Alienadin I fucking love this guy. He really is living my dream. He gets to be a normal dude, then gets to transform in to an 80s guitar god at any time.
So glad Satchel went to Charvel. I've played Charvels/Jacksons since my '89-'90 senior year in high school. That year I spent $600.00 on a Charvel Predator w/ rainbow crackle paint job. Still have it in my collection.
Hamer and Tacoma are the two main ones. Also with Jackson and Charvel it is great seeing them be forces again but it was Fender that made them a shell of what they were in the first place.
I have an 82 Charvel my dad passed down to me. I need to restore it but he played it so much it has the strings worn into the frets. This is so awesome that one of my favorite guitarists plays and has a signature Charvel
yeessss shout out to buck dharma! One of my favorite guitar players, definitely the most under appreciated guitar player of his generation. 50 cool points for satchel!
Man, when im having a bad day, all I have to do is listen to Satchel talk for a minute and I bust out laughing straight away! Love it! Plus no denying what a phenomenal artist he is. Charvel guitars are built great ! The Mexico factory ones to me are truly solid!
Stainless Steel Stainless Steel frets would add something in the region of £200 onto the price. Not worth it, the guitars rock on their own and you have to play a guitar A LOT before you need to worry about fret issues. And also in this world there will be far better uses for stainless steel than on guitar frets. Probably why it costs so much!
Satchel is astonishingly good! I have seen Steel Panter live before. Buck Dharma is one of the most criminally underrated rock guitarist of all time! Did not know Charvel was making Satchel a signature axe! Will absolutely check one out...
I played one of those today but was shredding some death metal on it. It sounded kick ass on a Line 6 . I was cranking that OKA LEAD CHANNEL and Ripping James MURPHY type shit on it. That ax is nice wish it was in extended range 8 string. Love the feel of it
I thought the same thing and said basically the same thing on Instagram. Whoever runs Kramers IG page saw my comment and replied that they are still in production with no plans to stop. Guess we'll see!
Having so much fun, I'll bet Satchel partied at Charvel till they had to shut the place down---and then went to a local open stage a and jammed till the following week!!
Well just meet him after a show, he's usually Russ when you talk to him, he even taught me how to throw a football (I'm not American so I didn't know how)
Kudos to Russ naming Buck Dharma as one of his influences! The reason I called him Russ just then instead of Satchel is because when he’s talking about his actual influences like that...that’s the Russ I know!
fishman pickups in a charvel? im curious. I've never tried fishman pickups before. I've always used Seymour Duncans. my favorite pickup is the El Diablo
I bought a Kramer re-issue of the Baretta & Pacer and they are shredding Machines . But I guess since Gibson is letting the Kramer name die Satchel had to change and Charvels have always been badass guitars . I just always wanted Kramers so got two that are very well built . My only bitch is the cheap Floyd on the Pacer but easily fixed if I decide to , the one on it has worked well so cant bitch for $3 bills !!
Not since the early 80s! From about a little past the mid 80s. George started off putting together his own guitar with the help of Wayne Charvel at Charvels old Iguora Hills shop in Southern California. What he came out with was a orange tinted bengal striped nitrocellose painted graphic on a mighty mite maple body with a Charvel branded bolt on neck. He used that guitar on the famous early Dokken albums like Breaking The Chains and Tooth And Nail era. When Under Lock and Key came out (1985-86) he had transitioned from a brief stint with Krammer guitars and went full endorsed by ESP guitars. Because if you notice in the It's Not Love video George is playing the custom Skull and Bones JFrogg hand carved and built guitar for the first time, thats because JFrogg just finished and handed him that guitar to use in the video and ESP representives were their at the video shoot and told George that he couldn't play any other guitar commercially that wasn't a ESP guitar due to the endorsement contract that stipulated that under the terms he agreed and signed to. So George was pissed but they quickly solved it by ESP technicians having a spare ESP logo decal handy and putting it on the headstock of the Skull and Bones guitar covering JFroggs name. You can see in the video that it had a ESP decal on that guitar but was not built by them. When the video came out and everyone saw that bad ass guitar being played by George for the first time and noticed it was made by ESP guitars everyone called ESP and requested a replica of that exact guitar and ESP was in a bind because that wasn't their design. So I think they paid off JFrogg a hefty sum to sell them the rights to that design and had a brief production guitar roll out with the Skull and Bones ESP USA made guitar replica George Lynch model. So from about 1987 to present George has been with ESP.
It's a "floating tremolo" so you can't see the space for up moves, but that's because is inside the guitar… like… a hole… like a hole where you put your bridge… and then your stick… yes. Do dive-bombs. It's better.
Even if it’s a flat mount you can still pull up as well as down, just not as much as a recessed trem. Unless of course it’s blocked, then it only goes down
This is what makes Fender way more awesome that Gibson, there is something for everyone and they don't treat their artists like crap just based on what they play. Honestly, the only reason I want a Jackson Dinky more than a Charvel is the pointy headstock lol
"David Gilmour, that guy gets a lot of chicks just from his vibrato." haha classic
no google plus What about Paul Kossoff, the best Vibrato of all time. He must have been rolling in the pussy .
Imagine those fingers in a... yeah dude
This DUDE is actually a genius pretending to be a stupid character.
No way! How did you figure that out?
Yup
If you understood sarcasm, you'll understand my comment.
I woke up on the upper side
Love the Schtick! Very amusing...yes you are right!
"I would throw it around my back, but It doesn't have a strap. It would just fly behind me." He is hilarious. The 80s are still here.
Alienadin .....when he said that, it just reminded me of Spinal Tap 😂
Alienadin I fucking love this guy. He really is living my dream. He gets to be a normal dude, then gets to transform in to an 80s guitar god at any time.
if you have to censor Satchel, don't have Satchel on your channel...
... ok...
lmao! perfect response dude.
iamdb1990 Fuck yeah
I thought about the same thing.
So glad Satchel went to Charvel. I've played Charvels/Jacksons since my '89-'90 senior year in high school. That year I spent $600.00 on a Charvel Predator w/ rainbow crackle paint job. Still have it in my collection.
Black hardware on that strat headstock is the most subtly awesome thing a superstrat can have
Wow with Fishman pickups! Kickass Satchel 😁🤘
*rad Satchel
It’s about time he left Kramer. It’s obvious Gibson doesn’t care at all about making Kramer successful.
Ben Funk - They destroyed Steinberger, too. Bunch of shmucks.
Unfortunately this is true. Kramer used to be awesome back in the 80's but not anymore. I'll stick with my 80's Kramer's if i want to play a Kramer.
Both Fender and Gibson have destroyed their fair share of brands unfortunately.
What did Fender destroy? They brought Charvel and Jackson back to life, man! \m/
Hamer and Tacoma are the two main ones. Also with Jackson and Charvel it is great seeing them be forces again but it was Fender that made them a shell of what they were in the first place.
Satchel is seriously a funny guy to listen to.

Satchel. Brilliant, as always.
ordered mine today can't wait!
I'll take it! 😉😉
Cameron Cooper but no stainless steel frets? At this price :(
Stainless Steel Stainless Steel frets would add something in the region of £200 onto the price. Not worth it, the guitars rock on their own and you have to play a guitar A LOT before you need to worry about fret issues. And also in this world there will be far better uses for stainless steel than on guitar frets. Probably why it costs so much!
Hey! It's Cam back at me again! :-)
Cameron Cooper I was wondering if you've seen this yet haha
and you gotta make a review of it
Take. My. Money.
Hey Sean ! Suprised to see you here...
This is somehow the most normal satchel interview I’ve ever seen
Satchel is astonishingly good! I have seen Steel Panter live before. Buck Dharma is one of the most criminally underrated rock guitarist of all time! Did not know Charvel was making Satchel a signature axe! Will absolutely check one out...
Looks like he's planning on joining Stryper with that paint job.
I want one...killer guitar satchel..
Can't wait for Steel Panther do that long awaited serious album one day ,for they have the talent !!
I normally don't do signature gear but I am really wanting this..
About time this happened
This is like the most serious interview from him. Ever.
I love seeing Satchel drop the mask a bit... you can feel he was being himself (as much as Russ can while still in character)
Wonder why they took a year to introduce this. Also wish they gave us the green one as well. Still, can't wait to get one.
Yeah, I want the green one too!
Rad
Rocco Pezzin Rocco Pezzin here people!
This is about the 15th unveil I’ve seen for the New Charvel :) Satch is such a nut though, worth it. Love his ability to ad lib non sense.
Love this dude
Looks great! Hope you'll offer the green one too.
Rock on Satchel, words of wisdom! ( you made our day lol )
I played one of those today but was shredding some death metal on it. It sounded kick ass on a Line 6 . I was cranking that OKA LEAD CHANNEL and Ripping James MURPHY type shit on it. That ax is nice wish it was in extended range 8 string. Love the feel of it
wasn't he originally endorsed by Kramer?
superclaw900 Yes he was.
Gibson ownes Kramer but they discontinued making kramers
Thats what I thought, I figured kramer had died out.
it was really more kramer being endorsed by satchel
I thought the same thing and said basically the same thing on Instagram. Whoever runs Kramers IG page saw my comment and replied that they are still in production with no plans to stop. Guess we'll see!
Satchel might be the coolest guy on the earth.
Arson_ Phil-X is cooler hands down.
Wait! is it 1983 again!?
Yes and I like it
That is a really nice guitar great quality.
Having so much fun, I'll bet Satchel partied at Charvel till they had to shut the place down---and then went to a local open stage a and jammed till the following week!!
I’d love to see an interview with Russ Parrish, not Satchel.
Will never happen probably :(
Well just meet him after a show, he's usually Russ when you talk to him, he even taught me how to throw a football (I'm not American so I didn't know how)
I met him 25? Years ago. Cool dude! Talked so much about how song writing is more important than shredding! Cool guy, man I’m getting old!
Satchel plays the comedy to a tee! This is a fucking art form!
I need the grandmother's refrigerator.
damn, was really hoping for the green one
This guy's a total GEEK
Shout out to Buck Dharma! I like it!
I sooo love this! My youth!
Kudos to Russ naming Buck Dharma as one of his influences! The reason I called him Russ just then instead of Satchel is because when he’s talking about his actual influences like that...that’s the Russ I know!
Imagine bringing this guitar to a jazz gig.
Good for Russ. Funny guy, great player. Used to see him play with Atomic Punks.
"Connect this to your grandma's refrigerator and turn it to 10" LMAO :D
Usually don't like the stripes but this color really grabs ya. Kinda like Mountain Dew.
This guy is the raddest guy Ive ever seen!!!!!!
Reminds me of my 89 Charvel m4 that I till have.
Love the satin finish.
Awesome band
Yes, Buck Dharma is one of the best. My favorite!!
bout time someone gave some fuckin props to Buck Dharma, his solo on the live version of veteran of the psychic wars is one of the best ever played
Lol this guy that paint job always reminds me of the George Lynch guitar
Yup. Not too original
I'm pretty sure it is an intentional George Lynch reference. Their whole 80s thing is tongue-in-cheek.
I hear ya
You are correct. It's pretty obvious honestly
Any plans to release the green version he uses? Love that one
does it go to 11
I would probably look really cool playing one of those guitars
This guy is great. Satchel is hilarious.
Are there any mods made to Satchel's guitars? I'm thinking about buying the Purple one. Is it just stock?
Yooo, those are Fishman pickups! Good shit dude!
Edit: Okay he mentions that later in the video lmao
fishman pickups in a charvel? im curious. I've never tried fishman pickups before. I've always used Seymour Duncans. my favorite pickup is the El Diablo
I order one when will I be seeing it?
Would look awesome in red and black
So many people on here missing the joke.
I was hoping for the green one
It would help if he demoed the tones of that guitar
Steel Panther kicks ass
does anyone know if the tone cleans up when you lower the volume with these pups?
Of course. With a tube amp. Might not work that well on all digital stuff. but yea they do
John Gregory thanks. I had that problem with a Kramer but I was using a modeling amp at the time . so like you say probably with tubes.
Buck Dharma I modeled my style from him and Pat Travers in the mid 70's
What happened to your Kramers?
this dude is my fuckin hero
We all saw this coming! 😁
I bought a Kramer re-issue of the Baretta & Pacer and they are shredding Machines . But I guess since Gibson is letting the Kramer name die Satchel had to change and Charvels have always been badass guitars . I just always wanted Kramers so got two that are very well built . My only bitch is the cheap Floyd on the Pacer but easily fixed if I decide to , the one on it has worked well so cant bitch for $3 bills !!
satchel is the best guitarist of steel panther
George Lynch has been playing ESP exclusively since the early 80s!
Not since the early 80s! From about a little past the mid 80s.

Is that Floyd top mounted? If so that is awesome as i really prefer a top mounted FR.
yes it is ;)
Thanks for the reply man. I thought so but i wasn't sure :)
Heaven forbid Satchel’s life ever gets to the point that he has to do so, but he would be a blast to take lessons from.
Damn that body shape is awesome
I WANT IT.....NOW!
Is this tremolo only for divebombs? Because I can't see any space for "upbombs" :)
Fransia Potiente only down a la EVH.
Yes...
It's a "floating tremolo" so you can't see the space for up moves, but that's because is inside the guitar… like… a hole… like a hole where you put your bridge… and then your stick… yes. Do dive-bombs. It's better.
Yeah i thought that...i have an older model with no space at all...anyway its a great guitar...
Even if it’s a flat mount you can still pull up as well as down, just not as much as a recessed trem. Unless of course it’s blocked, then it only goes down
he should have some 3d with the stripes carved in, that would be rad
Nice! My only complaint is that the headstock isn't pointy.
I’d buy that for a dollar!
This is what makes Fender way more awesome that Gibson, there is something for everyone and they don't treat their artists like crap just based on what they play. Honestly, the only reason I want a Jackson Dinky more than a Charvel is the pointy headstock lol
Wonder what the price is like. And if they make lefty
Of course it isn't available lefty. It's cool and functional and not in black finish
Too expensive.
Hands Down best best Signature charvel out there..... Oh Wait i forgot about guthrie
I love how he mentioned David Gilmour
I NEED that guitar! Is it a Pro Mod or USA?
Does that guitar come with a free pair of spandex pants?🤔
My refrigerator goes to 11.
Yo Charvel make a Pro mod style 2 with a c shape neck and you got yourselves the perfect guitar
Satchel FTW
Black out in the red Room intro!
I have a 1987 charvel #1 black maple board chain saw case. the best ,plus it has a pointed headstock, go find one. will not trade for the remake.
"It'll cost.. at least 200"-Satchel in Chicago in December
Damn, everybody’s on Fishmans now
Why'd Satchel leave Kramer?
InkyPunk from what people said "Gibson owns Kramer and discontinued Kramer"
Ive never been a fan of 80s looking guitars, but i love Steel Panther and id buy this just to play Gangbang at the old folks home lmfao
