This is so frustrating. If the charity shops priced their items cheaper they would sell more and have less to throw out. Most of these dumped items would sell quickly if priced right. The trouble with charity shops nowadays is they're getting greedy, wanting high prices for FREE items. My local charity shops are too expensive, even if you are buying for yourself.
Thanks a lot for watching! Couldn't agree with you more! Theae chain charity shops have become commercialised, gone are the days of a good bargain! Unless very lucky. They even have pricing sheets for different brands etc 😲 I use what I can, sell on some bits then re donate to smaller independent charities 🙂
Not only the prices, what frustrates me even more, there are so many other charities that would accept alot of the kids toys for families in need and they just think, we can't sell it so we will chuck it, shouldn't they help each other out
@Jimbo_resells Yeah couldn't agree more, they could all club together and help others out and connect with families in need. But no, they're all commercialised and have CEO's to pay etc. Thanks a lot for watching 🙂
@elainewallace3381 Thanks Elaine! I try to take the decent bags I see as can re use these or pass them onto other charities. Appreciate your support 🙂 New videos every Sunday (and sometimes Wednesday)
Also all the plastic bags! Before the charge for bags came in, charity shops would keep all the plastic bags that donations came in behind the till to reuse when people bought things. Now these are getting thrown away which defeats the object of the reason the charge was brought in!
I'm always amazed when people throw out bags that can be reused. I like to grab these because they come in handy for organising dumpster diving finds in my car. Great vid mate!
Hey thanks for watching I appreciate it! They chuck away loads of strong reusable bags and also handy plastic tubs which I like to use in my car. They could offer these for free at the front of the shop and they'd go 🤷♂️
Wooden toys or educational ones can be worth money. Dolls like American Girl and the clothes , accessories can bring in revenue. Toy glass marbles worth money. Not all but some. The reusable bags are great to have on you. A small magnet and a hand held black light is good to have on you. Children's furniture and some doll clothes and doll house furniture are a easy sell. Brooches are a trend right now. Anything Mid - Century Modern you can make some good money. Don't over look pens . Fountain and rollerball pens can make you bank! Great Video!!!!
In the town where I live, charity shops are so expensive people will get on a bus & travel 10 miles to the next town where they are less expensive. I bought a bag in a charity shop here & then saw the same bag £5 less new!
Hey Sarah thanks for watching I appreciate it, yes seeing more and more of it prices on the up. They see brands and get excited and charge through the roof!

I volunteer at a charity shop in leicestershire, we chuck out anything really battered and try and find another charity shop that sells stuff we don't, we have rats in our dumpster which isn't great when you tip stuff it stinks lol
Hey thanks for watching that's a great idea, other charity shops should do this! I totally understand broken, unusable or unsafe items being thrown away. We can't help this.
