to call myself a casual fan during the 80s would’ve been a stretch. It wasn’t until I inadvertently saw this version one night on TV after coming home late. It is by far one of the top 10 most smoldering, red hot performances I’ve ever seen in my life. Made a fan out of me.
I love how they managed to make this more sleazy and sordid than the version on the album. The guitar work is especially good. And transposing it down a key was a smart move - her voice is the hand inside this whirling, droning glove . This is perfection..
Damn this is good, really good. Never heard this song performed live before, I love the changes that they made and the little things they added to this song.
@@mbreally2714 The album version of this track is Banshees at their best. The lyrics are incredible, the music is especially good - the camera effect as percussion, that low synth bass... oh so good. I loved how the Banshees took so many different styles - in this case, electro - and made it their own.
Love this version. I saw this tour in LA. Siouxsie’s vocals almost seems drunken, but she hits every note with perfection. Sie ist eine kraft der Natur 🖤
mark welby Blood One of my favourite band from my youth till today ,thank you very much for this upload ..Great band ,great song from Kaleidoscope and Siouxsie Sioux is Goddess and The Banshees (Budgie, Severin and John McGeoch and other guitarists) are her gods..Cheers ! ! !
I am very sure Siouxsie was very influenced by records like Being Boiled from The Human League and John Foxx Underpass in 1980. One of Siouxsie's best records, I love Electro Siouxsie so much
Absofrickenlutely pheNOM!! 😱 Over time, Some other versions morphed into some more bebop, "upbeat" (no, that's not the word, but in my defense, it's after 1.20am and up nearly 24hrs ~ and not as a result of anything fun! Haha. )danceable versions. This exquisite rendition calls to mimd all of seedy, seamy and steamy back alleyways where drops of condensation splat on the black lacquered drive nooks where you don't want to meet....everyone's gaze. 🤔 Atmospheric moodiness at its most delicious
The sound on the bass is so haunting, they really nailed this live.

Somehow better than the album version, and that's one of my favourite songs ever
Masteress she’s mesmeric
That is heavy stuff. Brilliant.
Fukn love this
I've heard so many different versions of this song, they'd add new arrangements to it on every tour... Certainly one of Siouxsie's favorites.

The original bassline was performed on a Moog synthesizer.

Tbh I think this is better than the album version, her voice makes it sound very dark and haunting, love it 🖤🖤🖤

Agreed, probably my favorite song by them entirely.
