With a mini-series along side it called "Lois Lane Divorces the DC Universe." I don't even think the Marvel Universe is safe from her.

It will somehow at some point involves Lois Lane marrying the universe itself. As in, the Universe, not the people living in it.

I just tried 4 times to type a joke comment about getting a collection of Sasha mannequins but each attempt resulted in something even creepier and more inappropriate than the last. Turns out it's surprisingly difficult to pretend to be creepy without seeming genuinely creepy. There's a lesson in there somewhere but it'll take some thinking before I work out exactly what it is.

@@dithaingampanmei I spoke to my daughter about it and she tells me that as a woman it is almost impossible to tell joke creepy from real creepy unless you know the person really well. And that it can easily be upsetting either way in most cases. Even if they trust you absolutely you might bring back memories and/or feelings from some other creep. Which is obviously something to be avoided.
The lesson therefore is that no matter how funny your joke is (and mine wasn't even all that funny anyway) if it could possibly be construed as creepy by anyone who might hear/read it then keep it to yourself. The potential fun/laughs your joke might cause doesn't justify the possibility of making the person upset or creeped out.
Also, I need to be more aware that people on the internet are real and have feelings. If I was having this conversation in real life I would never have brought the subject up in the first place. Without meaning to be my initial post is indeed creepy. Which I apologise for Sasha, if you should see this comment.

Actually, I think there should be a story written about a mystical sculptor that makes Lois Lane busts and enchants them so that the owner will fall desperately in love with Lois and want to marry her. It has to be some magical villain that secretly hates Superman, even though he also sells a bust of Lois to him toop
That… honestly sounds like a really interesting story. Kinda like how the Reverse Flash targets everything *around* Barry specifically to make him miserable, this bastard decided that they’d make sure Superman lost whoever he cared about… but didn’t know Clark Kent was Superman, so their choices were “target Lois Lane,” “target Jimmy Olsen,” or “risk pissing off some other member of the JL for targeting *them*.” Sends a bust to every bachelor Lois knows (including Clark, there you go, now he has one,) and every man handsome and/or successful enough to be potentially tempting, forcing Superman to watch as the woman he loves has like 100 more viable suitors throwing themselves at her feet.
Silver Age sensibilities state that she’d inevitably marry one of them and be happy without Superman, leaving him destitute! Go Bronze Age or later, and you can have the added dark twist of the magic being lifted after she’s married, making Lois’s husband fall *out* of love with her just as fast & leaving her trying to figure out what happened.

Was pretty amused by the ending of two old people in a relationship through their virtual idealized selves, if only because it made me think of the San Junipero episode of Black Mirror. Wild that this idea popped up at the time it did. I'm pretty confident that most people, given how our technology and society are moving, expect this to be a real life thing, . Futurism is weird.

I was wondering why you were making that voice whenever astounding man said something. Then, when it was revealed that it was a robot, a couple of minutes later...I finally pieced it together; and they call Batman the "World's Greatest Detective!"
Well, before the real plot was revealed, I originally thought Astounding Man might turn out to be one of Superman's robots he disguised and reprogrammed as part of one of his periodic ruses to humiliate Lois to teach her some asinine lesson via Superdickery.
I feel so bad for Lois in these comics. It sure is telling about what the writers thought about women and marriage and Superman.
but it makes for great stories.

They had no idea how "surrogates" were going to work in that day. (Reference to the Bruce Willis movie.) But then again, even when Beverly took over Alison in Eureka, she was laying on a force field bed looking at a (projected) screen rather than wearing 3d goggles, or in a Star Trek holosuite.

I just finished watching Smallville season 10 for the first time recently. Some of the Lois Lane getting possessed plot lines kinda reminds me of the Lois Lane stories in this era, lol. It's fun, but it's more modern, so they don't seem as absurd as it does in comics.
Ok, I now want an Elseworlds in which all the Lois weddings that aren't Superman are Canon...and just get his reaction to for her 30th or 50th wedding.
HILARIOUS! Truly brings out an example the silliness of DC's Silver Age. Thanks. And for the record, I prefer Lois marring Astounding Man, Batman ,Garbage Pick-Up Man, ANY MAN other than Big Blue. I think Wonder Woman would be a far better match and when he plays one of his tricks (like he does in the Silver Age) , it will not seem so unfair. Diana will just walk up to him and lay him out flat. I have this vision of Clark pelting Diana with a thousand snowballs using Kryptonian speed. One second he's walking away happily whistling, the next minute he's buried under a mound of snow (thanks to her lasso).

There is an issue in which Superman marries Lois and Lana BOTH in the same ceremony. Okay, it might be one of those Silver Age contrived twists....but it happened!! They both made beautiful brides, but of course Superman couldn't spring for a tux. The man can squeeze a lump of coal into a diamond, but he can't go to a Tux-R-Us place?
I do hope the "Lois marries....." playlist continues. It is indeed rich with contrivance, fantastic settings, Lois vanity and Lois obsession. I would love to list some of them, but I really don't want to spoil Sasha's thunder before she gets to them. Sasha spins them far better than I ever could.

Here is my question: if she got married this many times and some of them are technically cannon, is there alimony involved? Can you even expect alimony from superheros and supervillains? Do space courts have the same concepts related to alimony or would Lois owe these guys? Imagine a story arc where all the past husbands/fiancees come back and realize they have all been turned down by Lois. Supes would have quite a battle

While Lois certainly comes off as very shallow we have to remember that Silver Age DC comics were written for 12 to 14 year olds. As such they portray love is conceptualized as a 12 year old does, or rather how adults thought 12 year olds conceptualized marriage. This is why so much emphasis is placed on looks and strength as the measure for an ideal partner. And the "Lois gets married" trope is used so often because it was assumed that when a reader reached 14 years or so, they would move on for comics so that the new readers would start afresh and old plots could be recycled every few years.
