lowkey i hope portia has a "Story" but i want it to feel more like a sandbox, so stories appear like emergent events (Sort of like rimworld) it'd make the game feel alive like something new could always happen even if the mainline story is done.
I am so grabbing this when I'm home from vacation and have access to my PC again! I loved Portia, but HATED mining because I'm partially blind and those mines were so visually indistinct for me. I LOVE the looks of the mining nodes in Sandrock, MUCH better for me.
I'm visually impaired as well and I have difficulty with a game that isn't really high contrast. Also, my depth perception isn't very good, so that was another part of the mines that was difficult for me. I'm so glad to know I'm not the only gamer with this problem. Glad you commented here!!!
sandrock's assembly station pulls from your chests too, not just your inventory!! not sure why i'm watching even though i have 15 hours already, but here i am, lol. i definitely look forward to the full release!
@@JoshGamingGarden ah gotcha, it's definitely been patched then! right now i only have to take things out of chests to turn in commissions or to sell items.
I have loved this game so much so far! Literally my only problem so far has been that in the character creation, I couldn't make a dark enough skintone that was also not undersaturated or absurdly purple/red/yellow...but honestly, even there it got closer and did better than most games, so I can't entirely complain. The gameplay has been so smooth and purposeful, and I really, really enjoy mining now-- just because I'm a picky person, I probably should have waited for a sale instead of immediately spending 25$, but at the same time I know it will feel worth it once a few updates have come out!
I wanted to try My Time at Portia because I loved Stardew Valley and it seemed like it had the same kind of vibe, but I was a bit bothered by the graphics and the lack of customer customisation. I'm glad to see these are both improved upon
I can't wait to play this game until it's fully released! I love all the improvements done to it and it just looks like so much fun to play. I loved MTAP and this game looks even better.
I already reached the end of main story line that is currently available and man was it so fun!! I can't wait to see the full game and the rest of the content implemented! 😊💖💖
I loved my time at portia. They seem to have really mastered their art and gameplay. It looks really good I can't wait until it makes it onto the switch since I prefer playing in bed. The only complaint I had about my time at portia was that the switch version was way behind the PC version. Bugs, glitches, some content, and some voice acting was missing long long after the pc version was updated and even after it got released on mobile. I know its a big different of a process when it comes to updating or putting games on switch which I understand. I just hope that now that they've gotten used to it that the process will be smoother to ensure switch players are getting the same experience as pc players. My all in one pc is nice but doesn't run mtap smoothly so I'll probably purchase it on steam but use my husband's gaming pc instead to play it and then ofcourse buy it on switch too.
I really hope they manage the Switch version well this time! Apparently they had outsourced the port to a different company with Portia, but they'll do it in-house this time around, so hopefully it'll work out better!
I recommend getting a Steam Deck. It's pretty much a handheld PC, so you wouldn't have to worry about bad ports. It can also run console games via emulation. Ironically, some Switch games look better on the Steam Deck than they do on the Switch, and that will continue to get better as Switch emulators improve. It's a matter of time before the Switch becomes obsolete.
Mobile has voice just download the files from the internet that was extracted from PC to paste in voice folder in mobile. Now you have voice. Also there's costumes mobile only. Now my Phylis sexy 😂. Also free Massage chair at start that's where Sandrock fails your always looking for your Stamina early game but in Portia just get a Massage in the chair for more stamina. Another thing where Sandrock fails is I miss my unarmed weapons like boxing gloves or knuckles which knuckles strong until you can get knight sword.
Loved Portia, but it got too grindy towards the end of the game taking days to finish a project with nothing else to do with the time. So im looking forward to playing this game when its complete and seeing what it's like!
I enjoyed hanging with you during your livestream of the game, a few days ago. Helped answer a lot of my questions for me to purchase the game. My only 2 issues are the way you upgrade your home now. I ended up losing my door and windows, then had to run all the way back to figure out how to edit and add them back on the outside wall. I'm really hoping that aspect gets a better tutorial since the menu there doesn't let you know anything. Secondly, after dropping the diagram on the assembly station to build something, you can't remove it. I wasted 6 hours trying to get mats for something that I wish I could have just taken off the station, and went with what I truly needed. I was tempted to just restart my save file lol. Glad to know that even after 30 hours, you still have stuff to do, as I'm around 12hrs in!
Unrelated, but Happy International Flight Attendant Day! I saw that it was today and immediately thought of you. Wishing you safe travels always! 🙏🏾 ✈️
only available on steam, and only available for windows computers so I ain't playing it on my Mac computer or PS4 anytime soon apparently. wish I could though.
"It's like My Time at Portia, but improved." That's what I'm excited for :) I'm playing through Portia now, and I like it, but it's *so* janky. Sandrock looks gorgeous
I just got this game in early access after playing My Time at Portia. Like in Portia, I’m glad you can name your workshop, as well as each storage box you make (I label them things such as metals, stone, foodstuffs, proc’d mats for processed materials, etc.)
My time at Portia wasn’t exactly my favorite game because I personally have never played a game with the mechanics it offered but I didn’t even realize how much time I put into my time at sand rock and I am addicted.
Sandrock is better, because we can play it with a team of 4 and that's awesome. I LOVE the 4 person yakmel mount, with the sidespans and double saddle.
I'm glad they made it with lots of improvements I enjoyed portia but it was annoying mainly because of the bugs. One moment I'll be in the mine making great progress and then the next minute I'll be stuck in some black hole and have to restart😅 I couldnt play anymore. I really can't stand glitches so praying when it actually releases its a clean release
I had this same issue. I really liked Portia but I never got very far into the game because of things like this. Sandrock is already looking much better.
Your wish regarding watering crops sounds like it is already in the works based on a short video Pathea has on UA-cam about the farming in Sandrock. One more QOL improvement at least coming our way.
I've been just loving content for this can't even remember if I commented here or not, though there are definitely moments it feels that way I mean I love My Time at Portia. however, going back to it after you can see a reasonable difference especially in player character I need to get a long skirt to see how they move in this game. I play fairly slow considering how I figure things out so it may take me longer than others to complete what is available but I"m so for it. The loading screens don't even bother me as I've been on high and low end computers and sometimes it's just for the best to have some things 'separated' that way depends on the game.
just bought the game, not going to play it yet until more stuff is implemented but its great to see that a lot of QoL changes are implemented without waiting to the end game for the factory like Portia
I spent too much hours in Portia... love the game for what it was. Looking forward to Sandrock but was worried about the changes and new features. This vid cleared up my concerns. safe to say, I'll be getting Sandrock soon :) Thank you
I never finished Portia because the xbox frame rate was awful but i was enjoying the bit i did play. Would you say i should finish portia before play sanrock?
I mean, they actually have a farming system - as opposed to random planters you threw seeds at where the weeds didn't even have an effect That's pretty impressive right off xD
it deffinetly has potential to be much better, we just have to wait for updates and full release. right now i dislike the limited stamina, it does make players buy and make more food and puts more use to food items but still it should be tweaked. right now it just drains very quickly. they should also add in more ways to obtain water. dew catchers are good and all but they dont provide enough water if someone wants to make a decent farm and water every plant.
Ok you convinced me to give it a 2nd chance to this developer, just that this time I have a Great Laptop that can run anything instead of using my poor PS4. Thanks Josh
hopefully it comes to the Nintendo switch and bring to the west and make a physical copy of the game to and love that they add minin games better ones to with the card game makes more fun

It depends on what you mean by "better." I played 40 hours in Sandrock and I have to say, I still like Portia better. I have 350hrs+ spanned through 5 different playthroughs and i will sum up the difference between Portia vs Sandrock like this: EVERYTHING is improved by a huge margin. I only miss the bits of comedy in Portia and Sandrock feels a bit more serious overall, especially a part of the main story.
For me combat needs to be fairly simple because I'm terrible at combos in ARPG games (like Tale of Vesperia), just too many button combos to remember. So the single button mashing in My Time at Portia was just about right for me 😅
