I’ve been struggling with the format and not enjoying it too much, though I just drafted a blue red deck (first picked the blue rare talent) and got hooked up with the flashcaller otter, ral, and 2 of the 5 mana rare otters, as well as a kitnap, went 3-0 without dropping a game and was the most fun I’ve had playing in the format, was just so unbelievably open getting pick 6 bomb blue rares
it's a shitty format, you should just stop playing it and hope the next one is fun. If you play at a store or something politely ask to play a better format, though the last ten(?) have sucked real hard.
It's not a great format...part of the problem is that everything is hyper linear with the tribal focus. So you figure out your lane and for the most part, the picks figure out themselves.
"Well, team. This ONE format has gone over pretty poorly, and there's like one guy total drafting blue. He keeps saying it's actually the best color, but no-one else is touching it. How do we avoid another set like this?" "Well, let's give every other color hyper-aggressive overstatted one and two drops, and blue can in turn have a bunch of slow, clunky, trinkety duds that require lots of plate-spinning to even be remotely on-rate. That's what it says to do in the template, anyways."
Blue? You mean we HAVEN'T removed that colour yet? Let's keep making it the worst colour in every limited format, then when nobody si playing it anymore we can just get rid of it.
Blue has been the weakest color in quite a few sets recently, it's true, but I kind of like it. I love drafting blue, and having it be the worst color means it becomes absurdly open and then you can actually do really well drafting it. Have to wait until the word is out that it's bad, though.
Turn 1 Mistbreath is the way. Saw you debating at the beginning of the last game, but you got there. It looks like the sort of card you need to be careful about playing early, but it just never is in this format. In mono-green alone, among Sunsower Druid, Three Tree Scribe, Clifftop Lookout, and Bakersbane Duo at common/uncommon, you usually have an actively good CIP target for the bounce early. Even random 2 drops with no CIP ability are fine backups. The ability to get the Mistbreath rolling early is powerful. Since playing removal is so bad in this set, attacking for minimum 2 on turn 2, 3 on turn 3, 4 on turn 4...is big game.
Hi Luis!, I played you yesterday in a pretty close game with my annoying rat deck. Was so excited to watch it back with your sassy commentary, but then found out you probably played it off camera. Anyway, great match :) Cheers! (you were playing frogs - and made a pretty sick play to kill my sick rare, at the end. Then I sniped you with my grixus rat slinger guy - forgot it's name)

Green just seems like the best colour in every set for ages now... Like why durdle around when you can just play well statted creatures with reach. Pair with black for recursion/removal or with white for removal/flyers/more well-statted creatures --> profit.
Saying blue is bad regards averages long term, not that every blue deck is bad! One of those blue decks were rabbits, so it was mainly due to the white cards he lost tbh.
@@BirdNatureViewI think the badness of blue is a bit overblown in this set. Among top players on 17lands, UB and UG are right on par with the other best decks. If anything, the demarcation is that black and green are better and the other three colors are less good.
All my 6-7 win decks have been UB control (not even necessarily rats) with a good amount of removal and card draw (two things LSV seems to undervalue in this set IMO)
On that vault progress thing. I always just did it at like 104%or atoms there. I always assumed that the higher the percentage, the more wildcards you would get, yet LSV showing his progress at 3600+% and still only showing as getting 1 mythic, 2 rare, etc. What is the higher vault progress for? What is the point is not clicking it?
Just finished watching match 5. I was quite surprised you've left yourself dead to a bounce/removal spell. Wouldn't it be better to leave the 2 drop in hand and sac the food? You're just trying to stabilize and let them finish scrying. Of course there's no right or wrong here, but I would go with the safer approach when you have several cards in hand and a bunch of value and they have a few scries and then they need to topdeck something.
@@aguyyouneverknew I like the quick drafts that are half the cost (with the downside of drafting against bots and the upside of not having a timer on your drafts). I'm lucky to not have to pay though since my winrate is high enough to consistently make gems. Haven't put a dollar in but have over 53,000 gems.
Is there a reason for all the bloom burrow drafts instead of cube? Especially with the cube world event right around the corner I'd much rather see that.
@@hellos123321 I don't mind other formats. The week of a new set or if there is a cool thing like wilds had the 100k open last year so by all means blast it, but bloom burrow is a meh set with no events tied to it to my knowledge. Right now cube does have a cool event and we've seen practically 0 which is the only reason I watch lsv anyways.
@@nsmith131 way too much imo. It's just an opinion. If everyone else wants to see it that's fine I guess. I just personally only want to see cube unless there's a good reason for it.
@@cyrilandgarry man you're so demanding. Maybe let him play the formats he wants to play? What on earth gives you this ridiculous level of entitlement?
I mean no offense to anyone who likes this format, but I am personally sick of seeing it. When you've seen 3 games, you've kind of seen them all. The draft is also kind of boring imo. I'm with Marshall - "Its been 2 weeks and it feels like its been 12"
I agree. If people enjoy it, more power to 'em, but the draft itself has so little depth being a very very linear format. And the gameplay is pretty one-note.
Understandable you're trying to navigate the drafts in a way that gets you to mythic, but I feel like a lot of the fun of modern draft formats is trying to make cool things happen - which will have a higher fail rate for sure, but feels really great when it comes together. I feel like when you're presented with a p1p1 strong mythic in a bad color you could just run with it with the potential for a really fun deck. That, at least, would be really fun to watch.
100% agree, though mono-blue would be tough to achieve. The most fun drafts (and isn't the point of playing to have fun?) are ones that are unexpected and different. I think back fondly on decks like the "Triple Goblinslide KTK" for example.
It's really a matter of taste. I didn't like MH3 that much. Also Kamigawa that everyone liked I kind of hated due to how long every match took(even though I had a great record with Kamigawa). If you're on arena it's 1500 gems or 10k coins, not sure what that is in actual money but you can earn all the resources free by playing.
