Hey, I’d love to buy the game but I’ll be away from my PC for a while. How compatible is it with the steam deck? Thanks for the game, it looks absolutely amazing!
There's another game that has a feature like that, where you're a team of heros/adventurers and can get injured and forced to retire, and then your ancestors can be playable.
This is why I'm subscribed to you, you do in depth, detailed reviews on games. You show footage of what you're talking about and even mention smaller details. I love that type of stuff. Appreciate the effort man.
having minigames for all the crafting and not needing a million chests for inventory management, honestly makes this one of the best 'life sim' games. There being semi-disturbing fae magic underlying the whole thing is also pretty fun. I wouldn't recommend it for completionists tho, since there are SO many NPCs. Trying to befriend them all, only for time to pass and new ones show up, can be aggravating. Especially since you're basically required to make friends in order to do some tasks
thanks for the detailed review. I tried the early access and was overwhelmed and lost from the tutorial, but glad to see that the game improved a lot. I guess i'll try it again when i have free time
In depth review, kynseed seems very intimidating because of the wide range of things you can do. But I will give it a try, the progression of time and your children inheriting your progress sounds really good for a farming sim. Thanks for the review! Keep it upp : D
This game changed a lot way back on it's early access version. Kinda overwhelming compared to Stardew and the mini games are confusing at first try.. I even took a lot of ingame days just to finish the quest of buying seeds cuz the game won't tell you when you could buy seeds. But as soon as you get used to these you'll find yourself managing your daily routines cuz the time kinda move so fast.
I love that they have an accessibility menu, also the details for owning a shop. Like in rf4 I loved owning a shop but I wanted it to be more elaborate. Also the generation mechanic sounds amazing! I only know of awl that does this..and thats it? I hope other games explore it in the future
love the detail you get into this review! i appreciate especially the mention of button remapping and controller support, thats usually my main concern. i love the art style so much its unique and gorgeous! and how jampacked the gameplay is, im looking forward to playing it someday!
@@JoshGamingGarden Yes, I played some. It just didn't hold my interest. Maybe later I will work with again. I liked Orange Season a bit better because there was less guesswork. Now, I am back to HM Animal Parade and My Time at Sandrock, which I messed up a task I cannot make-up so I am missing a part of the game. They will help when I find my gameplay file because they are great with communication. Just right now I wanted to play something calming for awhile.
@Josh's Gaming Garden To cut herbs after the first few chops just hold Left Mouse Button and move it left and right, it will then finalize cutting the small bits. It's actually part of the game mechanic. edit: Same thing for controllers, just hold the action button and move left analog left and right.
I’ve followed this game from when it was introduced on the Kynseed blog (I was intrigued with the art style) up to now. Haven’t had a chance to play it yet due to my huge backlog though but I’m definitely getting it! Thanks for the review Josh 😊
Saw it was out, hadn't seen you make a vid when I checked your videos yesterday, then saw you had reviewed it now, thanks! :D Now, I will watch the video and see if it became anything like what they promised :P
So Josh a tip for the herbs, that knife is a special mezzaluna knife, so pulverize the herbs when big and when they get chopped into smaller piece keep the knife on the board and slide it from side to side(kinda like a rocking chair) this will cover more area for slicing rather than using the small mid point of the knife. Anyways super happy you gave the game some attention, I do agree with the conversations being somewhat bland(aside from reaching a new heart level), only a couple lines of marriage dialogue but in general felt like marrying anyone didn't make much difference. Game def has some bugs but the team has been cranking out patches for fixes to try and smooth out gameplay and since your review they have made some QoL changes like not needing to go into the menu everytime to plant a seed and now works almost like Stardew's planting.
So glad I discovered your content this year. Speaking of which, are you planning to do a favorites of the year video? There’s been quite a few cozy and farm sim games in 2022, would love to hear your overall thoughts and what stood out the most for you.
Honestly I would have loved the game and enjoyed playing through all of it if it wasn't SO big, overwhelming and confusing. I got lost all the time, everything seemed to look so similar, but that might be a mix of the artstyle and my poor orientation. I couldn't do anything without this little fairy showing me the way I had to go. Plus the language barrier was just too high. English is not my native language and I failed to understand enough despite me playing most games in English and being just fine. I played around 19 hrs before ultimately giving up. I could totally see myself trying this game again as soon as there is a German translation! I LOVE all the minigames and that it is not just too easy. The cooking is so cool, the smithing is a lot of fun and I could see myself playing for hours and hours if I just understood enough about what was going on.
Progress slowed due to legal troubles. One of the main developers sexually assulted a community member. Serval other developers quit due to the way the company dealt with the accusations. The team wasn't very large so this slowed things down a lot.
Thanks for the review!! I bought the game in early early access but couldn't play for long bc it was so early in development, but I'm going to go back to it now!!!
I really appreciate your very detailed and instructive review videos, and the new channel name. With so much content, I would most certainly like this game if it were not for the pixel art. These pixel art games are definitely not for me as my numerous false starts in Stardew Valley or Sun Haven (never more than a few hours each time) are proof, while I’ve hundreds of hours in Coral Island, Dreamlight Valley, the My time series or even Pumpkin Days (I guess one of my favourite), to name a few. Keep up the great work.
Great review, thanks for all the details. Was feeling kinda bored with the prologue of the game, and wanted to see more to know if I want to keep playing.
Got this today! 👀 I remember watching this but I forget what are the tips since I do not have the game before! I believe most of these are still applicable! So lovely to revisit these tips and tricks after the BIG update! Thank you so much!!
Thank you for the detailed review, i was looking forward to this game but, honestly it just feels too complicated and i don't like the appearance of the npcs, so i guess unfortunately i'll just skip this one...
Thanks to you I bought this game... I saw your stream last time and I couldnt hold myself back. I love this game so far and Im totally addicted. But yes, unfortunately I also think that the characters are super blend and boring after a time... Thanks for the review Josh !
How long is a lifetime in-game - typically? I wonder how many hours I can expect from this game. Would playing 20 years be fun? Is there enough to do to fill out those 20 years?
I have the same question, the whole multi lifetime thing could feel like a gimmick if each incarnation only lives a year or something. Never mind, the video gets around to it, a year of gameplay leads to a decade or more of time skipping in a practical save.
one thing i have to ask... how do you level up your reputation? ive been stuck at 500/500 for awhile and the game (as far as i know) never tells you how to level it up.
I'm curious about how fast the days go, because I find myself very stressed by how fast days go in other games like this. Is there enough time each day?
Fable is a fun game series, but until the reboot, it really is just 3 different shots on the same target, none of them quite hitting the bullseye. A lack of depth was the main thing I noticed in fable, so to hear that this system is more involved than just "Collect money while your xbox is offline" is really satisfying to hear.
I invested in this game when I heard about it years ago. I’ve been waiting for the full release to properly enjoy it 😊somewhere out there is a fairy named Virgil 😂 (that was from the investment)
Definitely looks interesting, but I've been broke for awhile now cause life has gotten more difficult. But still managing, anyway I like playing life sims when I need a break from visually intense games or just to relax after a stressful day
I bought this game based on your recommendation, it has been the first farming sim I’ve gotten hooked on since Stardew Valley! Hopefully they will add additional content for designing your characters to make them more “cute”! Unnecessary, but would totally appeal to us users who enjoy character creation!
I got it in really, really Early Access and it wasn't playable. It was more of a prototype. I felt kinda ripped off, ngl. Maybe I'll give it another try, I already own it and it looks okay now.
The lack of character customization and bland NPCs are a huge drawback for me. I bought it in early access because I love the idea, but am hoping some mods or updates come to touch up on those parts it missed the mark on.

Especially considering that dating & marriage is such a key part of the gameplay. So many of the people are unappealing by design.
I'm just going to pretend all the characters have 0 intelligence as I play/rp. Ugly models are great for enhancing that experience
