Whatever NATOs roots were, having the US lead and force members to buy mostly US made hardware etc (can’t have Turkey having S-400) is its main function. Having an enemy, real or imagined is vital to good business.

We surround Russia with allies and missiles and they act shocked when Russia simply does an exercise in there own country. Talk about borders, we should have a military presence on our borders so all these illegals and drugs aren’t following in. Good luck with the politicians trying to sell American people on a war with Russia because no way more than 10% would support it. This isn’t 2003 when they took advantage of our emotions after 9/11 to go into Iraq off lies. He isn't wrong considering they're involvement in what was an illegal war in Iraq....yes a very "defensive" (a word that keeps being used in the media regarding nato) organisation.... when their members invade another country on false accusations along side the US. Thats without involvement invading the rest of the middle east.
Propaganda twisted to make it out to be a war on terror when really it's what basically caused it in the first place.

Why is it that no other country in eastern Europe feels threatened by Nato? Because I believe there is no reason to. And Putin and Lavrov know that NATO won't attack but they are putting the NATO expansion as a threat to their security in order to justify future invasions into neighbouring countries. What does all the Nato countries have in common? Missile systems. If such a system is placed there, its a massive security risk. 02:00 - Poland... independent country, member of NATO defence structure.
    It is called reciprocity..
    On its borders:
Russian Nuclear missiles and circa 150 000 military stationed in Kaliningrad.
Next to it is Belarus that has its army directly integrated under the command structure of Russian Military.
Russian troops and nuclear bombers stationed there and making mock attacks on Poland.
Yes, given the History of Russian invasions of Poland..And recent behaviour of Russian diplomatic circles and military aggressive posture, Poland will organise it's defenses as it feels is adequate to the threat posed by Russia.
Also it should to develop or acquire sufficient deterrent against potential Russian aggression that Moscow will respect.
If Poland will decide to built its own nuclear hypersonic missiles and point these at Russian cities. That is within their own rights.
    Again It is called reciprocity..
