What was the cost on lowering it I need a cheap option I have an 05 outback xt also and I'm new to the Subaru game and dont quite know what all OEM is interchangeable yet !!!!!!
The cheapest way to lower an outback would be to get some legacy gt wagon struts, and a set of legacy rear upper control arms. This would put you a little lower than stock legacy gt height. If you want a little lower you can get some legacy gt lowering springs on lgt struts and that would give you a pretty low ride height. My setup is probably around $2000. Depending on if you source new or used parts you can do the above setup I stated for around 500 give or take
You can lower it without the arms but you'll have a lot of camber and toe in that you can't adjust out. Its probably worth it to just get the arms now, because your gonna spend that money eventually going through tires because of a bad alignment
Subaru, I went to a junkyard and pulled it off of a Subaru legacy because they have the smaller control arm, but I think Megan racing makes an adjustable one if you want to go that route
Great video!!! Man does this video help, thanks for posting. How does it ride? I’m also wondering if you think it’s worth getting the bump steer correction kit from whiteline as well? And, I’m thinking of getting the swift springs. I already had all the parts that you have in the video in my shopping cart lol.
I'm glad you liked it, I would definitely get the bumpsteer correction kit. That is the next part I will be getting for my suspension. The car feels great doesn't oversteer too much, and doesn't understeer at all. At high speeds around a corner it does shimmy if you hit a bump. That's the only complaint I have about it, but the bumpsteer kit should fix that. I am planning on making another video on my suspension setup to talk more in detail about why I chose the parts I did
F-04-BR they are for a Subaru legacy, so you can go lower. They make an outback coilovers as well, but I found the legacy ones for a good deal so I went with those.
thanks fore the info. i am going for the Outback coilovers. and replacing the suspension for the aluminium spec B type. a lot of speed bumps here in the Nederlands.
@@SWSpeedCo what brand are they that they're in Lbs/inch vs "K"s? I've got Fortune 500s, 8K f & r vs. usual 8K & 6K f & r and I'm trying to get an idea before I put them on what the ride quality will be like vs. doing 6K rear. Thanks
In all reality the 8 k in the front will be better than 6 because of the weight of the engine, and any ride quality issues can be tuned out with your damping adjustment
The legacy bump stops are only like a half inch smaller so it doesn't give you the clearance you need when you go as low as i did. The arms give you like an added 2 inches of clearance

do you need to change the arms or can you just rock coilovers? im not going for slammed....at least not yet

What brand makes the rear upper control arm to clear the bump stop? I can't find it anywhere

@@SWSpeedCo Is there a specific bushing you got from energy?
@@SWSpeedCo or do you know the part number from them?
The part number for the energy suspension bushings is 19.3105R
I bought the whole rear end kit but I only used the bushings I needed
@@SWSpeedCo did that include the two trailing arm bushings or is that a separate part?
What's the part number for the trailing arm bushing. Gonna be doing the spec b trailing arms soon
The main pivot bushing is W63398, and the smaller rear bushing that goes to the lower control arm is W63394
@@SWSpeedCo thanks man! Appreciate it! Love the build btw been checking in every now and then to see how far you've gotten
Thank you, I appreciate it! I'm always trying to make progress with it

That's definitely the way to go, the reare end is at max height and in my opinion is still too low, and then I had to make the front match
How did you get your traling arm bushings out without going to the shop?
Blow torch to get the inner metal sleeve out, and then I used a hacksaw to cut trough the outer metal sleeve and then you can just gently tap it out
Hell ya. Thanks. Thanks for the video as well. The most detailed one I've found for lowering my outback!!!
Thank You, Not many people do it so there's not much competition lol
The only ones I found just showed what they replaced. We like to see how and what things we will encounter during the process
Glad I could help!
Do u need the white line arms to slam
You don't need it but you really should get them, if you don't your alignment will be way off
What spring rates are the coilovers f & r?
The front is 336 lb/inch and the rear is 448 lb/inch, they are just the springs that come on the coilovers

It might make your car more understeer prone so a big rear sway bar will help square up the handling
Couldn't you just have used a Legacy bump stop rather then changing the arm ?
The legacy bump stops are only like a half inch smaller so it doesn't give you the clearance you need when you go as low as i did. The arms give you like an added 2 inches of clearance
Helps ima slam a Baja
