I'm GMing this AP. It's my first AP, and I gotta say, we've been having a blast. Comes highly recommended. Don't listen to people saying that it's a "railroad." There are plenty of opportunities to explore side adventures/side quests if your GM is interested.

Comment, algorithm, I played two sessions of this AP and my GM couldn't keep GMing.

Was that because of the AP the GM stopped or for other reasons?

As someone two sessions into GMing this module: any sections/plot threads you’ve seen in the later books that could use some love/tweaking?

I love these - thanks for putting this together. Question: how "level 1" does the first adventure feel? I have a thing about level 1 characters doing level 1 things. Is it explained why they could take out that druid grove? It would seem that taking out a whole grove would be beyond the capability of low level adventurers.

It's certainly explained why they need to confront the druids. But if it matches your view of what first level characters should do is a bit subjective. Most of the druids they face are level 0, with some level 1s. And Bolan, the boss, is 2nd level.

You have to remember that not all groves are lead by arch-druids or high level druids. Just like villages and towns they all started small. NPCs are not the same as player characters as they are not heroes of golarion.

Starting this campaign in a few weeks with one of my playgroups. Plan on making a few alterations as we go, but the themes are exciting to both my players and I. Looking forward to your next video and the commentary surrounding it.

How does this AP stack up against Sky King's Tomb? I know they are different, but my group and I are going from D&D5e to P2e (with some experience) and are trying to decide between the two.

I usually love Paizo's APs, but Gatewalkers is terrible. If it wasn't for the encounters being mechanically functional, I'd say it was WotC quality.
There is almost no paranormal investigation, the player characters spend far too long as flunkies of what appears to be a writer's pet NPC and there are long stretches where it's just boring. The latter being particularly prevalent in Book One. It's just terrible.

I had no issues with the companion NPC. All you need to do is write them into one of the character's backstories so that they care about that chunk of the adventure. A little buy-in from your players will give you a LOT of narrative payback. Plus, the NPC is almost worthless in combat, so your party will still feel powerful.
As for the investigation, there are several instances where decisions made and information gathered have substantial impact on how the scenario plays out. Without getting into spoilers, I'm thinking of large chunks of Book 2 and 3 in particular. Book 1 is a little more on-rails, but I see that as a necessary conceit to put the players on the back foot going into back half of Book 1.
I'm also unsure of how you found the last part of Book 1 boring. That portion is one of the most WILD deviations from expectation. The last encounter in particular is super fun looking to me. And if you're willing to run with it, there are a TON of extremely interesting possibilities for side questing as well.
Out of curiosity, did you run this campaign or just read it? In my opinion, it reads better on subsequent re-reads and runs very well as long as you are willing to massage some of the details. Though I find that all pre-written adventures need some tweaking to work with your group. Running them straight-up is almost never recommended.
Not all games are for all people. I'm sorry to hear you didn't like it, though I still strongly encourage you to give it another chance. It's VERY unique from what I've read.
