Hello, I started my channel a few days ago. I watched many videos that made me take it more strategically serious. When I create the next round of videos, I will put into practice what I learned from videos from this channel that were gold.
I've been on youtube since 2016 posting diy videos until I stopped liking making those types of videos and predominantly as an artist myself, I'm slowly trying to convert my channel into an art channel. Right now I'm just reposting my insta art reels on my channel on the weekend to get some confidence to post long format videos and figure out what it is that I want my channel to focus on. And I really loved your advice about posting 100 videos to understand what works best for the channel and get better data to configure that. Thanks for this video, it helps small artists like me.
Been on YT as an artist for about 2 years now (not very consistent though) and my channel is slowly starting to pick up now. One subscriber at a time. It feels so good. and watching your video has got me motivated to keep going. Thank you!

I always wanted to start an art channel but honestly I recorded some of my painting progresses and I found that I felt so conscious of every movement I made, and when I forgot about the camera, I ended up blocking the painting with my hand (or head) 😬 I think I’ll stick to my travel channel (although that’s not going great either hahah). I’m just going to keep plodding on and hope for the best 😂 Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience 💕

I just started my youtube and in a way it is really validating seeing how you started off slow and was small for your first year. Everytime i search for youtube videos it’s alway “do this for a billion follows!!” And “your channel not getting views is horrible” and seeing someone who i like starting off slow is so heart warming for me atm. ♥️
I only found you a couple weeks ago! Love your straightforward, no nonsense but snarky and friendly personality! Very refreshing! I am working on my art career myself, having started it in my 40s with 2 young kids. This social media stuff is crazy! My artwork best lends to short videos (reels, shorts, TikTok), and it took so long to figure it all out. Still have so much to learn! I applaud your informative videos and you deserve all your successes and more!
Just gotta say I'm proud of you for getting confident in front of the camera, I remember your first videos (as a lurker) you were technically fluid but your voice tended to break a bit. But now you sound a lot more confident and you can maintain eye contact with the lenses, keep at it:)

I'm one of those people that's found you only recently and I've really been appreciating your practical advice and insights, as well as your beautiful art. Some of your talking-head type videos feature you getting excited and even out of breath, and while I love that you're passionate, there's been a few times I've stopped any other actions I might have been doing to make sure you weren't about to burst into tears! I had the opposite experience in 2020 🥴 my channel was growing and growing (got 1.5k subs) but the pandemic really messed with my motivation and I fell off. Recently I’ve been feeling the bug again and your videos are helping motivate me!
I made my first and only posted video in February talking about my amateur art journey and experience with chronic illness...I made two more videos and never posted them out of fear haha, I think this is my sign to start trying this again!! Thank you so much, this was extremely encouraging to listen to and I really appreciated everything you shared! I love your art and your thoughts!!

Love the analogy of slowing or amping growth. It's really interesting conceptually to think about doubling down or pulling back, harping on things that are working, etc...All based on goals. Really insightful and helpful video!

I'd like to focus more on just doing "Art n Chats" just talking about life as an artist over a speedpaint. Hearing your journey really means a lot. Thanks for the tips. I've had some fits and starts over the year. The best tool I've found to stay consistent has been using some of my videos (esp live streams) to be accountable to myself to be productive in my studio while also doing my best to provide value to any audience I can get. Co-working live paint and chats have been fun!

This has helped me so much. I've always wanted to have a channel and grew up wstching others become very successful. I'm nowhere near in a lot of skills or supplies (my camera is okay quality) and i do not have as much educational information as others or such but not letting that stop me. I'm workign with what I have got for a stsrt and grow with the channel! Definitely will focus on the marketing side

i knew how much work filming and editing is, but what i wasn't prepared for is how much ease of editing depends on hardware. As a person in a 2nd world country i can say that it's not particularly easy to get ones hands on a decent pc here, so all of my editing is done on a pretty weak laptop and the struggle is so real! What should realistically take ten seconds to do (cut a very small part of a video, for example) takes two minutes on a weak laptop because it can't render the video fast enough to know where you're cutting, which means going back and forth plus a lot of guess work.

But getting to one hundred thousand subscribers takes a ton of hard work and much more than a little luck !!lol I just looked it up and ONLY 0.28% of all channels ever get to one hundred thousand and sooo early congratulations to you since you’re almost there!! it really does make a huge difference!! if the video quality looks like you're recording on a webcam from 2007 through a fishbowl there's only so much you can do, every bit of quality increase helps you stand out from the crowd

Lol. I'm 41.. time management. Where oh, where did you go. it's amazing how much I would get done back in highschool and few years after graduation. Now.. why? It's almost like I need a personal time manager. Great job at it.
I havent seriously been trying to grow my channel for very long, but I have noticed a positive difference in the last 6 months of me trying a bit harder with the channel. but even so i try not to pay too much attention to numbers due to trying to spend more time creating and not wanting to become too focused on what the numbers say.

I know this video has been posted a year ago so I am very late in commenting. But I just wanted to say, I follow your art videos and you are a very amazing person. This video is helping me grow as my own art channel and learn tips and tricks. I am still a very small channel, only 710 subs, and still using my phone to record videos. But definitely saving up for a camera. However the lack of views in my work lately.. lack of gains is really starting to get to me and I have hit that wall of "is this worth it... should I go back to hiding my art from the world again" and the most loud voice of "you should just quit youtube" is really starting to get to me.. my highest views in the last two weeks has been 178 views.. and no rewatches.. have you ever got to that point in your youtbe journey and with your art? And if you have what are some tips or things you did to over come them? I have tried everything... at this point and really looking for help..
If that helps at all, I felt like switching to watch another vid on 11 min mark, that's probably the longest I can personally watch 👀🌻 first time on your channel and watched 2 vids in a row, mainly bec I like art and considering starring a YT channel, also a female 18-35 yo 😁🌹 best of luck with your artistic journey, found your content concise and inspiring, put me back in a "I can do this" mood 💫

Ahhh this was SO HELPFUL!! Growth can be sO pAInStAkInG, and I do occasionally get discouraged when looking at my analytics. But I always try to remember that growth takes time and is ALWAYS worth it in the end. You’re such an inspiring artist, and it’s been such a joy to see you grow! 💛

Thanks for the tips. I've had some fits and starts over the year. The best tool I've found to stay consistent has been using some of my videos (esp live streams) to be accountable to myself to be productive in my studio while also doing my best to provide value to any audience I can get. Co-working live paint and chats have been fun!

This has helped me so much. I've always wanted to have a channel and grew up wstching others become very successful. I'm nowhere near in a lot of skills or supplies (my camera is okay quality) and i do not have as much educational information as others or such but not letting that stop me. I'm workign with what I have got for a stsrt and grow with the channel! Definitely will focus on the marketing side

i knew how much work filming and editing is, but what i wasn't prepared for is how much ease of editing depends on hardware. As a person in a 2nd world country i can say that it's not particularly easy to get ones hands on a decent pc here, so all of my editing is done on a pretty weak laptop and the struggle is so real! What should realistically take ten seconds to do (cut a very small part of a video, for example) takes two minutes on a weak laptop because it can't render the video fast enough to know where you're cutting, which means going back and forth plus a lot of guess work.

@@KelseyRodriguez Lol. I really think it’s a combo of work and luck but more on the luck side because I have a YT friend who’s an expert about YT and he has not grown his channel to anywhere near one hundred thousand in 2 years and he really knows EVERYTHING about growing on YT. Lol

it really does make a huge difference!! if the video quality looks like you're recording on a webcam from 2007 through a fishbowl there's only so much you can do, every bit of quality increase helps you stand out from the crowd

I havent seriously been trying to grow my channel for very long, but I have noticed a positive difference in the last 6 months of me trying a bit harder with the channel. but even so i try not to pay too much attention to numbers due to trying to spend more time creating and not wanting to become too focused on what the numbers say.

I know this video has been posted a year ago so I am very late in commenting. But I just wanted to say, I follow your art videos and you are a very amazing person. This video is helping me grow as my own art channel and learn tips and tricks. I am still a very small channel, only 710 subs, and still using my phone to record videos. But definitely saving up for a camera. However the lack of views in my work lately.. lack of gains is really starting to get to me and I have hit that wall of "is this worth it... should I go back to hiding my art from the world again" and the most loud voice of "you should just quit youtube" is really starting to get to me.. my highest views in the last two weeks has been 178 views.. and no rewatches.. have you ever got to that point in your youtbe journey and with your art? And if you have what are some tips or things you did to over come them? I have tried everything... at this point and really looking for help..
