Tim and Chance did a beautiful job on this song . I love Chance's baritone voice and I love when Tim hit the high note on this song YOUR MAN. The harmonies is beautiful and Adam's beatboxing was great. 😊❤❤❤❤❤
Austin has left by now, but I know that they filmed at least one other song with him. Maybe two. But they also filmed their first video with Bastien the weekend before last. From what I could tell (haven't heard him with the guys yet, except for the short snipped they put into the video "Adam Bastiens First Weekend") he'll fit right in and I have a feeling that he can be just as silly as the others. Austin will certainly be missed, but I'm sure they'll be just as great with Bastien. I don't compare him to Austin except for that fact that he is a high tenor, too. They are different persons with their own unique voices and talents and it wouldn't be fair to either of them.

When I came to Home Free, Chance was already in the group so I missed that transition that the Home Fries went through when Chris decided to leave the group. It will be hard watching them without Austin's familiar face and voice being there. However I know the group will continue to amaze us with their great harmonies and arrangements. This song has been a staple with the group for years and Tim has blown speakers with his low note at the end of the song on occasion. If you get the chance watch some of those videos. They are hilarious. Love your reactions to Home Free. They are always the highlight of my week.

From what I understand there are two more videos of Austin yet to come before he finally departs. Adam joined the boys for his first concert and then they went to the Grand Ole Opry. You can hear him sing a little at the end of the song Delta Dawn. He does well. Tim and Chance killed this song. Tim was just showing a little of that 5 octave range he has. Loved the band members looks…hahaha. Good one Red!😍😄
The bit where Tim goes high and everyone looks at him and there's crickets for a second is basically a quick reference to what they've often done at shows, where Tim starts going nuts up there and finally Rob's like "hey, hey, hey! this is a bass solo, right? and you were doing fine, but now you're up in our territory (gesturing to, at the time, Austin). you need to be down here." Austin comes over and stamps on the floor and points at it. Tim's like "oh, okay" and then does a gradual slide up from the bottom of his range (which, interestingly, is beneath the bottom of the standard musical scale, so people have been using the Richter scale). In one of my favorite live versions, the sound suddenly gets real thin as he does this, and although you can still hear Tim, it's clear that the bass speaker has given up the ghost. He's like "sorry!"
I'm just going to say this every time I comment and maybe it'll eventually land in some subliminal way:
There's a song called "9 to 5", by Dolly someone, which they absolutely slay. As another commenter contributed, you should really do it back to back with the "beatbox breakdown" version, which is a typical audience recording, but holy moly does that version get all Rupped up.
“Dolly someone”? You can’t remember the last Part-on her name? 😉
It draws the audience (and maybe Red) in to play a bit stupid. It's like the old saying "if you want a correct, detailed answer to something, don't bother with research; just post a wrong answer on the internet and stand back."

I loved this version of the song. I really enjoy watching the original video also. Bastien has sung with Home Free in the past, before they did The Sing Off. He also sang in a group that Chris Rupp started after he left Home Free called 7th Ave. You can find it here on UA-cam if you want to hear more of him singing. That was such a great remake of this song! Nice to hear Chance singing some of the lines. Always loved Tim's crazy low notes along with his fabulous highs. Also love Adam's cool percussion sounds in this version too.
There are some older live versions of this song that are very funny.
This one and the first one (marked LIVE even though it really isn't) have the mildest reactions from the other guys. All the other have Rob and Austin really getting after him about it. The long one in Morrison IL 8/19/15 is the best for me.

I have always loved when they perform this one and Tim has the perfect voice for it but i really do like the addition of Chance's voice. I'm glad they kept the funny part. Thanks for the. Home Free reactions. Bastien isn't really new to Home Free and has a great voice and personality. Our boys will be just fine.

Adam Bastien (Bass-teen) has a long history with Home Free. In the early days, he would sometimes sub in for their high tenor as needed. And when the boys went on the Sing Off in 2013, Bastien was the high tenor in their “B” group, which performed the gigs that Home Free had already scheduled, while the main guys of Home Free went on the show.
Tim rocks this!!
Just goes to show you how interchangeable Tim and Chance can be in the base. When Tim is doing something else Chance can take the lead or do all that base stuff that makes Home Free sound so good. Love Chance's voice anyway no matter what part he is singing. As far as the New Adam, he is not replacing Austin he is joining Home Free and we will see what that turns out to sound like. It will be different, we all loved Austin but he is history as far as Home Free is concerned so just look forward and replay all the last 10 years of Home Free to relive the past. It is time to look to the future. Chance's start with Home Free was pretty low key and I did not really appreciate him for a while and he still is surprising me with how good he is. I think I really woke up to Chance on "American Pie!"

They have been doing this song live for a while, this is proper music video for it and I love their subtle changes. The place you rewound is where the guys get onto him for being on their part! Chance’s velvety vocals on this = romance 🥰. I am positive regarding Bastien (Bass- teen). I saw the HF video of his launch, and found 2 videos of him with 7th Ave. “Footloose” and “Bring Him Home”. He is impressive. Seeing HF live in September, and I can’t wait!
I love their Uptown Funk video. Bastien also performs with Jerome Bell as OneUp or OneUpDuo.

I admit I was incorrect. There's a newer version of "Champagne Taste (on a Beer Budget), an original by Tim Foust, premiering tomorrow at noon Central time. It MAY be Austin's final video. Adam Bastien will presumably be in videos from late this month.

I love this official video. They used to do this song a lot at their concerts so there are a few live fan cam videos which are hilarious.

there's a couple left in the can with Austin but there is a new one with Bastine (Bass + teen) He's been with the group before in the early days so he knows what he's getting into. I'll never leave the HF journey many of us have been through the member shifts before it's always a heartbreak that becomes something like falling in love all over again so I have no doubts. Besides Austin has a right to slow down and do family stuff and he needed to leave early because his fur baby Titus got Cancer Austin took him to his Chemo appointments. Titus is doing well . No more nose bleeds YEAH !

Adam 3 has sung with Chris Rupp in 7th Ave along with Tristin Rupp. I do know one is Footloose. 7th Ave also did Rockin Robin with Rob and his whistling.
Bass-teen is how it is pronounced. The one thing I was worried about with whoever they picked was could that person match Austin's stage energy. Bastien certainly appears to be able to do that. There have been a few negative comments, but not very many. I think it might have helped a few of the doubters that Austin gave Bastien a wonderful vote of confidence in his and Amberly's livestream the week before Bastien's first concerts. Some were not getting over the thought that HF was actually going to put someone new in that group. And, technically, he is NOT new - he was with HF long before Austin ever was.

Outside of outstanding vocals - starring Tim "as performed by HF", we have the lows and build to the highs ... And this go, we get a change-up having Chance!
As for Bass (fish) - teen ... it's gonna work! It's not his 1st go with HF. There's gonna be some adjusting on things... blends/harmonies and such; we had that with Chance when he 1st came on --- the LIVE is what Ima talkin' 'bout! But you'll have that, of who's gonna go where and suchs. Character? we don't know, but we'll learn -- gotta give it a lil bit! : ) Be Safe
Sorry it’s been awhile since I’ve been here. Took a slight break from UA-cam a little. This was a great reaction! I agree it was definitely worth the triple replay of Tim’s high notes! Their faces were a homage to their old skit from older tour days when Tim sang that song. You could do a deep dive from 2013 to 2014ish to find this song live and see the funny faces! It’s worth it! Lol The new guy is Adam Bastien (pronounced Basteen). Austin has left the group, but I believe there are at least a couple more videos for songs from the Crazyer Life album. One should be released this Friday. I would imagine the last one will follow shortly after. I am a Patron member so I do know for sure about the one for this Friday. I do know they’ve recorded a video with Bastien already,but don’t know when it will be released.
