I just had to get online and comment publically about your chili seasoning mix. First, I have made four pots of chili in my life and honestly, the majority was thrown away. So, I had to give it one last try since your recipes have been really good to my southern palate. So, I invested in all the things you listed, measured each into a jar, and tried it today. It is absolutely spot on! All I had to add was my typical hot sauce to my bowl. This is my go-to seasoning for chili from now on! Thank you.
Oh Ms Lori! I made a big pot of chili today using your chili seasoning mix. My husband said it was the best chili he’s ever had and that’s saying a lot coming from him. I’m glad I doubled the seasoning mix recipe & have plenty more on hand for the next time. So thank you!! God bless y’all ❤️🙏🏻
Miss Lori you are definitely a Proverbs 31 woman. TY for sharing your home with us and taking time to teach us how to bake, cook, and can etc. Lord bless you and your family.
Hi Mrs. brown, I've been following your videos for sometime now and just love your homemade recipes. I was born and raised in West Virginia, our mother was a great cook, but we did not get very many of her recipes. Basically we were plain folk, when mom made something unless it was Thanksgiving or Christmas, her main ingredients was salt, pepper and lard to cook with. But when holiday days came around my goodness could she ever put out a meal. She didn't start using premade mixes until later in life, because it was easy for her. I'm just about ready to turn 70, but I still love to cook. I'm also still working, but only for one more year, then I will be moving back to those West Virginia mountains that I love so much. You and Mr. Brown have a blessed day and may the good Lord always look over you!!
Your chili seasoning sounds great with a novel twist that I think would be delicious. I bet you made that candle, smell good pot, too. You need to show it off. It was a peaceful addition to the kitchen.
I am so happy to receive your recipe, this is Awesome to make and especially homemade. Feeling truly blessed !!! Thank You Sweet Lady !!! God Bless You Always as Well !!! ✝️💟🥰🙌🏻🙌🏻❤️

Great recipe, Mrs Brown, perfect for our Fall weather! I'm glad to hear you're back to work. I'm in Wa State - we're still shut down. Sunday I started a big ol pot of pear butter, it turned out super good and I canned it up yesterday. Prayers and God's blessings to all.
Sounds delicious...I love a good pot of chili and with beans, some in my family ...namely my brother & son-in-law dont like the beans in chili ... in anything 😄...not me , I was brought up on pinto bean soup w/ chopped onion , cornbread & fried potatoes , for me , its still the best meal ever !! Then it would be a good pot of chili with beans . I know your chili powder will be xx good ..bcoz , u sweet lady , make the best dishes & so very well informed !! I watched a chef add chocolate to his pot of chili about 12-15 yrs ago ...he also made it with , not hamburger meat , but stew meat . I've used the chocolate but never tried the beef stewmeat ..I've wanted to. In fact just talking to my daughter .. next time I make chili , I'm using stewmeat , I just got a big package of it .. so I'll let you know how it is . I love your voice...I just know when your kids were babies , they cried that your voice soothed them to sleep !! So love your alls channel... you 2 are wonderful loving people ...so enjoyable !! I have always put cocoa powder in my chili, it is so good made with it. It is such a good idea to have all the spices mixed and ready to go. I never thought to do that and I have been cooking for 47 years. I have learned so much from you, thank you!
I've eaten chili with the cocoa in it. I have fabulous taste buds, & for me, I simply don't care for cocoa OR cinnamon in my chili. However, I will say that your blend (without cocoa) sounds very delicious! I'll have to do that. Thanks for sharing & have a beautiful day. 🌅
I have never seen coco in chili mix. I’m going to have to try that. I have a chili mix recipe I got from Pinterest that we really like and I use it for everything Mexican.
Starlene Arnold I’m glad to share! 10 Tablespoons chili powder 1 & 1/2 teaspoons each of garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano 3 teaspoons paprika 3 teaspoons ground coriander 3/4 teaspoon ground red pepper 6 teaspoons cumin 6 teaspoons each of salt and pepper (use your judgement on this) Mix all together and store in airtight container. I use this in chili, Mexican lasagna, chicken quesadillas and well, anything Mexican. I hope you enjoy and let me know how it turns out.
I'm making a big pot of chili today, and will share with neighbors. I'm going to make some of your seasoning and use it. It sounds wonderful 😋 Thanks for sharing
We eat a lot of chili, so I'm looking forward to trying this. Interesting that you use the cocoa powder, my grandmother, mother & now I, have always used a dash of the mornings' left over coffee to add to soups, stews, etc. and especially to chocolate icings or cakes, it gives things a deeper flavor.
Ahh girl! You can just tell your from Texas with that cocoa powder. Going to put Edward right on it! Love Cee from the little haunted cottage in Ireland 💚💚💚🍀🍀🍀
Thank you for sharing. I will be mixing up a batch of this real soon. Love that you added the cocoa. I always add that to my chili, will be nice to have it already in the mix. Hope you an Mr. Brown have a blessed day an stay warm.
Mrs. Lori thank you for putting up different spices so that we can use them, I was making chili and I realized I did not have a package for making chili so I went to your site and thankfully you had a recipe up I used the recipe and the chili came out fantastic, thank you. Thank you for sharing.
This seasoning sounds very well rounded and delicious.... never thought about using unsweetened cocoa powder in it. I've always just used the basic garlic powder, chili powder (love Mexene Chili Powder) and Cumin, so I'm definitely gonna have to give this one a try. I also love that you can control the sodium level which is a plus for my individual body ❤ Can't wait for the Plum Pepper Jelly video... my grandma had numerous plum thickets on her property and we'd make this every year... Of course that was many moons ago, so excited to see it made again!......Hugs, prayers and blessings, always ------------ ❤ Rebecca
Hi Lori, This seasoning blend is similar to making chicken mole. Chicken mole sauce contains chocolate , peanut butter and cinnamon. It is delicious. I love you seasoning blend and a great idea to keep on hand. Thanks.
Oh goodness! This is gonna make for some FABULOUS chili! Can't wait to try this! I LOVE the fall, and all the wonderful comfort foods associated with it, not to mention the holidays coming up. Thanks SO much for sharing this with us! God bless.

Thank you Mrs Lori we love chili so much that we even eat it when it's hot outside and I well be trying this sounds amazing... God Bless you and your hubby for all you do I have tried a lot of the things you make and I love it all...
This is a good blend. Used it today making a pot of chili. The only difference is I used dark ,organic chocolate in hard form (out of bakers chocolate). I’ll try the powder next time. Its a good blend for standard,Midwest chili (vegetable juice based with beans).
Sounds so tasty! I make my own chili powder, but never have thought to make a 'sauce' mix. Gonna give it a try! Some trivia for you: Chili is traditionally made with Mexican oregano, and what we typically can buy at the store is Greek oregano. My research on it a couple years ago suggested if you cannot get Mexican oregano, that marjoram is more like it than Greek oregano. I was a little surprised by this, since I didn't even know there were two types of oregano, lol! Hope you have a wonderful weekend! Oh, and I always add cocoa powder to my chili. It really adds some earthiness to it.
Can't wait to try. We just made Crazy Crust Pizza....omg...we ate the whole pan...I would love to be your neighbor so I can learn more and try the coffee..Your a Blessing to me as you keep me company in these trying times
Got a few of your seasonings in my pantry now, they are really good. By the way made your Pumpkin Cheesecake, really dangerous Ms. Lori can’t just have one piece, delicious. We are going through a bit of a scary time over here right now, trying to stay safe. Take care luv Mary from England
I like this recipe. I cannot eat beef so u can use chicken bullion instead but I like the idea of the seasoning blending together while they sit in the jar. I do this with my taco seasoning too.
I can listen to you talk all day, reminds me of my gram. Its so comforting to listen to. ❤️ Love your channel!
