Smart Technology Innovation Youth Network (SAIYN) Inaugural Ceremony

  • Feed the Future program and USAID, USA funded project "Appropriate Scale Mechanization Innovation Hub (ASMIH)-Bangladesh" launched a youth innovation platform named “Smart Agro-Technology Innovation Youth Network (SAIYN)” on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at zoom online platform. SAIYN is a knowledge-based learning platform for youths where they can explore and boost their interests on smart and innovative agro-technologies for sustaining agricultural (crop, fisheries and livestock) production, processing and marketing to ensure food and nutrition security. This network is formed in connection with 4-H Illinois approach through the project ASMIH)-Bangladesh Phase II, a core component of Appropriate Scale Mechanization Consortium (ASMC) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA, and financed by the Sustainable Intensification Innovation Lab (SIIL), Kansas State University and Feed the Future, USAID, USA. Professor Dr. Md. Monjurul Alam gave the welcome address and Professor Dr. Chayan Kumer Saha introduced SAIYN together with it's advisory panel, mentors board and SAIYN ambassadors to the participants.
    Professor Dr. Lutful Hassan, Vice Chancellor, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Bangladesh was the Chief Patron of the launching Ceremony. Professor Dr. Prasanta K. Kalita, Director, Appropriate Scale Mechanization Consortium (ASMC), University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA and Dr. George Czapar, Associate Dean and Director of Extension Emeritus, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA and Dr. A.K.M. Zakir Hossain, Students' Affairs Advisor, Bangladesh Agricultural University were present as the Guest of Honor of the launching ceremony. Professor Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Agricultural Engineering & Technology, Bangladesh Agricultural University Chaired the launching ceremony.
