Sometimes you have the points but during a training exercise where your company commander wants to be "just one of the guards" during a sally port entry and you as the E-4 being the only one in the unit who has deployed and worked a sally port so you get put in charge. You then as the E-4 have to correct your "guard" because they kept putting their knees on the ground instead of squatting over the detainee, put their knee in the back of the detainee, or tried a chock hold on a detainee that was compliant. After the exercise you are told for the next 30 minutes how you should not correct the commander then for the next 50 mins sit in the smoking pit while every NCO comes over to tell you how good you did and how funny it was that the commander looked like a fuzzy chest knowing nothing. Then weirdly the next month the guy who did not know we were waking up at 0330 for that training gets a 5.

If the Army promoted based on the knowledge of your MOS, then a lot of these shiz bag NCOs will have not made the cut. That summer of 1990 my battalion (4/325) had mandatory EIB Training and qualification. They were both shitbags and I have no idea why their command put them in for this. I thought I had the win in the bag.....Yeah no...they gave it to the guy that attacked the chaplain and had his weapon taken away from him. Cobra Kai never dies!!!
This reminds me when I was up for a reward from the state of Colorado. They gave an award to outstanding soldiers and people from different branches. It was a like an award ceremony where you competed against 2 other people per category. When I got there I noticed I knew the guys I was against. They were both shitbags and I have no idea why their command put them in for this. I thought I had the win in the bag.....Yeah no...they gave it to the guy that attacked the chaplain and had his weapon taken away from him. I guess he got put in for the award before all this happened. They gave it to him because he was a chaplain's assistant and helped at churches. What a world we live in.
Get some real soldiers under you... Lmfao, have you met the Cav? Wait you said under you, carry on, the Cav always rides hard. Scout's Out!
