Thank you for sharing this glimpse into some history of Lowriding . I love riding low and slow and you will be proud to know the scene has Made it to Austrakia and New Zealand. Much love from the down under Lowrider Community 👊🏽😎
I am Asian, proudly grew up in East San Jo, Califas and am deeply rooted in the Lowrider culture with my Chicano brothers and sisters (when E. Santa Clara, King and Story Rd. were blocked each weekend as illegal cruising)!
Nice documentary. Hot Rodders had their fair share of abuse too, but it wasn’t as organized, just random harassment by the cops. I'm a biker, and riding a chopper will earn you some unwanted attention as well. It seems like anything that makes you different, makes you a target. I particularly liked the Teardrop Buick Rivera, in this doc, sweet!
I think lowridering it should not be a problem it should be legal. I did not group a lowrider Chicano life, but I love lowriders. They are awesome, I think problem is When police stop letting lowrider to cruse is everybody stops the traffic that when it becomes a problem
Did you know the history of the name lowrider Kane from drive-bys it's when they will get ready to pass a house and sit really low with their heads only sticking out
I remember my Cusin started lowriding back in 1962 in Compton that was my first experience of seeing lowriding at that time I didn't see any other races doing it at first but Black People but it's Okay you don't know what going on if you never go anywhere, the first Lowrider was a White Guy back in 1958 in a 58 Chevy look it up.
So you missed the 40’s and 50’s when whiteboys would call them Taco Wagons and Bean Wagons and we all know it aint blacks or whites they were talkin bout
I am disappointed in this video San Diego was left out. San Diego low riders, United Low rider Coalition had a huge role in the repeal of the No Cruising Ordinance's with AB436. If you research David Alvarez the author of AB 436 is our representative for the Southern Communities of San Diego. I and two other members of the ULC are the ones who asked David Alvarez for the bill. For the creators of this video please do extensive research and give a comprehensive account of the history.
You realise up until the nitrogen or "gas"shocks all shock absorbers were oil filled and motorcycle forks are still all oil filled right? Citroen made it famous in the 50's by being one of the smoothest rides available of the time.
Never get tired of watching these lowrider documentaries..our people our culture 🤜🤛

Lorraine Quinones. I should like to get in touch with you about your organization and your plaque.
Yeah they lifted the ban on lowriding in San Jo, but the busters messing a good thing for the low low community.
Hydraulics are illegal because oil does not compress. You don't have a suspension.
