I'm from Detroit, but lots of my family is from East Palo Alto, California I've been amazed by Low Riders since the late 70's when I first visited E.P.A., I now live in San Antonio, Tx. I'm black and my Wife is Chicana my soulmate, my Queen, my LOVE forever! If this life style hadn't been started we probably wouldn't have ever met. so I thank the founders and all who represent the Chicano life, I'm forever in debt. ✌n❤
saludos! blacks and chicanos gotta stick together
@Steven o nice assumption but nah, not against whites. i'm actually half white/half mexican. my point in saying that is there is a lot of unnecessary black on brown and brown on black hate. not so much here in texas, but definitely in california.
You from Detroit? What up doe
My older cousin started EPA first lowrider club in the 70's from the Gardens. P. L .R was the name of the club Professional Low Riders... His name is Kenny Lofton. I lived off the 410 before....rouge
I'm from panama 🇵🇦. And i love the chicano culture..that's the inspiration to do my lowrider painting artworks
Robert here, San Diego built a lowrider in High-school, welding shop, suspension, hydraulics. 72 Caprice Classic. The Chicanos helped big time in construction, fabrication, I did the stereo system. Familia heart and soul in the paint job. Chicano Park historical spot in Logan Heights beginning. Highland Ave cruising days had the finest Lowriders and Chicas. Thanks for dropping this video.
Took me back to the good old days I will never forget my roots still a Chicano and Low Rider for ever, I'm 78 now and this video brought back the feeling of those days! GREAT PRESENTATION!!
Thank you for the kind words, Rudy Rodriguez!
36 years from now I'll be your age hopefully I can make the same statement sounds like you had a fun time those good ol days god bless and thank you for your comment
We Mexicans always merging west coast hood lifestyle or lowriders with Mexican culture !!
They always put Mexican flags, Aztec murals, Mexican flag blankets, Mexican toys or anything that’s from they Mexican ethnicity into lowriders. This will never make it only a Chicano / Mexican thang or change where lowrider originated from which is West Coast - California. Lowrider is for every race not only Chicano. - FACTS !!!
Gracias 🙏🏻 for the Lowrider community !
I’m Salvadoreño 100 💯 but I love my Chicano friends 👫 you guys have taught me how much important is to stick together in a very positive way!
A carnal. We are the same. Mexicanos y BIG BAD SALVATRUCHAS. ( Cuzcatlan!!) ✊🏾🇲🇽🏹🪶🦅🦌 we’re the same BROWN brothers.
I think one of the best things about lowriding is that nobody judges, it's a great place for people to get together, show off there rides and have fun doing it.....
Dave Buckman naa foo mothafuckers Judge a little too much sometimes and if u don't have what they have they don't shut the fuck up 😄 it can even be the same year car but different color and not the same upgrades on it and those bastards would act like bitches not saying the ones here on the video but I seen it happen around Cali sometimes they think they have a ego that is only 4 batteries and act like they got a 9 😂😭
The Low Rider community worked real hard to get where it is today. It is nice to see that all race is involved in the Low Rider Movement.
I'm white 75yrs from socal & love all oldies cars/trucks. Now TX. 😎
I'm mixed, and look forward to getting my first lowrider, already got ideas for the car type, colors, and sub style. I'm glad this community welcomes all who respect and know their history, there's so many great lowrider duenos y duenas
Great things can happen when people get together for the good.
Amen in jesus christ mighty name 😇
Saludos to all the chicano peeps and the struggle y'all fought through! I'm Honduran but see us all as one people...
I'm a person who grew up in San fernando valley in L.A. and remember the beautiful ranflas and beautiful music and we all styled increased pants and shirts along with girls .I am Mexican American(Chicano) and I also embrace my my friends and primos hermanos de Centro y sur America.
We are one people. The government and society has brainwashed us to believe we are not one and the same but we are one people.
brown and proud ..lowrider porvida here...GRACIAS&GOD BLESS!! I and my wife got blessed with our chuco1952 chevy bel air and chuco1934 chevy master roadster ragtop rumble seat GOD IS GOOD!
Calm down
Midwestern kid stationed in San Dog in early 80s and when we were in port, one of the best places to have fun and go watch the lowriders on the other side of Coronado bridge, and always had fun with the people too.
This is a beautiful piece of history and an inspiration for the youth to never let their heritage die! Thank you for your film! #LIVINLOWLIFE!
I’m just a white guy with Norwegian roots living in northern Minnesota- when I lived in Wisconsin there were many immigrant operated farms in the area- i am proud we have south and Central American immigrants here- your contributions are far too great to count- I am sorry we have such a shitty negative world today- thank you for being here and for being part of our fabric- makes me proud to share the planet with your wonderful culture- this is a fantastic video- thank you

@ Adrian Luca you’re one ignorant person pick up a book homie for real ( in case you didn’t know this land was Mexican land you and I come From Mexico 🇲🇽) and if you ain’t Mexican keep your two cents in your pocket cause we don’t need them.
@ Afrikan G
Thanks for the positivity.
South Tucson representing that lowrider lifestyle 🇲🇽🇺🇲
Love the cars, love the respect, love the love! My heart and soul tells me I was supposed to grow up in So Cal! I'm just a dorky white guy that loves lowriders since I was a kid. Wish there were more lowriders on Long Island. ❤️

FOR THE GOOD OF LA RAZA, WHAT WE CAN DO WHEN WE PUT OUR MINDS , CORAZON Y ALMA INTO SOMETHING POSITIVE VIVA NUESTRA RAZA.
These are. The OG's of Lowriding
Thank you for sharing these stories; Soy Chicano
soy milk
The underlying theme is not lowriding but Systemic Racism against people of color. People being discriminated against, having their land use dictated to them and them fighting back. Salute and Respect
What a great tribute. ATM. Brings back all the memories growing up in the 70s and 80s in Segundo in El Chuco. Viva la raza!
"You know what? Saves que? This is me,Y QUE."
...*Sabes que? This is me. Y que?
Excellence. In cruising..
That is my dad's time
And I didn't live it.,
But proud of his heritage and I carry his blood with high honor.
Im not into murals, but that 29 Willys is simply perfect, even the murals are very well done and subdued. I'd love to roll it.
I wanna visit Chicano park one day
While you're there, make sure you eat at Las Cuatros Milpas 👍😎.👍 Only half a block away
Puro Raza! I remember them days in the 70s/80s cruising the calles. The car as stated was an extension of who we were, and we made damn sure we looked just as good! Dressed to impress! So, nice to see Chicanas dressed fine and smelling good!!..My heart and soul is still there, them days will never be taken away!..Orale!!!
Thanks so much for watching and for the kind words!
Started LowRiding from 1970 to.... til now I guess, my 39 Still in my Garage.. I had a 5" stack of tickets that I could have bought a Rolls... and still havent got to to all of them! .. damn pigs.. Something interesting in this video about the Dukes. I am from TJ and my first years lived en La LIbertad parte Alta where I saw a car Club. My house was right to the side of a JONKE YARD VASQUEZ. I would see the Libertad Pachucos jumping the fence to pick parts includineg my uncle! ANYWAY.. many Years Later, I was a Welder at Utility Trailers in So LA where I met these 3 Brothers from Tijuana La LIbertad.. Julio, Oscar and Fernando. I immediately clicked with Fernando because we were both from TJ and he would tell me about how him and Julio got into cars. So now, it all sorta comes together, The RUELAS Brothers started the DUKES in LA but I believe that the Original DUKES were from TIJUAS.. Not Sure but the TIMING seems to point to that. If Anyone has more info on the Original TIJUANA DUKES history please post.
simon que si i agree carnal! im from tj colonia guerrero por el canon jonson. y me ha cuerdo de los dukes ya andavan en tijuas back in the day en tijuas. mi familia emigramos en el 1971 .
Im from Guatemala and i live in Colorado now and i love lowriders. chicanos fought for their identity and open the doors for all of us decades after they started the chicano movement in the United States. Aztlan , Maya, azteca todos somos carnales 🙏🤝
I miss this place very much!!!!!!!: );the 619 will always be in my heart, peace!!!!!!!: )

Very chingon and informative, Y QUE !! This quote brought me back to early 80s, 83 to be exact, an alternative to leave the gang life into car club, Orale there is the difference.. and my respects to the senora speaking in spanish obviously habla Ingles pero representa con orgullo. Con Respeto Sleeps Aca en Orange County, Califas 13. Q-VO.
Mike Ornelas, a good man, great teacher.
The problem with blvd nights was that in E LA alot of gang members had lowrider style cars. When they made the movie they confused the lowrider driving gang culture for the car club culture
There were Car Clubs that were at war with each other in the 1960s-1970s. People like to sugar coat it but I was there
@@DBCooper363 u survived the jump?
@@sliderx1897 I saw and heard it all. Some clubs were affiliated with gangs.
@@DBCooper363 yea and some clubs were loosely gangs themselves

Yes
Orale Homies saludos desde Compton Califas
BUT, and its a big but. Aircraft hydraulics used on cars re from engine feathering pumps. Landing gear units are useless in lowriders. You would think the OGs would get it right, or at least that before puttin out the final cut everything is checkd. Still a great film.
Amazing job 👍🏻
Thanks for watching, Trent!
Orale! Respect
Because no one will drop a Tesla and put daytons on it.
