The opening convo is the complete reverse of the rave one: the guys reminiscing about things Sydney and Kate have absolutely no conception of.
Bummed these are only an hour-ish long but I am enjoying them!
At this rate it’ll take six years to finish this campaign. Still love GCP
42:10 Deadly means on a crit, you add the die of the listed size after you doubled your damage, i.e. 2 x (1d4 + 4) + 1d8.
Thursdays are the best day of the week now! And Tuesdays can't Miss GITT or Legacy.
Been loving GITT season 2 and Haunted City is AMAZING
We need a Glass Cannon branded "Ladies Night" t-shirt.
The flow of the banter gets me every time😂😂😂
Has Troy and the Gang gotten their hands on some sort of dark Chronomantic magicks? Their sessions end way too quickly, but every clock I check seems to indicate I'M the crazy one. Some dark shenanigans afoot here... dark, wonderful, entertaining shenanigans. Godspeed, GCN, as your quest to fracture our perception of the flow of time continues.
Oh, glad to see Dua Lipa made another appearance this week. Stacking that roster!
I was thinking the same thing! I saw the stream end and thought "Wait, that can't be right, they just started!"
@@AJBernard Amen, it seems to just get faster and faster with each show. Pretty soon, Troy's just going to start the stream, look at the camera before gesturing wildly with flash paper as hidden doves fly ... "Welcome to the Glass Cannon Podcast. We're going to make 2 hours of your life... DISAPPEAR!" as the Final Countdown plays with poor timing in the background.

These photos are all incredible
Thanks!
I started laughing as soon as I saw the thumbnail
@Matthew : Don't forget to add your 1d6 precision damage from "Strategic Strike" when you Devise a Stratagem :)
Anyways, I'm so happy to follow campaign 2, you're great guys!!!
Thoroughly starting to get the flavour to this group and the path ahead. Like a few others here I wish the actual play time was closer to a solid 60-90 minutes but I'm ok if the episode runs a little light occasionally if it makes sense to edit the story into discreet chapters. One of the reasons I cannot watch other popular streams anymore is that I don't have 5 goddamn hours to watch and I don't need 3 hours of players "developing" characters with little forward momentum. That's why I find the GCN product far more attractive because the players all are talented enough to improv but also committed enough to the overall story to not just make it all about themselves. Thanks for an entertaining adventure path so far!
Thanks!
Now, I don’t want to sound ungrateful, but 45 minutes of actual play? It’s not fair that something so good should be so brief… I’m not asking for a 4 hour a week slog, but maybe a smidge more play time?
Love the banter its funny but the actual ep was just a combat? and thats about it. Lets progress the story a bit as well pleaes
He didnt expect them to win 😂
Same old complaint the GCP has always gotten. It's fair criticism, but banter heavy eps have been their hallmark from the very beginning 8 years ago. Personally I like the banter, and as long as it never gets as bad as it did during book 5 of Giantslayer (30+ minutes of bant, 20-ish minutes to... finish another fire giant fight that started in the previous episode), I'm fine with it.
I see Troy finally made Syd put her coffee in the GCN tumbler lol
So excited for this story to unfold! Love the banter, but could definitely do with a smidge longer of an episode
Glad you enjoyed it!
Did Matthew forget to add the d6 from Strategic Strike when he used the devised stratagem? I only saw him roll a single d6, twice now.
Also noticed that Troy let Kate get away with flanking while in Monastic Archer Stance, even though you can only make ranged strikes in that stance.
@@JCstoryteller07he may be letting them get a few advantages now and then to help them out. Troy's on the record as a bit of a killer DM, so his players need whatever advantage he can grant them.
Get a projector and project the battle onto the middle of the table!
Keep in mind that these episodes were recorded and in the can several weeks before the actual release, so if you're giving feedback, it's gonna take time to implement.
Zephyr had a really epic first combat scene ! Doing a superb follow-up of Daro'Do brutal attack on the flank. If it was a movie, that scene would have served to show the audience that Zephyr is no fake martial artist and does not need her bow; she just prefers using it. And it shows that Tallitha really needs her martial friends! (I wrote that too soon, though it certainly required teamwork: no spoilers for the rest of the video.)
nb: also loved the cleric and frightened goblin, but that was a highlight if it was an action scene.
Am I they only one who watches not for the roleplay but for the pregame conversation? These guys crack me up!!
I have been listening to the audio version and now I finally understand why the intro song is so damn long haha
Same, i started just listening, then saw the vid and thought I'll give it a try... now I'll listen to the vid if I'm driving ha ha. Good bye internet
The banter is GOLD comedy with prime material, and I love everyone involved. The game time itself is too short, though! Maybe 20m of banter and 1h of game time? Spoil us! ;)
Matthew saying “someone get this man some nums” made me smile so wide 😅
I want a camera up in the rafters facing down at the whole table for occasional group shots.
You'll never forget your first initiative!
You can dismiss the Light Cantrip effect at will, or as mentioned, cover/hide the object w/light upon it. If you want to ref: a direct action - see DISMISS. Dismiss is typically used for long duration Spells - if there are complications to it - they will be in the spell description. Hope this helps, moving forward
Thanks!
2e combat is SOOOO GOOOOOD.
Skid's "frightened little goblin" thing is fricken amazing!
Great crew, great GM, fantastic story... best live play going. Thanks, all! And I still want that hat Troy is wearing!
My man Troy with that King Kong Bundy (R.I.P) shoutout 👍
Sydney's family gathering around after Thanksgiving dinner to watch Debbie Does Dallas.
"But... why is she..."
"Shh! You'll understand when you're older, honey."
So amazing watching this series evolve! One of my favorite things each week. Started finding other of your shows because I'm just HOOKED!
Welcome aboard!
A note for bow users: Bows only use two hands when firing - when you're not striking with it, you have a hand free! (Not that I would begrudge any GM houseruling that away - bows are already ridiculous even without 1+ Hands instead of 2).
You also do not need a hand free to do your basic unarmed attacks - kicks, headbutts, etc. all count, fist is only listed as an example but that's buried real deep in the rulebook.
Damn never realized how Skid just towers over Troy!
Troy is REAL close to Matthew in that thumbnail, while everyone else has a polite pelvic distance from one another. Jeez guys, get a room. 😂❤
I don't care how much banter you do but could you make the game part closer to an hour
Yes please don't shorten the banter, but a hour of story is good too. We are going long!
Totally agree! Appreciate trying to keep it tight, and love the bant, but no one wants 5 ep combats lol
Totally agree!
I agree! Pleeeeeeeease!
Seeing all the comments about the banter, i would like to throw out there that i absolutely love the banter and thought the length and composition of this episode was spot on! The GCN has consumed so much of my media intake and i love it
Thanks!
We had classmates older siblings that was allowed to stay up longer with access to paid movie channels record horror movies on VHS tapes that then got exchanged at recess in middle school
Classic Troy death description.....
Matt gives eloquent death strike, rapier thru the eye of the Gorga....
Troy: "The Gorga dies."
Man It's been a Journey, I started listening to you guys back in 2018 I think, I've listened to all of the original GCP, A&A, Raiders and Legacy (loving Legacy btw and am excited at the prospect of Raiders eventually returning) Sidequest sidesesh, The live shows a whole bunch of new game who dis and more....god I've listened to so much GCN content, Thanks for making my work days a lot more fun, Love the whole lot of you.
Love how the read the Devise a Stratagem ability and still manage to not realize it does extra damage, lol
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE pre-game banter, but if you've got 20 minutes of it and then only 40 minutes of gameplay we're definitely not getting enough game per week. I'd highly suggest upping the episode time at least by some amount.
Got to agree. I think 2 hours is a good minimum time for game session. 1 hour (or specially 40 minutes) just isn't enough time to get into the story.
Great night to be in the NAISH !
GCP will always have my heart but recently everything has been prime! This might be the peak high of GCN and I'm here for it!
The description of the end of the ep sounded like a Kurosawa film. Amazing
♪ ♫ these gates are made for walkin'
and thats just what i'll do
one of these days these gates are gonna walk all over you ♫ ♪
Lol
Loving everybody so far. After that fight, I feel like Troy may be the GM that Orion Acaba thought Matthew Mercer was during the K'varne episodes.
Can you explain this? I know the story of that but not what you mean
@@baku354 Orion figured out that K'varne was a Beholder, and he assumes this meant Matt was trying to be a killer DM, the kind of DM who delights in killing his player's characters and generally has an "I win attitude".
This is why he had such a freak out at the end of the episode where they identify K'varne through a scry, shouting "Oh come on, really Matthew?"
Troy is known for being a pretty lethal DM, or so the cast makes allusion to.
Great episode! Thank you GCP!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Weapons that are deadly are deadly right off the rip
Critical specialization is when it would become flat footed after a crit
I almost crashed I was laughing so hard about the big bird reference. Y'all are amazing!
Okay i can see why people are pointing out how short the actual game play felt, because it was a quick combat.
But i think Troy was just expecting a longer combat, though with Light and a few crits the combat resolved quickly.
Kudos to Skid on the sekf imposed frightened, reminds me of someone taking sickened in Skids Raiders of the Lost Continent, early on.
Great stuff glass cannon!
Incredible editing and amazing performance. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome show, great cast
Thanks!
The many times I've imagined playing with you merry band of maniacs, 54:10 tells me I'd 100% be the Sydney of the group. I only love to watch Joe lose it from afar! 😩🤣🤣🤣 Joe, you do it like no other!!😍😍😍
Every time I watch the intro I just imagine the SNL voice over coming in when y’all’s names pop up. Just like “SYDNEY EMMANUEL……..MATTHEW CAPODICASA…..”
Keep the budget low, imagine it with Joe's voice
Epic Show Loving the setup!!
Thanks!
Love this SNL styled open! Fantastic!
Thanks so much!
Thank you very much
Good game guys, but please if the ep is only an hour don’t take 27 minutes to do the opening, banter and ads. I know it probably wasn’t planned to be an hour but it’s felt in these first 3 eps that the banter is a bit drawn out and on top of that do we need 2 recaps?
I quit following the GCP in the pandemic for a number of reasons, but I gotta say its great getting into the some PF2e with the new and improved crew!.
Welcome back!
Just in case this helps someone else, I would much recommend casting 2-action Heal, rather than stepping to an ally and casting 1-action heal, as it both gives you range and increases the healing 53:49 (not criticizing the cast, just giving out advice)
Haha i loved this banter, it reminded me of when i used to sneak and watch TV as a teen when i finally had a TV in my room!
In the summer i used to watch Star Trek Voyager and DS9 at 4 am, The Twilight Zone from the 80's at midnight at lmao (Italian tv channels wouldn't show sci-fi ever during those times...) Oh and the Horror movies omg... scary stuff!
Legendary banter
Hahaha I suggested about a month ago that Joe would love to home-brew "lay on hands" to be made available to him.... I rest my case! MINIMUM HEAL! Epic moment!
I don't want less banter, but having an hour of actual play would be rad.
I thought that the deadly trait was always in effect for critical, if the weapon has that trait. It's just the critical specialization of the weapon that doesn't unlock until later levels. Since a wakizashi is in the sword group that would have applied flat footed (or soon to be off guard after the remaster) until the start of the players next turn.
Loving the campaign so far. Also that intro music is catchy as hell.
Thanks!
haha nice background work on this photo
45:15 Stowing the Bow!
Loving the youtube content, keep up the hard work
Thanks!
American Ninja! I remember watching that.
Love the photos
Thanks!
Troy started college before I was born. that is insane.
I don’t hate the length if I’m being honest! 60-90 is a nice sweet spot, at least to my tastes😊
Rules clarification: Cloak of Shadows allows the creature to take the Hide action in dim light. This means it has to make a stealth check against the perception DC of each creature that can sense it. It becomes hidden from each creature whose perception DC it beats.
Holy god that new song just slaps so friggin hard! If the logs weren’t smooth before they are now!
It is a banger for sure!
fastest hour and 9 minutes of all time!! ik troy said he wants 90ish min eps, but i would listen to a 5 hour episode
I'm picturing the "Devise a Strategem" as the process Robert Downey JR's Sherlock Holmes uses in fights. Very cool 😎
Wait, there was public softcore in NYC in the late 90s and I missed it? Oh well, I was too busy sneaking downstairs to watch Space Ghost Coast to Coast to notice.
OMG a Robyn Byrd reference!!!! the memories :) LOLOL
Drink every time Kate and Sydney "awwww" over something Buggles does.....
"I wanna google this, but I'm not going to." That was the name of one of the shows on the porno channel.
Hilarious episode!
Thanks!
I love your banter - it's like your special flavor. But. Gotta agree with others - would love to see play time be bigger. At least 1:3 ratio
Week after week, just a solid start to this campaign.
Thanks!
Can wait for Friday's Campaign 2 Day :D
Your Investigator needs to make his Stratagem Attacks with his Intelligence Modifier and then use the Strategic Strike Class Feature to get their D6 of Precision Damage. He's going to short himself a ton of damage throughout the game if he doesn't.
So, a lot of people are commenting on the shortness of the episode. I didn't notice, -but now I'm wondering how much time of arguing over the Deadly die had to be cut.-
100% fan funbles and crits are necessary!
you know i've been thinking the intro music and visuals remind me of some thing and I figured it out today - American Gods TV intro music
I've only known Buggles for 4 episodes but if anything happened to him I'd riot
For the weird banter, it was not just New York. We also had that in Quebec around 11PM: free erotic stuff that anyone could see on non-cable TV. Those days are gone, and it was honestly terrible quality so nothing missed. But to claim "stuff" is not free nowadays has to be a joke.
Love the 20 mins banter. But maybe add another 20 mins of gameplay on the back end. Making it a tight 1.5 hours.
You know what would have been a great follow up to the Light praise at 58:39 Troy? "Bottle cap!"
There should just be a weekly hour show devoted to banter where the guys talk about their weird-ass childhoods that make the current them make sense while Sydney and Kate alternate looks of shock and disdain.
9:00 question this is you want but i can relate to him. when the nintendo dsi came out it came with an internet browser. when living with my aunt if get grounded from the computer me and my brother will use the dsi internet to browser youtube and other stuff. note we didnt get a smartphone till way later on. the other was psp but ngl its internet browser is crap due to you have to move around using dpad/slide stick vs the ds it was as stylus and touch screen.
Two things, if you can only make one attack in a round, use your strongest weapon. And two, there's no reason to waste an action putting away a bow to make unarmed attacks. Your character has feet.
I would love to have the sub podcast called The Glass Banter Cannon its all banter nothing else
I was completely unsupervised as a child and we had a bunch of bootlegged vhs tapes. I'd just pick one and put it on. Anyone ever do a Serpent and the Rainbow/Full Metal Jacket double feature when they were 11? No? Just me? Ok.
Sydney gets deadly d8 at first level :)
Shadows of the first fight against wolves in campaign 1! Where are the shadow rats now?
Less bant and more game would definitely be welcome.
