started on setting up the new kit given all of the variables to consider and adjust. Thanks, Adrien!
Excellent tutorial on the TD-50 Adrian! I have followed your channel for years now and your skills and understanding of edrums have come a long way! I have played the TD20X and TD30 for about 12 years and just made the upgrade to the TD50X and found Roland has completely changed the interface and increased the variables even more than before! Your video helped me to understand both how to navigate the new menus as well as understand the effect the settings have on the original samples. Thanks and Vive La France!!
Thank you Adrien for a really great video. Exactly the education I needed. Can't wait to try your settings! TY!
Great video! Very, very helpful. Especially because you took the time to explain what each function does & the reasoning behind your choices. This opens up the possibilities of a high end module for people new to flagship eDrums, but who aren’t sure how to finesse all the variables. Many thanks.
Thanks for your feedback buddy. I'm really glad it could help! take care
Incredibly helpful video. Thank you for taking all the time to do this!
Glad it was helpful! thanks for the feedback
Thanks a million man! I got my td 50 yesterday and have spent a few hours with this video. It has helped me so much. Got a great sound. 👍. Keep up the good content. Subscribed.
I'm glad I could help buddy ! enjoy it !
What a perfect explanation for using the TD50. My TD50, I've been slowly learning how to dial in the settings and this video makes it idiot proof. Thanks dude! I'm looking forward to watching more of your content.
Great video! thanks for your time!
Hello, this is an awesome videos, quite possibly the clearest walkthrough of TD-50 sound design. I really enjoy your descriptions and reasoning for each of the settings . Thank you, RMS
Thanks for the feedback my friend

Good know man! Enjoy it :) And if you have any questions just let me know
this is great video exactly what i looked for GJ Adrian.
by the way I tried to do same in video on my TD27 but found that some instruments are not exist
Great video Adrien, thanks man! Yes please I would love the preset and more information on setting up custom sets on the TD50!
thanks buddy ! What would you like to know ?
@@Adrien-Drums I Would like to know where I can access the preset you mentioned in the video and if you have any other documentation on tweaking settings or maybe a good source to find information on tweaking settings for better sounding TD50 kits?
@@CovertOperations No I meant, what would you like to know that is not covered on the video in terms of settings? It's just a way for me to improve my future videos. Unfortunately, the preset is not available. I will see what I can do for the future.
@@Adrien-Drums I find that when I'm working in the TD50, every time I change to a new set for the first time I have to go through all the basic settings for the volumes of each instrument before I can even start tweaking the settings for the sound of the instruments. Is there a way to copy the basic settings from kit to kit to save time? Would love to see a video on that. Thanks for all you do to help us out here, you are very much appreciated. And thanks for taking time to respond to our questions. Hope you and family are safe and well during these crazy times!

I love this video. One question do you have some settings for the big ride?
Thanks
Awesome video bro ;)
Arlindo Cardoso thanks my friend! I know that you have been playing a lot on edrums so feel free to share your insights
Adrien Drums I will bro, thank you for your feedback 🙏🏼
Hey Adrien! I’m checking out your kits on your website and I was wondering. If I bought the packs and imported the kits, would I also be able to pull individual sounds from your various kits to make my own? Or are all the sounds permanently applied to each custom kit?
Sorry if this is a newbie question, just made the jump to the td50
Hello, What headphones do you recommend to use with the Roland v drums?
Thank you very much!
Excellent video. Thanks. I'm off to bugger about with my settings...
(as requested for feedback: very clear and helpful. And never worry about if your French accent was a bad thing: it wasn't and I'm just very grateful you did it in English. If anyone complains about someone doing a helpful video in their non-native tongue, then frankly, they're a bit of a c**t! 👍🏻)
Haha thanks for the feedback my friend !
Could these be applied to td30? Or would it sound different if the engine is different on those?
Hi Adrian thanks for the tutorial. That really is helpful. I have a technical question, if I may, about your hardware setup. If i am seeing it right the TD50 is connected to your macbook through a usb-c hub. Which usb hub do you use? Because I am not getting any connection with the TD50 and my macboo pro 2019. I would appreciatie it if you could share this with me. Thanks in advance.
Glad it helps, thanks! It's the Satechi Hub. But usually I just a regular USB C to USB 3 adapter.
Hi how do I get that rim stick sound on the toms when hitting the rim. Thanks
Awesome video. I have a TD 50. Have not been able to figure out how to setup the snare crosstick and toggle on and off. When I setup crosstick as instrument the whole snare sounds like a crosstick. The manual doesn’t explain this
nice! :)
Adrien thanks for making this video. We just got this electric drum kit in our church but we can’t figure out how to get the auxiliary channels to go through our sound system, on the 50x there’s only eight outputs in the back of the brain that’s being used for the regular kit.
Is there a way to double up triggers on the 1/4” output?
I would try the master out
Superb explanation of how to get the best out of this module. What amazes me about Roland is they put this module and others out with terrible factory presets. They really are chronic
richard squires thanks for your feedback buddy! I think that they had to make choices... but they recently released some artists preset on their website !
Great video, man! Would it be possible to make a td50 trigger settings video? Especially on the pd140ds snare? I’m having a hard time getting the right feel with my snare, fooling around with scan time and different rim settings that I don’t actually understand. Please.
I would advise not to use settings you don't understand. sensitivity and threshold should be enough to get what you want
Saludos🇦🇷👌 adriel
Saludos Cris !
I have the Td 50x and cannot find the element window. It doesn’t appear that i can adjust the mic pickup of each individual drum. Just the ambience. Anyone know how to figure this out?
Alors là... mon 2nd Adrien préféré (mon fils se prénommant Adrien... So...
Great video. I use Westone 30 Am in ear $400 bucks monitoring and they suck really bad with the sound module. Have you done any testing with earbuds that sounds great with bass using the sound module ?
Well earbus will not have enough power to conduct the sound of a drum module IMO
hi adrin/ i love your druming. your good; im behind you; your my friend; terry
hello
i have a td 50 could you explain to me how to connect my drums to my computer to use differents sound in abeton 10 or another software in live thankssssssssss alain from france
Hi Adrien, very good. I m your biggest fan here from Brazil, my name is Letícia!!
Thanks for the support Leticia !
Is a pleasure!
Great video thanks so much!! But I have one issue - If I click on Page Down to adjust the mic settings it takes me straight to transient. I can't for the life of me find that Mic Pos tab.. I have a new TD-50X, would that make a difference?
hey did you ever figure this out? i tried messing with it yesterday and after a few hours got no closer to finding the mic inside section
Clairement ! Je recommande à 100% la TD 17 !
Hello, just a quick follow up, worked through the settings on my TD-50 and was just wondering if you made any changes to the ride? Thanks, RMS
Nope, the ride sounds fantastic by itself IMO. I will upload my preset on my website next week !
Can you tell me the last two high hat settings again please? Thank you.
Would love to download your preset if that’s something you can do! 🙏🏼
Here you go man : www.adriendrums.com/?product=roland-td-27-presets-by-adrien-drums-copie
Nice !! how save my settings ?? thanks a lot !
Can you please teach us how to setup the VH11, when I play fast or sixteenth notes, some notes are missing.
Might have to do with the retrigger settings or mask time
do you reckon you could do a video of how you record and edit your v drums
That's a highly requested one, I will think about it !
Hi Adrien. Went to your Instagram but I cannot find where to download the presets. Any ideas?

I do ! You can also buy my preset if you want to !
@@Adrien-Drums Is there a TD50X preset?
@@pmdci Did you find out?
Would you please redo this again for the Roland TD-50x ? Thanks!!

Thank you for this. Please share the preset link.
Sure, I'll do it ! I will let you know guys on Instagram! What did you find the most useful ?
Thanks Adrien, I only recently bought a TD-50 and wondered "what the hell have I done?" The factory settings are awful. Your video is a great quick start for achieving better sounds. The disappointing thing is that if one hooks up a VST like Addictive Drums to the TD-50, you wonder why you ever bothered trying to get a good sound from the TD-50 module....except I cant avoid latency....back to the whacky boxey snare sounds of the TD-50 @%&$*!
Glad it could help buddy ! Well actually... Yeah the presets are a bit disappointing, but the overall sounds are way richer than samples, especially concerning the cymbals. But I hear you, good news is you can tweak a lot of things to get the perfect sound ;) Don't regret your purchase, the TD 50 is fantastic, but you have to spend some time on it to get the best out of it ! I hope that it helped you reaching a better sound, there is nothing worst than being frustrated with your own drums!
The TD-50 is for sound engineers. You just need more time to work on making great sounding drums.
@@drumyogi9281 Well, yeah it's a pretty dense drum brain, and it can be confusing, this is why I wanted to do a video to help you guys understand how it works.
Could a td 50 be compared to an acoustic? It's good enough to sound like an acoustic?
Thanks!
Well yes and no... The overall feeling is comparable to an acoustic drum, but this is a different instrument, you can do things with an acoustic drum that you cannot do with an electronic drum and vice versa. Tho the sound and the feeling of the TD 50 are amazing in my opinion, and this is what matters the most ! It's more than good enough to play, practice, and having fun ! I have as much fun with this one as with my acoustic drum depending on what I want to play !
@@Adrien-Drums Thank you.
hey adrien,
how are you ? been a while since your last video
Doing fantastic bro, I've been very busy with live shows. hope you're doing well
Those drumsticks look awesome, anyone know where I can get them?
Promark Firegrain 5A Rebound
Awesome now my sons kit no longer Hertz my ears.
Fantastic video! I found the tempo of the explanations was a tad too quick.
Thanks for the feedback bro. Actually the video was so long I've tried to edit it a bit. Maybe too much!
This video could of been 24 minutes shorter... connect to VST...... lol, but great video bud!!!!! Sounds amazing
Haha. Thanks buddy ! To me it's different, when I practice, I prefer 100% to play without VST, because you will have much more dynamic range, every hit will sound different so you will have a better feeling. Tho I love to use VST when I record my edrum because then you can change the samples to adapt them to the song ! Also, you can now import your samples within the TD 50 so... Plus when you take the time to get a proper sound on your drum module, then everything is quicker, you can play, record etc with a great sound ! Then again, both are great depending on what you want to do ;)
I'm using a TD-4 still sounds great
Good for you man, It's important to be happy about your sound, it makes you want to play more ;)
How do you then save?
You mean after you’re done? No need to save. It auto save it for you ;)
@@Adrien-Drums thanks man, is there a video on, downloading, importing and exporting kits? If not please consider it😅
I would like to have your preset please.
Unfortunately, it's not ready yet for some reasons. Did you try to tweak by yourself ?
Here you go : www.adriendrums.com/?product=roland-td-27-presets-by-adrien-drums-copie
Idk man. I’ve followed you step by step and it just doesn’t sound the same. It’s almost like I can’t hear any changes occurring once I’m in the advanced menus. I’m using Shure SH-440 headphones, so I don’t think it’s a speaker issue. Your tone is fantastic, mine is still too crispy with no real punch.
I put my preset on my website ;)
Is there any way we can speak by email or WhatsApp?

Nope, I actually did nothing on the ride ;) Still I hope you found something useful for you
Adrien Drums I sure as hell did. The kick and the toms sound awesome

Adrien Drums well I used every setting except the actual instrument. I prefer steel tubelugs(#48) 8.0 shell depth.
@@nickcds3419 Interesting, I will give it a try !
Tiddy 50
lol
If you're unable to set your td50 to get what you want, don't worry, it'd just a shitty drumkit with a flurry of phony settings to change up and down, but the hardwire is so shitty to begin with that you won't ever be satisfyied. This kit is a joke, just don't buy it.
I understand it's hardwork, but worth it 100%. I am 100% satisfied with it
Roland's sounding so bad
I would strongly disagree with that, did you try my preset ?
I would also, strongly disagree
