Good advice. There is also a mod you can download to slow the game speed down to 0.01 (instead of 0.5). Also one for increase health and stamina regen.
Thanks. This game is so addicting and messed up my sleep schedule. Sandrock is a huge step up from Portia with so many quality of life improvements. I just hope they can keep the console versions up to date with the PC version.
thankfully a lot of this was already second nature to me from Portia but I still gave the video a watch to make sure I was doing everything right 😂 definitely gave me some advice I didn't know so thanks!
Always be collecting resources and have your machines processing things, so smelting bars and recycling or crafting plates and screws etc. You will always need processed resources, and they all take time to create. So every time you can, add more to the machines. Use all your stamina in the day, refill it by eating, you can also eat at the saloon twice a day, and collect more stuff. You'll need it. You can also find two more tires for rubber scrap by the sandfishing hole near the scrapyard/ruins by your house. Highly recommend you dont take the commissions for rubber stuff... it gets scarce super fast and youll need quite a bit for the main questline.
Thank you for this video! It was really well laid out. I'm a ways into the game and had been struggling to figure out how/when to do certain things. This video made me realize I could upgrade the assembly station at Construction Junction (had been struggling to figure out how to do that, I thought it was story-based) & upgrade my sandtrap to get those larger fish. Don't know why I couldn't figure that out on my own... but thank you! The notes about where to find recipes were also useful. I kept wasting time having to run back and forth between where you get commissions & my home in order to figure out (1) whether I had the underlying materials already made for a commission, and (2) where I would get any materials I didn't have. Those encyclopedias are super useful! Wish I knew about them earlier.
It's a big game, and there is a lot to it, but it walks you through stuff pretty well as you play. It might feel overwhelming in videos like this, but you'll catch on pretty fast. It's a really excellent game, so I highly recommend it. If you played My Time at Portia, a lot of the mechanics and stuff are the same, just a bit more fleshed out.
The game is pretty massive, My Time at Portia was too. There is a lot to do so this is a game to play when you're ready to spend quite a bit of time on it. Patience is the name of the game.
@TheModishGamer great vid but seems to me its more for players who played Portia/simular games;still good vid.im first time player any sim game;questions:1-how to keep up my money(commisions drain my stuff to fast, barely get gold lump/scorpion),im selling wood, plenty to get. 2- is it ok to ignore most main stuff, example= i try not to trigger story, have done till stage build and now im focust on collecting resources till max,btw all my money go to keep access to scrap yard and ruin, everything is still base stuff and running out of space to put chests down ( slowly replacing them with red chests). 3- how do i find/trigger mystery man to come back?.4-by ignoring building for Sandrack ive ended rank 5 and got a warning,do i need to be rank 3 or higher to stay as this character?i like to be prepared hens the extreem grinding gathering but dont know jack about such games, induviduel hints/tips are to many different on ytube.im almost on 10 hours gameplay( im on ps5) and would like to now what resources i have to focus first. 6- im having trouble finding how to upgrade my weapons-how to upgrade items to better quality, all vids are for pc or switch im on p5.im asuming getting gun and farm comes later with main story.7- can my girl character get romance with Min-ra?would like to start second play as a girl character if can marry same sex.thx .
@@geertpenguin9262you know there’s a tutorial tap in the settings right ? And a lot of your questions you can literally just type into Google lol and there’s also other beginner videos
WOW this was really informative!! I've played portia before but I cant remember anything. Was feeling a bit nervous about sandrock but this is great! I wont feel so blindsided anymore when I do play it!
What an amazing tips and tricks video!! I learned so much!!! Thanks! I can’t wait to dive into this game as I loved Portia so much! And this one seems to have improved on a lot and looks like blast!!
I have a hard time with obstacle runs. I just can't run and jump and climb my way through the dungeon that wants me to do that. That made me strand in Portia because I needed to defeat that part to continue. In Sandrock I just ask another player to do it for me, so I can go on and build the next townplan. I can finally enjoy the game fully. It's weird that 2 out of us 4 players date Owen though. Would be nice if it wasn't possible. But we grew to like the weirdness about it.

you can't chop the ones that are alive, the dead ones you can. Easy way to know what you can cut : if it's called something tree it's protected otherwise it's fair game. The ones that were being cut in this video are called deadwood if I remember correctly.
Main tip. As soon as you start the game, go to settings and slow down the clock. Otherwise it feels like you are in a speed run sometimes.

Wow I’ve watched so many guide videos for this game and your comment is the first one to mention this!! Crucial tip, thank you.
Yeah I want a slow chill game
Yeah why set time so fast want a relaxing game while in bed, not got game yet need my new oled Steam Deck first.
Thanks. This game is so addicting and messed up my sleep schedule. Sandrock is a huge step up from Portia with so many quality of life improvements. I just hope they can keep the console versions up to date with the PC version.
The save system honestly *best addition* hated having to play til the end of the day in Portia lol
I'm glad the handbook has crafting recipes. Going back and forth, trying to figure out what items I need was tiresome in Portia.

I've just been curious about getting this game...this is low-key an overwhelming amount of info. Expertly delivered, just SO much

Probably the most well put together tips guide for Sandrock I've seen yet! Thank you for this!
Thank you for someone finally providing an actual tips video. The rest don't compare. Thanks so much! I love this game soooo much!

Great guide covering all the important basics. Good job!
Such a great video!
Great guide. You have earned a sub! :)
Great guide, subbed!
This seems like a more sophisticated Yonder Clod Chronicles
I wish someone could add a mod where it shows each characters liked and loved gifts in-game, similar to a mod in Stardew.
There is a tab now, but it only shows after you have gifted it to them
4:34 it shows the tab
Great video man

The game is so overwhelming. I barely managed in my time at Portia 😢
Good guid.
Why did burgess tell me I can’t chop down trees ???
