Finally, a realistic DIY repair video. Hotter than heck, no lift, no toolbox full of SnapOns, laying in the driveway. Thanks so much for making this video.
Only way I can do my work for now but hopefully the future holds a shop just to speed up the process lol glad it’s helpful for you and thanks for watching!
I do not understand why Caliper has come off. the but bottom strut the but to the right and the bottom bar drops down remove. 3 nuts on the top strut and it comes out. The rotor might need to be supported
Good video but you did not properly torque all the nuts correctly only the lugnuts. But you did tighten the strut bolts with the vehicle weight on it, just not torque to spec. Strut top bolts 30 ft-lbs Bottom strut bolt 406 ft-lbs Lower control arm bolt 266 ft-lbs Caliper bolts 24 ft-lbs Keep up the good work.
Just saying, you don't want the suspension coming apart while your wife is driving down the highway. Good that you put Loctite on the strut bolts but I didn't see you put any on the control arm bolt. Safety first.

@@swrvtech What size is the nut on the bottom of the strut?
Why do I find these sounds relaxing
Great detailed video bud!
Thank you I appreciate it!
Thanks for your detailed hard work! How’s the driving with new struts compared with one ones? Thanks 😊
Night and day different especially with the new bilsteins in the front, wish we did them in the rear too
I just got these on Amazon for 99 each for the rears
Did you a get an alignment for the rear after replacing the struts? I’m wondering if rear alignments are a thing?
They are in independent suspension yes and yes we did get it corrected

If it looks like it might put tension on brake lines I take it off and support it because I don’t want issues from stretching the brake line.

Thank you and you are correct on that, they’re all pretty tight according to the size of the bolt.

I understand completely and they shouldn’t go anywhere, thanks for looking out
$100 for the set when you roll the dice and compress the springs…
My mind set is if the shock is blown out for a long time the spring has excessive wear so it can’t hurt to replace them
That’s true. You do have one of the better videos on this keep up the good work.
@@Matt82 we appreciate it! Slowly but surely getting there
@@swrvtech its also a lot safer just to do the quick strut instea of playing with a hand grenade and compressing the spring
@thesniperhead12 it barely had pressure to get the nut on but to each there own
