  • "You were the only one I looked up to - all I aspired to be, brother! You were to be the saviour of this land, to bring about an age of light - not plunge it to darkness! You were meant to save our family, not condemn us to a legacy of bloodshed! Do not make me do this! I loved you, Strahd." - Sergei von Zarovich
    Depicting the climactic struggle between to von Zarovich siblings. With Strahd's theme, variations, elements of triumph and hope - with inevitable decline.
    An original piece for my heavily modified CoS campaign.
    Feel free to use in your campaign if you wish.
    Please contact me if you wish to use it for any commercial use (streaming and video production included)
    Thanks All. Enjoy!

    That statement from Sergei has a very Obi-Wan vibe to it.

      He's following my players as a Reborn in my game with lost memories. My players were baffled when they discovered his true identity, now they need to find a way to bring his memories back.

      My party tried to stuff his lake-bound soul in Vasilka to keep keep the Abbot from killing Ireena. That failed, but they managed to use the tome of Strahd to get him to build a new body for Sergei. He is totally going to use this line in the final battle.

      I prefer the idea of putting his soul into the sunsword so he can communicate with his emotion and when you obtain the crystal of the sunsword he can talk and appeared much more freely

    Hey! My DM played this on repeat while we raided Strahd's castle in the final showdown we had in our campaign. I would love to learn this piece on the piano. Is there any place (like a patreon or something) where I could find the sheet music?

  • @DMofBriseras

    You mentioned in the description that your COS campaign was heavily modified. I’ve been doing research for running my own, so if you care to expand on that, I would love to listen and take notes! I figure if it inspired this music, it must be amazing!

    • @MerlinCGBroadway
      @MerlinCGBroadway  2 роки тому

      It was indeed heavily modified. A notes video for the campaign is on the pipeline (unfortunetly near the back of it) due to the amount of creative outlets and projects I have going on. Is there a topic in particular you'd like me to discuss?

    • @DMofBriseras
      @DMofBriseras 2 роки тому

      @@MerlinCGBroadway Nothing specific to make mention of, but as this is my first time DMing a full campaign, any suggestions would be appreciated! I found that modifying the Death House made it much more enjoyable for my players, so I am on the lookout for any information that could help me do the same with CoS. For example, I've heard starting the adventure in Krezk vs. Barovia Village creates a smoother story progression. I kind of currently have my eyes and ears open for little tips like that as I'm prepping, so if you have anything to add, I would love to know. Meanwhile, I'll subscribe and look forward to your notes video. Thanks!
      (Edit: By the way, did you write the quotes in the descriptions yourself? Honestly, they are so good.)

      @MerlinCGBroadway  2 роки тому +1

      @@DMofBriseras yes, they're all quotes from NPCs and things from my game.

      I'd say the biggest changes I made were to Strahd and his backstory. Definetly leaned heavily into the tragic villain.
      My advise for people running this game would be to really study your strahd. Really know what makes him tick and have him show up constantly. Not necessarily to fight.
      In my game, Strahd was tied to the fate of the dread plane. And the centre of the wheel he described it, and heavily implied that he was well aware of the circle of torment he was subjected to. (Alot of Soul Reaver/Legacy of Kain influence in my game)
      He viewed the players characters as his chance to attain free will, they were free from the spokes of fate and thus could be key in ending his cycle.
      With that in mind he would constantly test them, or manipulate them in such a way to further goals that he knew would fail if he were to chase them.
      So yeah cool changes like that that change how people are.
      TLDR: Focus on your Strahd and use him often to guide the story to further his goals.

      @@MerlinCGBroadway I am definitely struggling a bit with Strahd's motivations and character development (one could take it in so many directions) but I really like the idea of making the characters sort of his beacon of hope, rather than just his playthings. Seems like it would encourage more dynamic interactions between him and the players, and I like the idea of giving Strahd a bit of desperation to cripple his pride....(would even provide some motivation to unhinge him should they refuse to assist or fail to be of use). I can feel the gears turning in my brain.....thanks for the feedback! Appreciate it.
