Grown men playing with trains! I LOVE IT! A most impressive layout, I must say, one of the most complicated and detailed miniature railways that I have ever seen.
Absolutely Awesome. Love the way this is done with the signals and everything the same as the large guys, just shrunk down. Even to the signal cabins etc. Thank you for the trip around this wonderful attraction.
yep Been to the Cockcrow and it good think the signaling is so fab i do have a 71/4 Loco Heymek but not shore if they let me run it as it a Mardyk so may be to big thank for the cab ride Regards Ron
21:10-I can’t figure out that overhead semaphore setup (I doubt I could with lights either!); could you help explain what semaphore on that signal goes to what?
So working from left to right in the shot. 1 (HK19). Branch line signal (which is the signal the driver would have got at the start of the video), to peel off the main to go down the North Hardwick Branch. There are two signal arms on this signal - stop/go & distant 2 (HK 19). Down Main signal, this one tells you that you are going straight on. There are two signal arms on this signal - stop/go & distant 3 (HK9). This is for trains coming the wrong way on the North Hardwick Branch (so from the drivers view coming out of the Station they would see a white signal, thus can ignore it). 4/5/6/7 (HK2). These are all effectively the same signal, but they are for the Up Main coming into the station. They denote which platform you will go into. So once again they will look white from the drivers POV at 21:10. You can see them all from the opposite direction at 17:21 same as signal 3 (or more commonly known as HK9). 8 (HK4). Finally, this is the 'calling on' signal from the loco run round, which tells the driver that they are allowed to back on to the train in the platform. Shortly before 21:10 the driver would have gone through that signal. There is also a theatre indication box (you can see it at 20:55, illuminated to 1), this informs the driver which platform s/he is going back onto.
That has helped a lot! One last question- you mentioned, is the theatre indication box; there’s no equivalent in U.S. or Canadian railroading AFAIK. Why is it called “theatre indication box”? In other videos, I’ve seen a number (track number) or “OFF” (meaning?)...?
@@2themoon863 So for Theatre Indicator Box (TI) they can display either numbers, letters or sometimes "OFF". They all denote the route that the train will take when they pass the signal. "OFF" just means that the signal has been pulled off (i.e. either proceed or caution aspect). The letters in a TI box can often be very cryptic to someone who doesn't know. TI boxes are normally used when there are lots of routes that train can take (generally at larger stations or junctions), as the standard feather indicators will be too cluttered and busy. I'm afraid that I don't know why it's called a Theatre Indication box. I'm sure someone might be able to chip in.
@@mattcollins171 They're called Theatre Indicators because in theatres that host 'variety' shows or other multi-act performances there was an indicator adjacent to the stage which could show the Act number, which related to the information given in the printed programmes that the audience would have for the show. Hence Theatre Indicator for railway use.
There are several places in the UK who build 5 inch gauge and seven and a quarter inch gauge loco's and carriages but to give you some examples on cost, Google Abbots Model Engineering, Maxitrak, Phoenix Locomotives and Compass House.
+i235rider : I have a 5 inch gauge one in GBRf livery and also with sound. I'm very pleased with it and highly recommend Abbots Model Engineering. Service and workmanship is brilliant.
I think it is around 8 acres after the Green Lane extension was laid. It depends on signal headways as each train needs 2 clear block sections to run under a green signal, or 3 block sections in the 4 aspect areas. If not, trains would be running under a single yellow or double yellow all the time and would have to run at reduced speed.
Very disappointed would have loved to see what other loco were attending, would be nice to see the other action as well. But did you enjoy this track??Looking forward to part two!
Unlike you I take a loco when visiting. Don't get time to film, busy driving and enjoying the track. Plus on the rare occasion you do take a loco, you share the driving so get time to film. No part 2
Dear French Stream, I looked it up on Wikipedia, it’s at: Chertsey, Surrey, UK. Here’s the link: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Cockcrow_Railway I hope this helps you? Sincerely, Dennis Rail Fan
@@frenchsteam7356 Me too, very far away. Would be so much fun to ride that tiny train through their English garden. You take care, don’t forget to stop at all RR tracks and sailboat tacks! 🤣😀😁🚂⛵️

This has to be one of the top 5 miniature RR on planet Earth! 🤔😀😁⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🚂 I think Perseverance’s helicopter, Ingenuity just found a better one on Mars. 😆👽🚀🛸 Too bad this miniature RR doesn’t have miniature houses, water tanks, towns, etc. Wish the cameraman/engineer would have videoed the engine and rolling stock trailing him? 🤔😔🚂 I saw one yesterday that was way smaller and looked like we were passing through a garbage dump! Not maintained or landscaped like Great Cockcrow’s Miniature RR. 🤔😔
I could watch the Great Cockrow Railway all day long! How beautiful is this great ride! Very wonderful video!! Thank you!!!🚊👏💯🤩

I visited your Railway in 1974, it was impressive then, and, still is. Well done.
The sound of that loco is stunning usually they sound like lawnmowers.
I only saw your video but I'm very relaxed
A very nice movie. Great videos and on your beautiful equipment. Thanks.
Great film - this railway really makes best use of available space!
What an amazing railway. Thanks for the videod ride.
What a magnificent miniature railway!
Congratulations Great Job😀👌👌love this ride. I am from Mumbai.
Love UK💕👏👏thank you for sharing this Video.
Impressive railroad.
Nice job done by the 'Little Helper', btw.
McRocket That was my favourite part of the video! Bless his heart 🙂
If this line ran to full capacity, it would be rammed! That signalling is amazing!
Somewhere in England. Please update description.
That looks like a lot of fun
Sadly I never visited your railway, but road many times behind Mere Hall in its earlier life.
In which locality and in which country is this wonderful miniature railway located?

Love to see your back shop!
Thank you for this special video! I enjoyed it very much! Greetings from Apeldoorn (The Nethertlands).

just out of curiosity? how much does the locomotive alone cost? and also the cars one by one? please let me know? alright have a great day?...

Is this the railway used in the 1960s Avengers series?
No
That was Stapleford Park near Melton Mowbray
Oh, cheers.
Superb
Is that a miniature class 66?
Is that an Abbots Model Engineering Class 66?

Nice miniature railway!
Are the signals there working, controlling ones?
strafrag1 all signals are fully working and control movements
Super fun place. Thanks for the ride. Peter.
Wish I went.
Success for Channel you 👍
What was the locomotive model ? was it CNW (Chicago North & western) ???
How many acres is this on and how many trains can you run at one time ? I counted at least 5 going at once .
No idea on the acres but with 2 miles of track quite a few engines can run
I think it is around 8 acres after the Green Lane extension was laid.

How are the switches controlled?
Is this private or public and if private, who's?
Hi, It's a public railway
Why did you stop at some red signals, but not others?
Some of the yellow signals look red on the video…..so he didn’t pass any reds.!
GREAT LAYOUT
well looks like fun wheni get UK got l;ook up the wood needs more loens tiggers and baers ho my but it has bunnys ;;;;;]]

7:06 rabbit crossing the railtrack

You'd get a LOT more interest and probably visitors if you'd tell people WHERE you are rather than assuming "everybody knows"
5 seconds on google gives you an answer, I believe the driver was just a visitor anyway so not exactly "their" railway to worry about...
