This is a recap video of the multiple streams that were recorded while animating the character "Snow" in an acting shot. In this video Rik briefly touches the steps he took in order to make this shot. If you want to see more about a certain step of his workflow, please check the timestamps below. Man. Animating the character must have taken a lot of time.
Yeah, animating a short scene like this can take anywhere from a day or two, to many months. it all depends how much you're willing to work on it, and how patient you are :D

How many frames per second was the animation project doing while the reference was playing
Hi, I want to start learning animation soon, but before I start I want to clear this question and hope you can help. I saw sometimes people animate a walk by keeping the character at same place and sometime they make character move away from the root bone. Obviously, these two technique has their own name but I am too moron to figure it out. May I ask what are these two technique called and why use one instead of the other. Thanks 🙏
If you have a chance not to move root bone you need to keep it in place. U need root bone for walk-run-idle-attack-defend-jump CYCLES for example. This way you can use your animation later in every place you want by moving root bone in any place and any tempo. Also this will allow you to use animations in UE or Unity much easier. If you are making a scene with action like "Hero stands up from the bed and walks into bathroom to take a teethbrush" or anything like this, you still need to NOT touch root at all. Root will remain in world origin. Root bone is needed when u have finished cyclic animation and want to change location to it. Im not sure my english was good but hope it will help you

Hi, thank you for a really cool character! And I need help.
IK and FK gizmos work perfectly. But how to make a regular meta rig (with bones) work? I need it for, say, implementing Mixamo animations to this character.
Regular meta rig doesn't work out of the box with this character.
So I click "A" (in a View Port), then "Ctrl + P" - and choose "With Automatic Weights".
And then I face a big problem: when I move the mesh in pose mode with a regular meta rig, Ik/FK gizmos just stay at their initial places.
Could you say please how to fix this issue?

Learn to do research. If you bothered to look at the Blender Studios released videos you would see the 5 videos Rik did.... Starting with Live Character Animation 'Acting' with Rik Schutte pt.1
There is a saying that goes in the lines of "art is never done, it is only abandoned". We'll always find something to improve, it is never done until you say it is done.
If you have free tym then make a video on "adding SFX to animation" and final editing.
question : how do you click on graph editor (like X location ) then you can selected only X location the other can't be selected while you crop? sorry for my bad english
