Thanks Manny, you helped me secure a car that was listed at $5000 for $3000 with your advice!
TOM BOMBER thank you for taking the time to follow up with feedback Tom. I appreciate that. I’m glad you found this video useful.
Um... really concerned what type of car you got at that price
@@N7-WAR-HOUND😂😂
@@N7-WAR-HOUND None of your concern. They bought what they could afford.
@@chrisblanco8923 Well said! N7 has a nose problem!
Just did a deal today on a used Mitsu. Price was $6,888.
I followed Manny's tactics, got the car for $5,300 otd. Thx Manny!
Saved me at least $2K.
Not exactly a steal, but I'm satisfied!
Man I love it!!
Great job. Thank you so much for following up with your experience. That’s a massive discount!

Steven Whiting thank you.
Thanks Manny, about to go on the car search. Great advice I took notes and will keep in mind.
Kathy Cook thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. I appreciate it.
Thank you. This is actually helpful info for a consumer. I’ve done TONS of research for the model I’m interested in as well as its competitors, but I haven’t used that knowledge to negotiate to my advantage yet. I particularly like your suggestion to pick and choose competitor features that you really wish the car your visiting at the current dealership doesn’t come with.
Keith Skoglund you’re welcome. Alternatives are everything in negotiation. Your research will come in handy. Car sales people fear losing the deal to a car they don’t have on their lot. Fear of a lost sale within their grasp is a great motivator for a bigger discount.
You are awesome. I'm looking to purchase a vehicle soon and I'm completely nervous. I've had to car notes in my life time both of which I was totally taken advantage of but this time im going equipped with the knowledge you shared and I thank you

Wow this is absolutely excellent advice. Only thing I'd add is to never ever ever talk about payments or trades. When they ask what payment you're looking for just tell them you are a cash buyer or that you've already got financing. Let them beat your financing as well. Make them work people!!!
thank you. I agree with your added advice. Get the word out that this is how you take on the used car dealers and beat them at their own game.
thank you. I agree with your added advice. Get the word out that this is how you take on the used car dealers and beat them at their own game.
@AMOreflection333 I would not take it. I've been in your situation with bad credit as well. My first car was at 12% and that was because I had my godmother be a cosigner on the loan, and to make matters worst, she was the primary on the loan. I know it sucks, but your best bet is to get a cheaper car for now. See if you can buy a used car for little money. Get a secure credit card and start building up your credit. This is the only way to get out of the hole you are in. The payments you were going to make on this Camry, put it in a high interest savings account (CIT bank, or CapitalOne money market savings account) and pay into it as if you were paying a car loan, but in this case you are paying yourself. After a year, you should have a nice chunk of change in the savings. Now you are ready to upgrade. Take your cash, your current car and go buy an upgrade. Set on paying the car with you cash and trade, do not take any loans. Your credit is not there yet. Now repeat. What will happen is that you will have a higher amount of assets as you do this every year and within 5 years you'll be driving a better car and not be stuck paying off a loan for 72 months on a 14% APR. Hopefully by this time you have also maintained good credit and build up from 587 to 750. Hope that helps.
@@notwaitingtolive If I have no credit history, is a big down payment recommended to improve financing?
Nono Yurbisnes Yes, it will more than likely be necessary. A down payment reduces the amount you need to borrow. Borrowing less reduces the risk to creditors and therefore makes them more likely to agree to lower interest rates. High interest rates are where you get into trouble. Reasonable used car interest rates right now will typically range between 3-7%. With no credit you may be offered rates of 8-15%. It’s best you do all you can to avoid paying these high rates as this is a tough cycle to break. Often people paying these high rates owe more on their car than its worth at the time they trade in for another vehicle.

I must say very useful and great advise!

Happy to help. I'm glad you found this information useful. You two will do a great job. Trust your gut and be willing to walk away.
Thank you Manny. Good info. I'm looking at a 2002 3.4 liter 6cyl SR5 4Runner at a local lot. Good shape, fair mileage. I have a 2000 2.7 4cyl 4Runner in fair shape. I plan on reviewing your video again to prepare myself for the dealer.
Great and condensed tips man. Thank you for not over complicating. I slightly wish you went into detail on fees/things to negotiate off but then again it sounds like a more "make me an offer I can't refuse" big picture move, rather than each individual line item.
Thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback. I appreciate it.
I agree there is more information needed to negotiate the fees and other details to negotiate. But I think that's best served in a separate video.
The elephant in the room is the price of the vehicle. Take care of that first and the rest will be easier to negotiate
Thanks Manny. Very good information especially actually telling me what to say to the Salesguy.

Hi Manny,
Thank you so much for all your videos. I’ve waited years to be able to buy my dream car (Porsche). I didn’t know where to start. I know nothing about buying cars and watching your videos has helped me feel more comfortable speaking to the sales people at the dealership. Anyway, I’ll let you know how it goes!!! Thank you again so much!
So did you get the Porsche you wanted?
Thanks Manny! This information is useful I didn’t know you could look up how long a car has been sitting in a lot on Car Gurus. Or that I could use that information when negotiating for a car.
You’re welcome. The largest dealerships are most likely to cut good cars that have been on their lot 90+ days just to keep the business turning over. On the smaller lots when a car has been there for a long time it’s best to pay close attention to what problems the car might have with it.
But in general the cars that have been on the lot the longest go for the biggest discount.
THANK YOU SO MANY GEMS DROPPED
YES CIARA LANG you’re welcome. Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback I really appreciate it.
This is probably the best car buying advice I’ve ever seen.

Thanks Manny, great info. I'm in the process of getting my wife a nice used vehicle but going to some of these places has really bummed me out. The salesmen can be vultures, no disrespect, and be on you so quickly that you don't have time to just look and maybe compare the vehicles. Your advice is great. Thank you.

U da Man Manny...thanks for the advice. My girlfriend is looking for a car. We have gone to one area of my city where they have multiple dealerships. We saw a car Hyundai...2016. 77.000 KM. Going for on internet advertised as 10.000. When we got to the lot....the CROOKED (already Indian) sales dog said $10.100.
Bad start.
Manny, where have you been all this time. Just found you and your great advice. I like the insight that as you build your story that the dealer is anticipating you playing your role and that it's up to you to play your part in the theatre. Great work.

Banshee Moon thank you. That’s unfortunate about the transmission. What was the year, model, and mileage of the car that broke down?
@@notwaitingtolive I guess we’ll never know 😔
Good tips. Your idea about alternatives is good, and find things you don't like. We were shopping for trucks and found one we really liked. The problem was, it didn't have side steps or an bed liner (as a result the paint on the bed was beat up some). They gave me a price and I wasn't excited. I told them that for what we would be using the truck for and my family riding around in it, I NEEDED side steps and a bed liner. In order to meet my expectations, they could either install that for free at their shop, or knock down the price so I could do these things after purchase. They ended up coming down on the price to make me feel whole and more excited. They made money, I'm sure, but I walked away with a fair market price. The side steps and liner are getting installed today!!! :D
Great work. This has been the toughest year to negotiate truck price. Thanks for sharing your experience. It will inspire others reading the comment section in a similar situation.
Awesome video thanks!

Thank you I've been looking for information I'm buying a car this month
Angelfrom18 you’re welcome. This should be a great month to buy as dealers will be experiencing less traffic during the corona virus and feeling the pressure to get as many deals as they can. Make sure to wait out your purchase until the end of the month.
Thank you. Well done!
You’re welcome. And thank you. I appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback. Happy to help.
Great video. I'm in need of a new car since mine was totalled a month ago. Got my car used from Facebook marketplace (Honda Element 03 for $3800, and no one is selling them that cheap anymore). I found an 09 for about $11,000 at a dealership 7 hours away. It looks good, and I'm in the market for the same car because I love it so much. I'm hoping to use these tactics to get the price down. Never bought from a dealership before. Maybe the fact that we are in February helps, the car has been on the lot since mid-December so I think I have a shot!
Cool thank you so much for the info !

Bro this is good info. Honest. And genuine. Thanks for making it.
The hunt for that car continues
Locke Li you’re welcome. I’m glad you found the information useful.
What car are you considering?
17 RX 350
Gotta replace that 2005 civic. The AC doesn’t get to the kid in the back 😂. We live in Texas and he’s sweating after car rides. I am taking your advice and waiting for the week after thanksgiving (Black Friday). Chances are dealerships will have more trade ins by folks who shopped during that Friday.
Locke Li nice. Lexus and Infiniti have the most luxury/$ in my opinion. Getting closer the best time of the year to buy too. Good luck on the hunt.
Locke Li I got to 200,000 miles on my ‘01 Civic. Great car. Both rear passenger doors stopped opening. Then the rear windows stopped opening too eventually. Then the engine header cracked and would shut off on the highway. That was the end.
Black Friday is a good time to buy. I agree with your point about looking for all those trade ins about to come in over the holiday weekend. I don’t think you can go wrong this time of year. But the best time possible to by used is getting closer to Christmas, New Years, and in to February. Those Black Friday trade ins will have been on the lot for a month or two by that time and the dealerships are going to be desperate looking for a sale at the end of December to hit their unit goals for the month and end of year and they’ll move their supply of depreciating assets during the slowest time of year in January, and February.
Good luck on the hunt.
Awesome, going to lot soon and picking up Jetta TDI.
Harry Virdi good luck! Trust your gut. And don’t be afraid to walk away and sleep on a deal at any point in the sale.
Thank you for your help
