29:45 For future reference, you can actually look at the ceiling of the room to show you which direction the fog will allow you to go! Keep in mind that it won’t show you how to get to specific chests in the area though, only the proper way to progress the dungeon
Also fey sight will cause fog stairs to be revealed due to the torches going out. Both this and looking at the ceiling are clues learned by reading the tablets in the room.
Also, in the last dungeon with teleporting doors, the way the doors are linked is not random, there is a very simple logic: you are teleported to the nearest door straight behind you. So for example, if there are two door face to face, each one teleport to the other so they're useless. And to advance in the dungeon, you need to open a door such that there are no visible door behind your back (because that mean that when you teleport to the nearest door behind you, this door is in a new area).
If you're interested I do have a way on pc to remove the perks of having teammates altogether from the very beginning. It's what I used when doing mine
Really happy to see Metaphor challenge runs start to pop up. Persona challenge runs are always so entertaining for me to watch and after beating Metaphor I really believed that it had the potential to be equally fun to watch. Great run/video man!!
For the maze in Dragon Temple, if you look at the ceiling, you can see the path. For the teleporting doors in Skybound Avatar, you can see which door connects to which one by using Fea Sight (they always connect to the nearest parallel door). I applaud your patience. I played it on Normal and the game was a pain at some points then. Can't imagine doing it like this. Good job.
I haven't seen anyone give an answer as to why Elegy of the Soul will use Armageddon's Final Sire when you don't repel/null. It doesn't have anything to do with your party members in stock having that gear equipped. He follows a set rotation of archetypes of Seeker -> Warrior -> Knight -> Thief -> Masked Dancer -> Summoner -> Berserker -> Prince -> back to Seeker. Once he cycles to Prince the 3rd time, he will use Armageddon's Final Sire, so the fight is on a turn timer. If you have the skill that endures a lethal hit, he will continue to use Armageddon's Final Sire so there is no avoiding it.
The wording on concentrate and charge in this game is weird lol, you can also use it as many times as you want, its just it only works on one attack. Also with elegy of the soul you can wear the dragon rewards and not get one shot, you just cant have any repel items equipped
Unless I missed something I think you actually made the final fight harder for yourself. If you explore all the side paths in the final dungeon on the final day you refight tougher versions of old bosses and get endgame weapons, and if you do them all he doesn't get all those extra turns since you cutoff some of his power
For the Skybound Avatar you can scan to see where the doors are connected. Alternatively check the map to see which door doesnt have a door across from it

Even though it says charge and concentrate can only be used once per battle, they don't function like that at all. Only hero's cry is usable once per battle I believe
25:50 one useful thing is that all of the Archetypes have a bonus ability for the protagonist. Merchant gives a pile of bonus money when getting overworld wins. Mage line regens a bit of MP on stun or win in overworld, and Masked Dancer gives HP *and* MP.
@EldianDevilPlays same, once you get out of the first dungeons, MP Thief should let you recover MP better, and youre guaranteed to flee if you start the fight with advantage
@@furiouscorgi6614 Best thing is to just use thief once you get it and farm up Magic potions. Especially if you have butterflies who won't die in the over world, just attack them until they are stunned use dodge button to cancel ambush, wait until they recover and re-stun them. Ofc. this is doable already in the first area after Grius joins, it's just very tedious to farm em without guarantees, however by resetting the area you can farm 99x of the weak mp recovery item. I did farm some my first run, once in the mines there's some butterflies close to the first magla hollow... but since i did this while being bored in the demo, it felt less bad. But honestly, once you unlock faker and later trickster, you can just juggle/cirque most battles since you get a +Dmg for skills costing 0 dagger fairly early, impossible in a solo run, but yeah. One thing which is fairly doable however is to just abuse the elemental items, at least for the first half of the game you can get hold of massive amounts of them. For example In the cathedral the wolves drop fangs, which are 150 fire dmg to all, which is more effective then most attacks you can do at this point in the game... even more so in a solo run. Plenty of enemies are weak to fire skills early on so you get press turns for using them. So if you plan a solo run, just level up merchant and unlock the passives farm some money with the over world passive and go to the "only at night" shop in Grand Trad as early as possible then buy the dmg scrolls of each element. For the most part you can clear any "trash fight" by using even weak magic items, but to be fair it's only really "super effective" in the first major dungeon, dishing out 300 dmg(if solo) per turn to all enemies are just broken at this stage in the game. Honestly when i did my regicide run i avoided using end-game gear but i still had all of the magic potions i bought from the final shop, 99x 50 Mp recovery items just made everything feel so much smoother.
Damn this run completely changed my mind about the merchant. I always thought it was so ineffective and mediocre, but now I realize that it's cracked with all the crits you get.
Merchant and Tycoon are the most broken archetype in the game. They're the reason money is literally impossible to have trouble with, as early as second main dungeon.
@EldianDevilPlays I believe he confirmed that he isn't doing a solo run, he's doing a No Archetype (no idea if it's mods or just not using Archetype skills) run
Elegy of the Soul will use Armageddon if anyone in the active fight can repel an attack if any affinity resist and block are still ok to use during the fight, I also believe it has a turn limit but can’t confirm that
It's three cycles, 3rd time he activates prince he will just wipe you. I went into that fight on regicide doing a defensive setup, which just gave me instant regret... regardless how many Megaten games i play i always revert to playing defensively when i deep down know that the best defense is a effective offense.
So the reason some enemies takes less damage than others is because how damage is calculated in this game. So basicly if the enemy has a big level gap to you, you gonna deal less damage to them.
I think if you wanted to fully commit to the solo bit, someone could likely mod the game to cause all allies to have 0 HP at battle start, similar to what some Deus had done in P3R boss battles. I don't want to think too hard about how terrifying that would be for some fights.
