I agree. I'm a musician, and when these songs were coming out about 35-30 years ago, I couldn't really appreciate just how 1.) well written they were, 2.) the arrangements/performances), 3) the great production I was primarily rock and blues, and liked the waaaaaay back stuff (Buck Owens, Haggard, Cash, etc), but wrote this era off. I'm now needing to play them all for a project, and I'm discovering how good they are. And those VOICES!

As a little black girl growing up in Brooklyn NYC this was one of my favorite songs I loved the judds I guess it was their hair besides their voices ( red like my own ) I loved Bonnie Raytte and Rebba MacIntyre too ( my top 4 ladys) Also she had my own grandmother's name Naomi . many made fun of me how could I love country music so much that was so far removed from where we was living but it connected to me they connected to me . Maybe because it reminded me of my own mama singing on Saturday and myself and my sisters singing along while cleaning the house. Rest in peace to a beautiful humble intelligent talented woman . Naomi came from such a tragic childhood and grew up to raise two amazingly talented and wonderful daughters. That says a lot about her. We love you Naomi💛
I saw a old interview where she said her grandpa committed suicide and her grandpa on the other side was killed by her grandma. A few cousins committed suicide and she was molested young and just a lot.
Ashley and Wy had tragic childhoods, also.
Naomi's passing is shocking because she recently performed with Wynonna at the CMT awards and she sang and looked beautiful. Condolences go to Wynonna and Ashley. May Naomi's memory be eternal.

She looked AWFUL during that attempted performance. You could tell she wasn't singing at all. Lip syncing a few words, but definitely NOT singing. Did you watch that performance? I did, and it was scary af. Whoever decided it was a good idea to bring her out retirement should have their asses kicked. She looked lost, terrified and completely out of it. Nothing about her looked "happy ". I'm betting that performance is what put her over the edge. I'm sure she was wondering how the hell she was gonna manage being on another "final tour". This was ridiculous and could have been avoided. Poor Naomi. She was a tortured soul, and should have been protected from herself and the people who pushed her to take on more than she could handle.
@@minigirl6379 I disagree. I don’t think she looked awful. I think she looked darn good considering her age and struggles. Naomi has always taken the back burner to Wynona because she is not a vocalist but the way she beautifully harmonizes with Wynona’s powerful vocals is what has always made The Judd’s The Judd’s. I think it was a beautiful moment and I hope you might consider rewatching their performance and maybe you can see it differently as a special moment for mother and daughter and also a moment for all who loved Naomi and The Judds to cherish forever.

I just can't believe that Naomi is gone. 😥 I saw them in concert at a local concert venue about six weeks before Mama He’s Crazy became a hit. They were absolutely amazing. It was a little surreal that I saw a country artist right before they became famous. One of my favorite concerts.

It was true for me in the beginning too. I love this song because I lost my mama in January. I miss Naomi and know exactly how depression feels. I think that we need to have more resources for people like me who suffers inside each second, of every minute,hour, day, week,month and year. My family has disowned me. I am sad everyday because they don't understand me. Jesus and my cat do though. That's all I need on this earth to sustain me!

My son who is thirty six has bipolar anger issues with depression but as a Christian he used to use praise and worship to control his feelings and anger and he did very well because in NC there’s not a lot of help for mental illness. A few years ago we moved back to my home state Oklahoma and actually our neighbor where I grew up and went to school with their kids etc….lived the state senator and they built a mental hospital in his name and they got my son medication and therapy and he’s doing very well now. It makes a big difference to have those tools we have now because they get expensive meds and therapist for those who can’t afford it otherwise. It’s not the same for Naomi because she said in a interview hers was drug resistant I think was the term she used but she said it means they tried every drug at their disposal but nothing worked for her! It’s very sad and I know she didn’t purposely do it but now her daughters will have to live with it and carry it with them through life. Naomi seemed like a very Christian woman. My husbands cousin was molested at four and it was ongoing by her father and she has several personalities, paranoid schizophrenia and just a lot. She is a good Christian as well and the side effects of all those ailments have been interesting because I have had to deal with it over the years. She tried to commit suicide three times. Just going to dinner is a toss of the coin what might happen. She has attacked verbally not physically families trying to eat, screaming at them to stop talking about her! The paranoid part. As she has aged and better drugs developed and things like that those scenes don’t happen anymore. I was relieved after the last time she tried to commit suicide and was in a coma and it was touch and go but she survived and she promised she would never try that again. That was twenty years ago and she hasn’t. I understand from the families side of things. I hope Wy and Ashley hold on tight to each other.
