Great video work- thanks! As a former firefighter, I offer this critique in hope that we learn to do a better job. Fire generally doubles every 30 seconds. If you mask up enroute, that will allow you time to act quicker once on scene. You can see how long these ff’s took to make entry, and the one with the saw, ate a lot of smoke while cutting the bars. Big fire requires big water, big time. While the bars were being cut and lines being stretched, deck gun operation would knock down much of the visible fire and allow for a safer and easier entry. After they are masked, the nozzle can be passed to the masked crew while the other person masked up. Again, every second counts! FDNY achieves fast control using straight bore nozzles. 0:35 A neighbor with a garden hose is the only one who actually gives a damn about protecting the burning property.
0:45 This IDIOT is cutting that door open with no mask on for safe breathing and eye protection!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The video had to be edited because it took so long to get the saw working!
1:00 Do you have any idea how quickly that fire could have been extinguished? I'll tell you! Withing the first minute of arrival! As usual, that would have been before this video even started. see the guy in the red hat? Totally useless. In a complete daze. All he had to do is say, "Pull a hose over here and put this fire out!"
1:20 That should breathe really well now that the door is open. Anybody have a hose besides the neighbor?
2:00 Remember, this fire should have been OUT before the video even started.
2:10 What are they discussing, who's turn it is to get the donuts? Open the friggin nozzle and put the fire out!!!
2:30 There's another useless one in a red hat with no mask on!! These clowns can't put this out with two hoses! They are the Keystone Cops! They have no clue what to do! Everybody is STILL getting dressed!!! Don't they train at getting dressed?
3:00 And there they are getting off on the roof. Accomplishing nothing at all.
5:30 Inside with no masks on! Does anyone think to open that smoldering facia to stop what is burning in there? Don't they know that that fire is threatening the attic?
THOSE ARE YOUR HEROES, PEOPLE!
Let's provide some contrast to this muppet show: ua-cam.com/video/cDl9QLGgNEs/v-deo.html . Three floors fully involved, very narrow street, limited resources, yet they get water on the fire in no time, and the firefighter with the first line knocks most of the fire down while the other firefighters set up an interior attack. (And yes, I know, Sochi is in Russia, and the Russians are doing really nasty things to the Ukraine and the Ukrainians - but that's irrelevant here).
@@johanrebel It all goes to an individual person's work and responsibility ethic. Firefighters worldwide are overall better than USA fireplayers in every way. USA workers at that LOW level of the intelligence scale just don't give a damn. They figure if they Join Up, Dress Up and Show Up, they have done the job. Then the Ignorant public worship them for that reason only. Performance means nothing to any of them. And as far as the war, it's not the soldiers that are the problem or the actual threat.
Those that can, can. Those that can't, teach. Those that can do neither, like yourself, criticize those that do.
@@onthewater4189 Try telling me where and how I am wrong. I can actually do both, but ignorant and lazy people don't like to learn. Doing firefighting the right way isn't very exciting and is more like actual work than fun so nobody wants to listen. That's why 95% of USA departments are next to useless.
@@onthewater4189 How old are you, 6? If You know so much, how come you couldn't point out where and how I was wrong? None of your childish playmates can, maybe you could be the exception.
Slow very slow no sir

Great coverage and FD did a great job. Fantastic shots.
You need to ask yourself WHY you said the FD did a great job considering they couldn't have been more useless and irresponsible.
@@JB91710 OK battalion chief.
@@mgratk OK, useless one with nothing to offer.
Nah they did NOT for dozens of reasons. No masks inside smoke. No SCBAs inside smoke. Pacing around calling for water for minutes. Taking several minutes to just get a line to B side and charged. The guy with the garden hose was fighting more fire for quite a while. Starting a saw for the first time inside the smoke and not starting it clean then killing it or carrying it up. Zero accountability of people meandering around. I don’t know what FD you are a part of but this is definitely not a good example of coordinated fire attack or a well organized and trained dept.
What is it with American fire fighters they never seem any real hurry
The camera person and the neighbor with the garden hose could have put this fire out faster and more efficiently than the entire fire department.
I see you comment on so many videos and it is always something negative when you don’t know any of the circumstances. The video obviously started shortly after fd arrival and they had water at the front door in 2-3 minutes. How did they do a bad job please explain
@@danielmcguire2094 I would assume you have read all my other comments. Any more questions? if you do have more, than you have no clue anyway. Don't feel bad though, there is a Lot of that going around regarding firefighting.
@@JB91710 ? Still didn’t get an answer. I’m just asking you to back up your claim from this video
@@danielmcguire2094 You don't have to back up what you say or do with a license or certificate on the wall or decades of service in the profession. What you say and do is what it is. It either makes sense or it doesn't.
The FDNY is one of the worst departments on the planet. Are you going to believe what they say just because they are the most famous departments? If so, that makes you a first-rate hero-worshipping follower.
@@JB91710 I have a couple questions. For starters, what makes you think your time on a jolly volly house in bumfuck nowhere, doing absolutely nothing gives you such expertise? Oh, and also, my other question is why you're such a moron with a god complex?
