The only clone console available now at the Retro-Bit website is the Super Retro Trio, which plays NES, SNES and Genesis. It has connections for AV and HDMI, but no aspect ratio switch.
I just ordered a brand new Retro-Bit Retro Duo console for my girlfriend’s 6 year old grandson from EBay for $34 with free shipping. I wanted to know which brand that you recommend that I get for an extension cable for the Super Nintendo controller?
Approximately $200 gets you the Cyber Gadget Retro Freak. NES/Famicom/Genesis/Mega Drive/Pc Engine/all GB through GBA, and you can expand it to all 8 bit Sega. It's a rompler but you can use your carts and it has shader and scanline options. I have one and it's good enough for when i don't want to break out real hardware.
Sweet I've heard of this actually. Definitely the ultimate setup. This is great for a budget and if you're purely a nes snes person but for the more inclusive gamer that's certainly the best setup
@RetroGamingGuy I'm always for hardware alternatives, since old hardware is hard to get or getting old. So, as an all in one solution for carts and emulation, the Retro Freak is pretty good for an HDMI setup.
With similarly priced or cheaper emulation solutions, why buy this one? However, one of the very few that supports physical cartridges. They should offer an emulation cartridge to "round out" the set.
Using an adapter will introduce input latency. You would need something like a retrotink for optimal no latency to a new screen, otherwise the games will play like dog shit.
There are no games on board. It simply plays cartridges. If you have a massive library of cartridges, it might be worth it as a standby/backup way to play them. Otherwise it's a tough sell. It's definitely a niche product.
I like clone systems so I would definitely use this. The price of retro consoles are going up in price this adds more functionality
Awesome video
They probably wanted to keep it as retro as possible by not providing a HDMI socket. You have a very convenient 2-in-1 console!

I wish they would make a competitor to the Retron 5 already.
That looks cool

This video is 12 years late
60dollars...hmm its a thinker. If it truly has that top quality I envision, and ALL games, it sure makes me think about it.
