When I'm rich, I am going to build one of these with a big steam workshop for kids to learn about the history and play with working models. They can help "fix up" a train that could later pull them down the track. I love old steam of all kinds. Soo cool!
Wow, wow, wow.... what a railway. I didn't think it could get any better, then you notice a steamboat on the lake. Wow.... 1 mile and well engineered by the look of it, a credit to the builder.
Your utube as got me thinking again about building a home track. I used to live in the UK then moved to Toronto I have always been a member of clubs but now I live in Kelowna BC and the closest club is Burnaby around 4 hours away. Like your engine is it from Station Road and are you using steel or aluminum rail. Graham.
Looks like the early stages of the project. Do you have planning permission? Might be advisable to check or you will end up like that farmer in Kent who built himself a castle.
My dream, a railway like this in a large garden and the steam launch too. The owner is a very lucky man! Thanks for sharing the video
you see that guy on the train.... he is living what i call "The dream"

Planning permission, for what exactly? Do not think that it would apply in your own gardens. Do you need planning permission for path ways?
Great railway! What is the length of the long course? And are you using coal?
The distance is a mile, yes it's coal
Is that Toby and Henrietta in the siding by the turn table at 2:55?
Very nice, what gauge?
Needs a gopro on the front.
Who cuts the grass?
