Are Your Baby’s Toys Holding Back Development? (7 Key Toy Upgrades at 9 Months)

- 🧸 🧸 🧸 Frequently changing your baby's toys as they grow doesn't just prevent them from getting bored with them. It's actually really beneficial for their development as well!
Selecting age-appropriate toys helps facilitate healthy gross motor and fine motor development. When the toys are age-appropriate, they're also more fun for children because they can actually use them, and they provide stimulation and challenges that are suitable for their current stage of development.
At 9-12 months of age there are some big changes in your baby's development that mean it's time for a little toy box upgrade to really help the development of their fine motor skills. In this video you'll learn which toys to swap out, and the best toys for 9-12 month old babies. And don't worry, these aren't super expensive options either!

Please share age appropriate toys for 4 year old
Thank you for wonderful guidance in all your videos
My baby is in her 10th month, your videos and discussions weekly have halped to me a lot in taking care of her for her growth and development. Keep up the good work Emma!
Listen to this wonderful lady! ^^^ Emma is an absolute Gem!
I took every bit of advice over these past 2 and a half years that my little one has been on this earth. We have just had our 30month review and our health visitor (UK) was telling us how fantastic my daughters development was for her age! speech, interactions and identifying items were all spot on, she was super impressed. All thanks to your advice, to this first time mum with no clue (thank you pandemic, meaning all classes for first time mums were put on hold).
I really can't thank you enough!
This is such a huge compliment! It's fantastic your little one is doing so well. And really it is all because of you! Everything you have done and all the opportunities you have given your little one has made all the difference. ❤️
Absolutely agree. Mine is 7 months and I’m so glad I came across Emma’s page. So much great advice for our babies. 😊😊
My 9 mo baby just keeps putting those puzzles into her mouth and tries to chew all the books I gave her 😮💨
Same!!! 😢
Me too
Same! He's interested in all books, but only with his mouth
Aww don't be discouraged, it doesn't actually mean anything except that their mouth is bothering them. 😅 I found a good result taking those toys away for a couple days or a week and then reintroducing then. Sometimes that break is big enough they think of a different way to play with it.
Same!
Please make a video of appropriate toys for a 14 month old.
Love your videos and you've helped me gain confidence as a first time mom 💜
Hi! Here is a link to a video I have on toys for 12 - 18 months:ua-cam.com/video/KABLLLxkW7w/v-deo.html
Thank you, Emma!
Do you have a video about toys for 1-2 year old kids?
No worries at all. Here is a link to a video I have on toys for 12 - 18 months:ua-cam.com/video/KABLLLxkW7w/v-deo.html
So serval of the 'old' is marked with 12 or 18 months in the store..
My baby is 8.5 months and I’m buying so many things in preparation for this new stage. Thank you, Emma! The information you share is incredibly helpful.
Hi Emma just want to say. All your videos are super useful. You are my favourite person on UA-cam to get advice and learn new information from. So thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Thank you so much!
Just in time Emma! Our little one is nearly 9 months old so this will come in handy. My husband and I love your videos. Love love love from Canada! 😍😍
You are so welcome!
So helpful! Thank you so much for your work, Emma. My little one is almost 9M old so this video comes on time. However, I would like to ask you if you could recommend some ordinary household items I can give my daugher to play with. I try to include her in my routine as much as I can. So if I cook, she is at my feet, looking or in my carrier. I always give her a spatula or something to play with. But I would need more ideas like that. Thanks again, love what you do
Hei!
Thank you for your videos!
They are very helpful!
But...the sticks for xylophone aren't dangerous for a baby that small?
Thanks for the video, my boy really likes all the recommended toys. We also got the building blocks, but I'm a bit worried they would be a choking hazard. What are your thoughts on that? Thanks
My 9 month old only uses her point finger for EVERYTHING haha even picking up spoons now
Hello Emma! I've been watching your videos for a year or so now, I love them! So you have recommendations for toys that aren't made of plastic? I'm really trying to keep the amount of plastic toys to a minimum, but I have a hard time finding exact copies, and I'm not sure what the best replacement is (such as the activity block)
Thanks so much in advance for reading this and hopefully responding! ❤
You can get wooden activity blocks :)
There are activity cubes which as wooden. In fact most of the toys - except the battery operated one should have wooden version. For exampled there are wooden shape sorters, as well as wooden ring stackers. Also there are silicone versions of these toys being made too.
My little one just turned one! I would love a video like this for 12 months+. :) So interresting!
I love videos very much, from Kerala

Check the file type and Google the issue.
Mam my child has development delay i started physiotherapy from last 3 week in how many months noticeble result will shown?
I would love to help but this is something you should ask your little one’s therapist. They will be able to let you know exactly what to expect in regards to therapy and outcomes.
My baby picks up objects with 3 fingers plus thumb and his been doing tht since 4 months old
That's great. What you should notice is the grip itself becomes more precise. At 4 months, when they pick up toys the toy itself usually makes contact with the palm as well. But as they get older there should be a grap between the toys and their palm, so that just their fingers are holding the toys. Then as they edge to 12 months they should move onto using just their pointer and thumb (if the toy is small enough).
I noticed that my baby is actually more mature for his age he does things that his suppose to start doing at 9 months
My 8 month old plays these toys for 3 min gets bored! Prefers real life stuff in house is that okay?? He feels patronised almost hahaha prefers real remote from toy one so now I get new house stuff no bacteria so he enjoys them 🥲🥴😭🤣
