You want decent shark and bad ray... Go to the end of Lewelling Blvd San Leandro. Walk the road to the bay edge and head right for a hundred or so yards and when you see a marsh drainage toss squid at high tide. Bats and leopards for days. And occasionally a striper and sturgeon.

I would like smelt tempura, first time I had fried smelt was decades ago. Washington coast, found a landing net with a hole in it, my Grandma had a 2 piece bathing suit with fish net connecting top and bottom. Walked into a very steep sandy surf, my uncle holding once side, me the other and Grandma holding the hole closed on the net. Wave after wave of several smelt in the net and several in Grandma's fish net bathing suit. It was a great fish fry. Oh, forgot to mention we were camping along the coast and everything just came together.
Taku since Hiro lives in Miami and Brook Crist and Landshark doesn't live that far away you definitely need to take a trip to Florida also while you're there hook up with DeerMeat for dinner

In Navajo we have the same type of dish but for sheep...we use the liver, heart, lungs, small intestine and some if the stomach fat to and mix it all together. I don't remember what it is called right no though
