Great travel tips! You guys are always on the move. Cheers
Very entertaining and informative video. I’m super excited for my trip to Norway!! Cheers
I'm planning a trip to Norway for next year with my best mate so these videos are perfect, thank you!
+KonnichiWagwan you're welcome!
Do not forget Oslo Mikrobryggeri - they claim to be the oldest microbrewery in Scandinavia. And they make very good beer. Me being a Norwegian who favors proper light lagers, Oslo/Norway is not a good and affordable place. I always go to Czech to get proper lagers. Na Zdravi 🍻🍻
Been to all those bars, and agree with everything you said! The beer culture in Norway is great and a must for any beer lover.
+nealcon amen to that! Amazing place, took us by surprise.
You guys should come back to Oslo now. Lots of new microbreweries and tap rooms.
Aaaahhhhh! I love the message for Heineken.
+EarMode haha. Me too! Hoping no one got in trouble coz I posted it...
Thank you for the nice video. I live just around the corner from Sara and Crowbar, fun to see through other eyes.
Like one of the others in here said, Tilt is a fun place to visit as well, there's Gaasa n Storgata, two blocks down. Down in the Grønland neighbourhood you have a fine establishment, in an old Vienna cafe style, called Olympen (or Lompa, after a flat soft potatobread we have around our hot-dogs, as the locals say).
In Kvadraturen, the inner city, just behind the old Akershus Castle, next to Dubliner, you have the Whiskey Bar, another place to get some fine craft beers, like the new Oslo brewery St. Halvard.
Behind the town hall, there's Dr. Jekyll's Pub, with quite the extensive list of beers.
Further west, why not check out Cafe Laundromat and Cafe Nero around the corner from Bislett stadium?
The thirst for craft beers grows and grows, and older places like Lorry (Behind the Royal Palace) and Gamle Major try to keep up as well, with one being a stop for Belgian beers and the other for Norwegian craft beers.
On Foursquare, I have a humble list called "Oslo Beer Safari" (among others) which I try to keep up to date (things change really quite fast these days).
+Morten Aastad amazing tips! Thanks so much! Everyone who reads this, check out the Oslo Beer Safari!!!
The Craft Beer Channel Thank you for your kind words :-)
Nice video, Oslo is a great city!
+Ethan Block it sure is. Amazing night life for such a small city.
Hey, you just filmed my route home from work. I try to stay away from those places as often as I can. But I fall for the temptation to drop by all to often...
Haha! Anywhere I missed that also tempts you?
Tilt, it's pretty close to Crow. They have a good selection on taps, and usually have severall Norwegian beers on bottles. And they have shuffleboards, pinballmachines and some of the sitting groups have arcade machines in the table, so you can play old arcade games and drink beer.
Nedre Foss Gård, it's pretty new, opened this summer. They have a very nice location and can have up to 30+ beers on tap.
And offcourse in the middle of all the places you went to there lies Oslo's BrewDog-pub, also opened this summer. It's nothing fancy about that, but they sometimes have some good surprises on tap.
Those three are up there amongst those which I sometimes drop by, and they are very close to the ones you visited. :)
cool
Looks amazing! I never would have thought they were so into good beers in Norway, especially given the prices. But maybe the high price weeds out all but the diehards.
+Emmet Kiberd Actually even the bad stuff is very expensive. I think it's driven lots of people to do it themselves and helped grow the massive homebrew scene in Norway, and means many people save their money and go big at the weekends.
+Emmet Kiberd A shitty beer in Norway cost around 2 quid in a shop. It's 4 quid in a bar if you find the right one, but we also earn more then other countries.
Cool video, I think I'm heading to Oslo in December. What are the prices like?
+Terry Dolan awful! But the quality justifies it in the right places.
+The Craft Beer Channel Thanks for the reply! I saw 85k on one of the beers in the older brewery place. That's just over £6?
+Terry Dolan yeah about that but that's usually for around a half pint.
+The Craft Beer Channel Ah...... Lucky I'm not a big drinker!
+Terry Dolan me neither...ahem.
Forgot about Brewdog Grunerløkka (aka. BD57).
didn't forget - just wanted people to experience something new when they come!
Nice video but Norweigain bars dont seem to have any character or soul..
The keller and cafe definitely did but I get why you might think the others don't. To be fair, they are so new they need some time to develop character but I quite like the open spaces. Never feels crowded which is at least good for filming!
