I’ve got the Tan AE-1500. It’s amazing. The huge numbers sold me instantly and I was lucky enough to catch drop day. Small wrists and it still sits so nicely. Inarguably; Casio knows that this budget beater shames the entire G-Shock line on readability alone. I own a compass; I don’t need an altimeter, barometer, or GPS in my watch. I need ~readability~.
I have an AE1500 and I absolutely love it. I’m in Fire and Rescue and it’s been well and truly tested and has passed with flying colours. I love the big easy to read display. I alway hoped that Casio would make a G shock version and I thought they had with the new Mudmaster. Unfortunately, I returned the Mudmaster as the display was so much smaller and the contrast was very poor when compared to my AE 1500.
Have it in Khaki. Nothing but great things to say about it. Bought it due to aging eyes and larger numbers to read. It's awesome. $22 what can you say?
I bought one of those because I could not read the numbers on my AE-1000W without glasses anymore, but my mom "stole' it from me lol (she's 71). I will re-order in the sand color. Great review and pics, Jim!

That would be a great ad for Casio if they used your work buddy's watch in an ad to show the abuse that it can take.I was very impressed with it! The positive display on this is amazing to my aging eyes. Syncing it with my atomic watch, in one month it was only off by “almost” two seconds.
A really enjoyable, practical watch review. I like the fact that you test stuff out on the oil field. It helps massively. I got the GBD200 and i fell in love with the MIP display. Readable on any angle, watch is sturdy and durable. Only drawback is the battery drain. My first Casio bought with my own money was a 50$ AE1200WH. Absolutely beautiful and pretty sturdy, too. I still have it chucked in a box just waiting to replace the battery to keep it alive. Hey Jim, the gbd-h2000 and that whole family count down timers are meant to be used for interval training. You can set it up to 60 minutes but you have 5 of those and you can set them to repeat. Bro, try the twin sensor for 40 bucks, 200m water resistant, comoass, thermometer and big dsiplay like this one but slightly smaller
Ok. If it’s on Amazon I’ll get it.
AE 1500 deserves to be more expensive than it currently is !
It was my yesterday’s daily wear and today’s is G5600 UE. I feel like I’m struggling to read time on G !
You can get used to those big numbers on the AE1500!
It's already far too expensive.
@@LV-42617 $20 is far too expensive?
Great watch.
wow, those numbers on the ae1500 destroy the visibility of the mudman you showed. it's like an entry budget protrek. i plan on getting one of these from walmart after all the praise found on youtube.
It's worth it. Even if you find a better watch it's good to have this one as a back up.
I have a GAW-100b G Shock. I think that is about the same size!
All the best.👍🏾😂🇬🇧
Sir. You are fantastic. And have again reaffirmed my faith. Giant’s used to roam this land. First time watcher pun not intended. P.s it’s not comfy because you’re a giant.
Your wrist size ?
8 1/2”
@@JimKinkade will it look good on my small 6 inch ?
@@PoshTajir look at the 3:20 mark. The green AE1500 is on a wrist closer to 6”.
Se reccomienda ke entre la correa del reloj y nuestra muñeca debe de caber un dedo,yo lo llevo asi y voy muy comodo, asi ademas la correa dura mas porke va menos tensa
I have have three different color versions of them. In short: I love them
A pity you never picked up a Timex 2TP219. At 42 mm, its a very readable analog watch. Very traditional. 😊
I’ll check it out, but the AE1500 has an extended wrist band. The Timex may not fit me.
@@JimKinkade You can always swap out the supplied Timex strap if its too small. It has standard 20 mm lugs.
@@NormanF62 true! And that’s a good thing about Timex compared to Casio, who uses proprietary lug system.
I ve just bought this Watch in Tenerife, Spain for 28euro…great Watch
Casio makes pretty good displays! Negative displays are just hard to read in general
I agree, except for the MIP displays.
Yes, but the G-Shocks aren’t as clear as the regular Casios. I think it may be because of the extra layers of plastic.
@@JimKinkade ahh that would make sense
Great watch 👍
NICE INFO.
A NICE WATCH. I THINK I'LL BUY IT.
It's such a good watch for a low price!
funny how the modules in cheap casios are better than the g shocks which are supposedly their premium line
Yea! That's what I'm saying!
If they can refine this design with an stn display, solar, mutiband 6 atomic timekeeping and a more comfortable/durable carbon fiber strap would be awesome
You’re describing the yellow GW-9400.
Atomic and solar - two of the most demanded, yet most useless features.
visibility is a virtue
Have one of these.
Paid $30.00 brand new!
Best money, on a watch i ever spent.
See what you mean about the g shock display.
This is a GREAT WATCH! Grabbed one for 30 bucks.
Nice review dude and think i need to get myself another one 😅
One AE1500 isn’t enough! 😂
@@JimKinkade which colour you reckon? The off-white is cool so think i need a positive display to go with it 😜
i love that watch
yes, for $22 it's infuriatingly great!
Casio might just be listening.. the new GD010 looks very similar to the AE1500. Very easy to read,
Yes, they're listening!
its not infuriating, its clickbaitinating LOL
Plastic display will scratch easily. If it was glass I’d buy it too
But then it wouldn't be $22.
scratches in plastic are easy to polish out ......
just buy a screen protactor. cheap & easily can buy online market.
10 year battery♥️
$22, you can't beat that. Put it through its paces and if it breaks it is cheap to replace.
Yup. You could break 4 of them before you’d get to a G-Shock price territory.
Trust me, you CAN beat that !
@@LV-42617 Tell me what beats it....
the plastic screen will crack real soon using it this rough, it's the only weakness
True. But it’s only $22 so you can get another one.
It will scratch but not crack.
This would be great with a 34 - 36mm case diameter
Hold up. Isn’t that a women’s size for watches?
@JimKinkade wow now. A *classic* size for a watch, you barbarian
@@Lavishlyfat ok. I’ll see if there’s a watch that size to try on.
25-27/ mm is women’s/kid’s size. The old 34 mm was the men’s size, went up to 36 mm. 40 mm is now the standard unisex size. Anything above is considered oversized. 😂😮😛
Saya memiliki yg sm dengan ini sudah memakai selama 5bln..jam yg handal dan tangguh kawan...
It’s a good one!
@@JimKinkade berapa inci lingkar pergelangan tangan anda
would look better without the fake plastic screws, makes it look tacky
I agree. I think the a lot of screws even on gshocks are just decorative.
@@JimKinkade yeah I'm not keen on visible screws on any watch to be honest to me it just looks rough I can forgive it on this watch because it's so cheap but on a gshock costing over £100 no. Just no lol
It's a similar cheaper watch just like denzel Washington in the eqlizer movies
Not even close!
Trust me. That bezel will pop off. I'm sure your friend had to glue it back on like I did lol that was the reason I bought the GW9500 lol
I’ll ask him about that. That’s certainly not something you have to worry about on the Mudman.
Just get a G shock with a positive display instead of the negative one.
Yea, I'll never get a negative LCD again.
Didnt expect it to be this cheap. I thought it was a 100 dollar watch at first.
$22. That's it. Great value if you ask me.
@@JimKinkade thats a steal. they are more expensive here in Europe unfortunately.
one rare casio where you can actually Read somehting ( G shock are a joke regarding display...)
I know! Why are they like that?
You op for a negative display. That's on you brother lol. I have one and if you have bad eyes it's obvious you can't see it
Have 3 i different colours it one of the only watches I can see the time in bed with out my class on I at to bring them it from the USA to the U.K. because no retailer sales them here
Amazon UK sells them.
I haven’t seen any other colors besides this black one which I bought at Walmart.
Nice video ❤
It's okay but I prefer the Skmei 1894 by far.
Ironically the cheaper Casio models imo are superior.
So very true. It's a joke that the so called premium models often can't even offer a decent 24h timer...
A review made for men. Thanks.
Yes, a really good watch for people like us with crap eyes.
El fabricante de Casio recomienda ke debe de caber un dedo entre el brazo y la correa del reloj,me da grima ver personas ke aprietan tanto la correa del reloj,es muy incomodo e insano
That’s true. I want to keep my watch out of the way.
Clickbait detected!😂
I won’ r watching anymore of your boring videos
David! Cmon! Before you go please tell me what I’m doing wrong!
I love my CASIO watches my favorite
Nice watches
I love a big watch easy to read display
I wish they'd make more like this!
LOL… as a rule … most negative screens are not good / easy to read !!! Get the same G-shock you showed but in a regular / positive screen and you will have no issue reading the screen !!!
