My dream classic SF compilation would contain Hyper SF2, Hyper SFA, and the never-before-seen Hyper SF3. Each based on the final iteration's UI (SSF2T, SFA3U, SF3TS respectively), allows you to choose characters from the previous editions of the particular iteration, and gives you the option of three soundtracks from each of the editions. Too bad creative directing of the SF series IP was handed to Capcom USA after the completion of SFAA, ensuring that we'll never get any of these in-house developed masterpiece collections, and are relegated to lazy outsourced emulation-based ROM cash-grabs.
Yep despite the lack of World Tour this is the Ultimate version of Alpha 3. It's perfect and all the characters look right. No Mugen looking CVS 2 characters added
@@sdlock83 Capcom also needed to make a definitive 2d MvC, that polished the MvC2 system; added the stages and music from all older games; and had a Smash Bros-like Sandbox mode where you can set up a lot of things including old gimmicks like MSH gems; and had a 3v3 Dramatic Battle mode; and all giant bosses fully playable with a proper moveset... like Snk did with bosses in KoF 02UM. And about the HSF3 idea, i would also add: new parry mini games, Dramatic Battle mode; KoF-like 3v3 mode; Sandbox mode where you can set up a lot of stuff like change meter sizes and stocks, and add other Capcom fg mechanics like universal Custom Combo (basically everybody with Genei Jin), Alpha Counter, etc. Capcom just stopped caring in the mid 2000s, but they could still have used their 90's fg's some more for very necessary compilations or definitive editions. MvC and SF3 really needed it.

Finally some light shared on this hidden mode! CAPCOM put TONS of awesome stuff ranging from exclusive remixed OST and moves and buried it so deep down the game it's baffling !
Parry is cool! Characters who have not participated in "CAPCOM vs. SNK 2" did not have Parry's graphic, so I remember saying that the director himself drew a pixel art. I forgot the source, so I'm sorry if it's different.
Hyper Street Fighter Alpha seemed to have potential as a new variation of the series when it was first discovered in the SFA Anthology collection back in the days. Too bad it was a very incomplete project as it didn't even have an arcade mode to practice some of the new setups on.
You can only parry in the 'SF3-Ism' in the unlockable Hyper Street Fighter Alpha. First, beat all of the Alpha games, to unlock HSFA, then start it up by holding select while selecting Alpha 1. Then put your cursor over Mazi, hold start, and press left or right. The cursor will dissappear, meaning you've selected it.
As someone who has never heard of this particular port (?), if you would have lied to me that this was a well-done _M.U.G.E.N_ game, then I would have believed you between the parrying, air fireballing, and Guy teleporting.

God,the Alpha games were so fucking ahead of its time.Dramatic battle,parry,good portraits,good designs,endings that give the characters more personality(instead of generic endings that came after it),and the list goes on.

When you choose a character, it'll ask if you want Normal, Mazi, Saikyo, or Classic. For this version, I think you highlight Mazi, hold select and press (1P Left, 2P Right) to scroll off of that selection (it won't show) and then choose it. Normal = Green-ISM (SFA1-style with chain combos), Mazi = Blue-ISM (this, basically X-Ism with 3S Parries and Special/Super Cancels), Saikyo = Red-ISM (changes animations of certain special moves, most noticably characters from MvC2 or Final Fight), Classic = World Warrior-ISM (busted SF2 WW scripts/damage; only applicable to the OG 12 in that game).
Imagine this kind of thing in SF6. A Hyper Street Fighter 6 that can have characters play like past game iterations would be phenomenal. I'll take Hyper Street Fighter Alpha rereleased on PC and console as a consolation prize any day.

Hyper Alpha! My favorite fighting game of all time! Parry-ISM, Darkstalker-ISM, Marvel-ISM, and CE-ISM (banned) along with Old characters like O. Sagat, Bison, Ken, Ryu, Chun-Li, Sim and Zangief along with all the other variations of the cast makes for a great fg and quite fun! Thanks for showing some Hyper Alpha! )

Me and my bf would play SF games non stop and had a huge rivalry. I remeber playing this game at his apartment like 20 years ago, and us coming from regular SF2, this was a new game. We would play hours on end with like 4-5 othe people. However, we did discover the parry system and was always amazed when one would pull it off. Then we just had to figure it out. I believe you had to do a reverse fireball motion (maybe a punch button too?) As soon as a hit would land to do a parry. Im not 100% sure, but thats what i seem to remember .

Hyper Street Fighter Alpha was a lot of fun when i set Player 2 as CPU. If only Capcom took more time to complete it, or complete it now and release a complete version of this game with online (even though I won't play online much), along withadding EVERY CHARACTER from Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max, every mode from Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max, and the Saturn version of Worl dTour mode, this would be one of the GREATEST treet Fightergames of all time. You would be playing Street Fighter Alpha 3, with Street fighter Alpha 2 balancing, or Parries. EDIT: Forgot to mention this game also has a Vampire Savior mode, a VS Mode (VS as in Marvel), and a hidden Shadoloo mode as well.

Brother I still got my copy of Street Fighter Alpha Anthology when it first came out. And that’s the game I still play for my PS2 and other games. Sometimes I wish the game was available on PS4 and PS5 and it would include Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max and not Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix to make it the PERFECT Street Fighter Alpha game.
Was this introduced before P-Groove in CVS2? I kinda miss grooves/isms, they're pretty rare these days, probably since over time one becomes the default and the others are left by the wayside.
Hyper Alpha was amazing. It even had most music from all 3 alpha games plus some SF2 tracks aswell. Only thing I really dislike is that it only has 3 backgrounds. I don't understand why they didn't include all of them. Then it would be the complete Alpha package
HYPER STREET FIGHTER ALPHA is not just a MODE, is a complete SECRET BRAND NEW game, that you can UNLOCK inside the ALPHA ANTHOLOGY disc; a release intended to game online at that time, that mixed all the character's versions from all the previous games. You can choose a character, then the mode you will use and the Energy Bar Mode. ( This means RYU from SF ALPHA 1, can fight against KEN from SF ALPHA 3) And you have some new Energy Bar modes, one of them includes Parrying as SF3 does. You are limited to just 3 or 4 simple backgrounds, but it worths it.
I think I may have that ps2 game somewhere in my collection. Time to bust it out and give it a spin on my BC PS3! Never new about this version of alpha 3. Thanks!
This game should had been included as a free DLC for the Street Fighter 30th anniversary collection. Ashame that isn't making the collection feel barebone.

Hyper Alpha was amazing. It even had most music from all 3 alpha games plus some SF2 tracks aswell.
Only thing I really dislike is that it only has 3 backgrounds. I don't understand why they didn't include all of them. Then it would be the complete Alpha package

@@TonyTheTGR Except that they were already present in the other games in the collection, so why they couldn't just load them in Hyper is beyond me.

HYPER STREET FIGHTER ALPHA is not just a MODE, is a complete SECRET BRAND NEW game, that you can UNLOCK inside the ALPHA ANTHOLOGY disc; a release intended to game online at that time, that mixed all the character's versions from all the previous games. You can choose a character, then the mode you will use and the Energy Bar Mode. ( This means RYU from SF ALPHA 1, can fight against KEN from SF ALPHA 3) And you have some new Energy Bar modes, one of them includes Parrying as SF3 does. You are limited to just 3 or 4 simple backgrounds, but it worths it.
Imagine if Capcom just gave everyone a Parry again.

I wish they had 3 super bars that worked like they did in 3 but you only had access to level 1 supers (also if some characters got supers from 3)

Also funny how after playing A3 so much on turbo2 on fightcade anything else slower looks weird

We need a SF3 Anthology, I can just imagine super cancels and Ryu and Ken having air hadoukens
For proper parrying, it helps if you have OUT-ISM.
I wish Capcom would re-release Hyper SFA on current systems. :/
You could also enable in this in just about any Console port of SFA 3 by unlocking parries and enabling it, in the customer isms mode

Never got to play any of them, and any time I've seen them played, I've never seen a single person pick Charlie, so *shrug*
This game should had been included as a free DLC for the Street Fighter 30th anniversary collection. Ashame that isn't making the collection feel barebone.
