Awesome thank you for letting us know, I am now more than satisfied and will be purchasing my new Coachman soon.
We love our Coachman VIP460. Its well built and really well designed.
We just sold our 2007 coachman 460 vip and it's the same as this. No damp it had just been really looked after. We now have a 2016 swift challenger 565 a week ago. It's fine at the moment, but have been watching your videos for a while very informative..... CANT RAIL anyone
Just keep an eye on everything, should be fine..
I put builders damp proof membrane between the wall and the floor on my Bailey, forms a physical barrier and stops water wicking round to the floor edge
Good idea, but you shouldn’t have too..
Wow! Please somebody tell Bailey
A simple overlapped lip to stop the water tracking underneath onto the floor.
It’s not rocket science is it..
My 2008 Coachman Amara 380/2 has exactly the same underneath. Looks perfect with no signs of any damage whatsoever.
Looks good, similar to our 2014 Adria where the water drips to the ground before it touches the floor. Crazy that manufacturers dont apply the designs like this that work instead of designing new systems that fail.
Strange isn’t it, having said that Swift have gone to GRP under flooring, but all they needed do was this, unless GRP is cheaper than the process seen here.
On my Swift 510 the lower skirt edge is lower than the floor - but the join with the main body (behind the bottom rail) seems to be at floor level so any gaps/poor sealant behind the rail rots the floor.
Maybe some caravan manufacturers don't want them to last so they can sell more caravan but I think it's backfired
I don’t think that is the case, but I also don’t know why they make some of the decisions they do..
@@atlanticcaravansUK Everything in industry is about cost saving 🤨
Cured my baily 2019 unicorn with some plastic angle from B&Q, about £15 I think + silicon.
Hi like watching your videos. Quick question I’ve got an Adria caravan English vans may have the same thing I’m asking about. To fix the floor to the chassis they use large headed bolts that I see from inside on the floor every so often. The problem the get condensation moisture on them when cold any ideas what I could do .. I was thinking insulate them from underneath. What’s your thoughts a use what product . Thanks mike.
Not sure really, I’d have thought a stick backed foam top would do that, or cover them with some pipe lagging cut to fit.
A simple better design that works. A couple of pieces of info Darren, apparently the new Xplore caravans won't be shown until the October show and just 3 models offered. Now that doesn't make sense to me at all. Might be too little too late. Also Swift have just announced on the local news they are laying 175 people off.
Yes, saw the swift news, it’s something that just has to be done, that’s a big wage cost saving. I’m interested to keep a close eye on what Elddis are doing.
My Bailey is in for a damp problem 12 months old in July. I am mortified. I ask my repairer if there is anything I can do to stop it from happening elsewhere and got a VERY blunt NO. Totally unhelpful.
Sorry to hear about that. Unfortunately although the delivery might not have been overly great, they were not wrong and all you can really do is keep an eye on it. I don’t know if you saw my videos on Bailey water ingress, also invest in the meter I recommend in the cheap damp meter test video, and scan the floor every 3 months. Keep it serviced and the warranty up to date and it’ll be fine, you might not get any more trouble with it, I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you.
My coachman 2015 has a downstand measuring 65mm this seems plenty.
Not very hard is it ? - just exemplifies the rubbish being churned out the majority of builders - they are now paying the price for short changing the customer.
Unfortunately we are paying the price for the majority of cases as they are well out of warranty..
A work colleague of mine has a 2019 coachman. Bought from wandahome ( knottingley ) it's to go in next Feb for damp repairs!;
I’m not saying they don’t leak inside, as long as manufacturers use window rubber they will leak..
