Someone should tell Kate that once she goes into her archery stance it doesn't go away unless she stows or drops her bow, goes unconscious or changes to a different stance. Love the campaign, y'all are killing it!
If she wanted she could have grabbed the bow, enter stance, then flurry of bows, which would've been kickass but meh. New chars n mechanics time take to get used to (prone is only -2 attacks, no longer a restriction to crossbows only)
She was prone. Could she have done that from the ground? Edit: Ah okay. It's only a -2, that's dope. New to pathfinder
Not true. Once she throws a punch she has ended the stance.
@@quark12000 That's a common misconception "While in this stance, the only Strikes you can make are those using longbows, shortbows, or bows with the monk trait." You have to lose the stance before you could throw a punch. At least as far as rules as written goes.

I like to watch whenever possible but the editing is real bad soooo many cuts it's dizzying. I preferred the old way with split screens so we can focus on different people we like
According to the network horse torture is fine but unicorn torture crosses a line.
The movie they were trying to think of about unicorn and the Horn and power is "Legend" a truly amazing great film. Also Thank you all GCN crew this was such an awesome episode.

I did notice that him and Matt often have opposing views on this. Just the other I watched the Strange Aeons ep with Miss Old Lady, where she's being mad brave and Joe's advising a different want to escape but Matt sticks to his guns.

Agreed, maybe Sydney's decisions on her first two turns weren't "optimal" but the unicorn wild-card was awesome, and in this case I'll take RP > tactics. The party's learning how dangerous combat can be, and that's part of the fun. But IMO Joe had a judgey and "I know better" attitude during both Syndney and Kate's turns, which really turned me off. (eg @50:36) I'm 100% on board for tactics debates, but I thought that came across as talking down which is too bad. Loved the combat overall though!
Joe is the tactics over rp guy of the group, good to have, but can lead to conflict.

@@teronaumanen7944 of course, but the episode is self-contained part of story... no weird pause and attempts to remember what preceded discussion players are in middle of right now...
You might also say, books don't need chapters - and some don't have them - you can stop reading anytime you want and continue where you stopped, but it's always nice to have some point of reference to stop reading and digest. The show is the same.

I am loving this! Sydney and Kate are new to me (the last NEW member I was current for was Eli in Starfinder AnA) but they're very quickly growing on me. Great to have a fair split and rep for all.
I love Troy's GMing, very firm once decided on a path.
Love Skid's flavour, that Goblin is so sweet and then FWIP!, summoning angry dead goblin spirits?
Joe's doing the best cleric I've never seen before.
Always enjoy Matthew's flavour and story, the solid flavour-over-other player.

After 20ish years of playing RPGs in different groups, I've only met a handful of players that hate sports. There's a lot of crossover: statistics, storylines, roles, teams, heroes, villains, arguing about rules, emotional highs and lows over things you can't control, fantasy lifestyles, etc. They're both great and so are you Glass Cannon for loving them both!
Matthew with the surprise ancestry! And skid playing the frightened condition up is top notch roleplay. Sweet episode this week, the action is only just getting started!!

1:29:12 NO! No no no! She does NOT go to wounded 2, she goes to wounded 1. When you're brought back from dying, your dying value does not give a 1-to-1 conversion to wounded.
I lost my first pf2e character due to this mistake haha
It did in the playtest and it was awesome. Not saying it should be that way but it made for thrilling moments at our table.
I noted that, and thought maybe she had dropped in a previous ep and not been healed of the first Wounded?
But yeah, rules are always gonna be tricky.
All the talk of Glass Cannon softball at the beginning makes me think of the episode of Deep Space 9 where in the midst of war with the Dominion, the main cast spends a whole episode playing baseball against some Vulcans. Best moment was when everyone was cheering and Worf joins in with a "Death to the opposition!" I could see that comin' from the Crosstown Jerks!

Started listening to the pod back in 16, and man does it feel like I have jumped in a time machine and went back... BOTW, Legacy, A&A, Raiders, etc. listened to almost every episode of them.. but this.. this right here has thrown me back to Giant Slayer days.. thank yall for what you do, you started me on my dnd adventure and now I have played so many adventures and even started GM'ing! If anyone had remembered that Kate went off map, Zephyr wouldn't be in range to get crit. Just an fyi for next time, wouldn't want a character to die like that.
The only thing different is that it would have been a double move, he could reach her. But he wouldn't have been able to move to Lucky after that.

Ok. First off I LOVE Joe and his energy. The Naish wouldn’t be where it is today without him. He seems like a fun and giant sweetheart of a dude.
But holy shit, let people play their characters my dude. This show was born from doing “non-optimal” stuff like putting L’orc in a catapult. This isn’t Dark Souls. Let them have fun, buddy. It’ll work out one way or another and be a great story pass or fail.
Joe's character has low-key become one his funniest characters.

Dying 1, 2, or 3 go to Wounded 1 the first time they are healed. Doesn't matter if there was a crit. Second time they go to Wounded 2.

Have I been playing wrong? Shouldn't Zephyr have only gone to wounded 1 on losing the dying condition? I thought you just increased your wounded value whenever you loose the dying condition, regardless of the dying value.
Yeah normally but she was dropped on a crit and took more than double her HP in damage
@@TheBaldParakeetThis is completely wrong. Going to 0 from a crit puts you at Dying 2, has nothing to do with Wounded. You're confusing the massive damage rules which only care about taking double your *maximum* HP in one blow.
Original comment is correct, Wounded does only increase by 1 when you lose the Dying condition. She would be at Wounded 1.

If someone is standing with a lightsource behind them like the druid did when kate wanted to shoot the first round I would argue that being backlit even if you are standing in relative darkness would make you a visible target as you block the light from the torch in a human shaped outline.

She either has to drop the bow or drop her Stance though, since you can only make strikes with a bow in Monastic Archer Stance.

Sometimes skipping straight to the main quest skipping all the side and worldbuilding parts of a module isnt a good idea folks, sometimes its meant to level you up so you can take on the harder encounters like this one. Friendly GM tip.
1:08:40 has anyone else pointed out that Kate doesnt have to take an action to enter monastic archer stance this second round because she did it on her first round so she doesnt have to do it each time she shoots.

That was very nice of Troy to not tack on the good (holy damage) to Syd's character. I think the way they were reworking alignments was that Holy/unholy wouldnt affect creatures with those traits (like demons will be unholy, angels will be holy).

I think she definitely was immune to Good damage--not because she's nonevil (since there's no alignment), but because the last act she committed seemed to be an objectively good and selfless act. That seems to fit the vibes the group talked about in the S0.
anyways this episode had some pretty rough vibes around the middle. You can sort of tell when people are getting actually frustrated. -I think this is why the game needs Hero Points.-

I'm @KAJ and Bruce Lee. The defense against a taller opponent who tries the hand on the head thing is GRAB THEIR WRIST, and then target the inner forearm and upper arm to target certain pressure points, generally shifting to that side and using that arm as a shield from their other side, while targeting weak points in the ribcage or slightly lower area.. If possible, if you have good torso strength and climbed A LOT of trees, treat that arm like a tree limb, and monkey yourself into a position to start kicking that upper arm. Esp. if you're too short to hit the chest. I've use the climbing thing a few times, and it usually results in them off balance, on the ground, and if you monkey towards their back, then you've advantage and a few good judo hold options.

Hey now, if you don't play or watch basketball, even being pretty familiar with sports, it's easy to not think of jumping without shooting as travelling.

Once you enter a monk stance, you cannot just "end" it willingly. There are conditions like going down or combat ending which allow for the stance to end. For double slice or flurry-like actions, rolling both hit die and then damage die moves things along a bit smoother. Also Joe's character being a full support cleric yet having almost no CHA for fonts is funny. Otherwise, you're all doing a great job.
Most obvious and relevant Kareem Abdul-Jabbar fact is that he plays TTRPGS. But never mind that.
And Legend (with Tom Cruise) is the movie about the power of a unicorn horn.

I'm not sure if it's just me but there's a weird fuzziness with the colored background, like a film grain but only for that area, and it's very distracting and it exists even in 4K. It's there in the last episode as well but it's particularly grainy here. What's up with that?

Even as a joke, I'm with Joe - i cannot stand when Metagaming is misused for "knowing your characters strengths". Would be like someone calling me a metagamer IRL if I didnt try to somersault between an enemy's legs because I used the knowlege that I'm not an acrobatic person.
