I don’t know if you’ve done another Austin original…”WARMEST WINTER”…..he wrote it about his grandmother, who he had been very close to…it’s ..BEAUTIFUL 💗🙏💗❄️👼‼️….(Yes, it’s a gut grabber🙃💗‼️)….just listen to the words💗❣️💗
Sorry I missed the live feed, Red! Work and all. 😒 But I just got back, and here it is! What a great song! I hadn't heard this before! Love your reactions, as always! 😀
Are you a Home Fry? In my eyes you have to meet three criteria: 1.) Like Home Free. 2.) Be able to name them. 3.) Know what they normally do... ie bass, baritone, lead, tenor, beat box. Once you can do that I'll accept you as a Home Fry. Keep in mind though, I'm just a standard home fry myself, I'm nothing special and have no naming rights.
Oppff. I don’t think I qualify as naming the parts of each is very difficult for me to hear. But I do really like them. Maybe there is a home fry jr category or home fry lite.
@@redheadedneighbor Well, here's your cheat-sheet: Adam - beat boxer, Tim - Bass, Adam 'Chance' - Baritone, Rob - Lead, Austin - Tenor. As you have experienced though they take turns leading. But, again, I'm not authorized to hand out titles. The one you need to ask is yourself. If you consider yourself a Home Fry, you're a Home Fry.
That's one of the (many) reasons I like HF; you never know what to expect (except for the song to be good)! And I'd say you're definitely a Home Fry! Merry Christmas!
Enjoy your reactions so much, you make a video I've watched numerous times feel like I'm seeing it for the first time. The teddy bear guy is Rob. I think some of the reasons Home Free's music sounds so full is their tight harmonies, they all can beatbox (not like Adam but they're pretty good) , they all have more than one or two vocal ranges and their egos take a backseat to their music. Wishing you and yours the most wonderful Christmas ever. Love, light and blessings always.
"This song was not what I expected" is the perfect description of Home Free! You "get" them...and should now self-identify as a Home Fry! This is your 11th HF reaction (not counting one of Adam's drum solos), so you are ready for "Mayday!" HF's performance ( ua-cam.com/video/znoV5gND9g0/v-deo.html ) is a cover...and it's always best to know the original before reacting to covers. Cam's original is here: ua-cam.com/video/eRrCMEXPjWo/v-deo.html Neither will be what you're expecting! 🙂
@@margfried8796 I have a feeling that she won't be surprised by Mayday - she's seen O Holy Night and Do You Hear - he goes relatively high in both of those.
I've watched any number of HF reaction videos at this point (it's a way to pretend you're not just watching the original video over and over), and "I was not expecting that" is BY FAR the most common remark, even outpacing "wow, that guy sings real low", "wow, that guy sings real high" and "are we *sure* the beatboxer is human?" (Spoiler: no. We think his real name is Zorlak, but much remains to be cleared up.) Red, I don't like to judge people by their accents, but is it possible you're from parts south? If so, have you checked out their latest tour itinerary? I pity the fool who has the chance to see them live and doesn't. I mean, no pressure.
@@uosuaq the amazing thig is taht the THING they are surprised by is different from song to song - chord progression, type/genre of song, tempo as opposed to the original, who takes lead, who they are collaborating with/featuring... if you get bored watching HF videos, I'd be worried.
OMG, how do they do that! I loved your reaction to this! You have a smile that lights up the screen. Loved that pirouette that Tim did towards the end. Here are some more suggestions: End of the Road (Boys to Men), Helplessly Hoping (Crosby, Stills, & Nash, it was a love song by Stephen Stills about Judy Collins), Delta Dawn, the list just goes on and on!
These guys just do not miss They are absolutely the best out there. I mean I like pentatonix and voice play. But home free. They have the perfect harmonies.
Please react to 'Wonder As I Wander - Epic Version' by Simon khorolskiy. Wonder as I wander is a less known Christmas song and Simon does an amazing job on it.
I don't think I've steered you wrong so far in my prior comments...so my personal favorites? "Dive Bar Saints"...(you'll see every honky tonk bar and it's patron that you've ever visited)...Story telling like Billy Joel and "Piano Man." Hmmm....."One Man Band".....life on the road as an entertainer, looking for love. "Some Girls Do"...featuring Adam Chance who gets too few spotlights....That'll keep ya busy for a while when ya throw in the Christmas list ya gotta get through!
This song was written and produced by Tim Foust...Lead singer... He worked writting songs for a number of Artists early in His Carreer ..Before joining Home Free!
I just love each of your reactions to Home Free. For so long they did mostly covers, but they are just as talented as song writers and composers as you see from this example. For some more original love songs I would suggest "Whats Left Of My Heart" or "Understand." Maybe after the Holidays settle down. They released a whole album of original music earlier this year entitled "So Long Dixie." Those two songs were part of that album. I know they will be right up your alley as they say and you will fall more in love with them than you already are. I believe you are definitely a Home Fry. Welcome to the family. Happy Holidays.
RHN we love how Home Free reaches their audience and surprizes them emotionally and you did not disappoint. 🥰 They are an amazing group and their presentations are superb. Glad you enjoy them. ❣
Thanks for the reaction! Another song you might want to check out is their cover of a Stevie Wonder song, "What Christmas Means to Me". Rob takes the lead in that one. His voice is so soulful.
Earlier today they released a new version of Colder Weather which is also beautiful. That's a cover, but Tim and Austin both write great love songs - try What's Left of My Heart, or Stargazer Lilies.
Tim has a 5 octave Range which although unusual for a bloke, not as unusual for a Bass Singer. Geoff Castellucci of Voiceplay also has a 5 Octave Range as also does Avi Caplan. There are others too.
This is probably my favorite of the Home Free original songs. It was written by Tim, and for sure could be described as do-wop. Tim loves him some do-wop which you'll discover if (when) you explore some of his solo work. As good as this is, I'm not convinced it's a Christmas song. It would sound just fine on anybody's play list any time of year.
Tim the one in front of, the very low bass was into his 4th octave in this song. Tim has a great ability to write a very catchy hook in a song! This was no exception! Great song, delivery, and video. Great job by you as well! Your friend, low bass Kenneth! PS warmest winter, Austin’s original, you might need a tissue but it’s a great song!
Tim is a big fan of doo-wop, so it’s not surprising this song gave that vibe. In fact, last year he released an entire album of doo-wop covers from the 50s and early sixties as a personal project. It’s called Pieces of Me Volume 1 and several songs are available on his UA-cam channel.
@balansboy Great comment! Early on, while Tim has the lead, is that Chance down there on the B1 to E2 little progression (sung beneath "...but like a snow globe...")? I didn't realize he could sing in the #1 octave. WOW!!
Hello! Since you love Home Free please check out Mayday, Helplessly Hoping, Feel My Love(they are being very silly in this), Singing to a woman and making them laugh is hard to find, but they pull it off!
