Hi!! Great video!! I was wondering if you could make a video where explains the different material used in sportswear and going in detail about the difference at the touch, or the stretch, or the durability! Also what can we expect from an activewear garment that features a more percentage of one material compared to another? Thank you!
I've been making my own clothes since Jr High. Primarily "nylon lycra/elastane/spandex" & other "athletic" fabrics. The abrasion resistance & longevity of NYLON BLEND fabrics can't be beat in my experience. I've listed a few fabrics below w/a quick how they pill tidbit since that's what most people wonder about. ***These are just my experiences w/these fabrics during my 20+ years making & wearing my own clothes out of them*** •NYLON lycra/spandex/elastane - RARELY PILLS & if it does, it's minimal & takes a long time to reach that point. •POLYAMIDE lycra/spandex/elastane - almost always PILLS, especially where there's friction, pretty quickly & it's not minimal. •POLYESTER lycra/spandex/elastane - always PILLS, especially where there's friction, a lot & quickly. •RAYON/MODAL lycra/spandex/elastane - always PILLS, especially where there's friction, a lot & quickly.
I absolutely love the way this man explains things he takes complicated subjects and makes them extremely understandable to the lay person throug his great comparison and analogies. Really enjoyed listening to him if all College professors could illustrate and relate subject material the way he does I would have been another Einstein. Love you
But why does nylon feel different than polyamide if they’re the same material? And is elastane not the same as spandex? I have leggings that are made with a nylon/spandex blend and leggings with a polyamide/elastine blend and they feel significantly different. Trying to wrap my head around this lol
Hello. Would 90% polyamide 10% Elastane leggings be a good choice for cold water? (Neoperene is very expensive here) (used in wetsuits) i am looking for an alternative to Neoperene.
Interesting Vid' I like the 1980's nylon sports shorts but they are rare these days. There are some polyester shorts that are nice thin shiny material, but not available everywhere. By the way.. nice fitting jeans in the vid' what make are they ?
Hey Shadi, your videos are the best! I am almost done going through each of them. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! I would like to ask you to eventually make a video talking about main differences of Running and Training garments. I see a lot of brands differentiating their ranges in stores but technically, are they really that different? I mean, there are a lot of obvious key points for running that we don't need for training such as reflective details, anti-chaffing... but I was hoping you could go highly technical to explain the difference of garments/fabrics for both activities. Thank you again and keep up the great work!
Hi, amazing videos. Could you please make a video on different mixes of fabrics like cotton nylon mix.. explain and give more information on the types available. Thank you
Have you any idea how hard it is becoming, to find clothing with 100% natural materials... it is a nightmare for both the planet and my skin. Human beings are not supposed to be dressed in plastic.
There's a lot of things humans are suppose to be doing in this modern world, but we still do it. If you want to go back to living naturally like were suppose to, go live in the wild with no clothes.
Good talk. As for repeating patterns relating to chemical analysis we find this in every substance how ever the prefix "POLY" relates to many so say Water "H2O with a repeating pattern of 2 hydrogen molecules and one Oxygen molecule is made of 2 things so not suited to POLY being a Duet. If you introduces Carbon with its 4 bonds if we make C2H4O2 a type of polymer which is an acid. I came up with the formula Google came up with the answer, Thanks Google. I don't know it all yet am pleased to learn and have done here. Bottom line, some words sound good and their for are great to promote products so although Polyamide sounds futurist for as long as there has been Sea Water there has been a Polyamide. Nice one, 139th like is from me. Cheers to wonderful world peace. Charlie comment 14 , 9th of January 2021, 1 leap-year 30 days into the apocalypse. 12:16 PM UK

I appreciate that!
It's like saying: we put veggies in to potato salad and having potatoes specifically in mind. Why not just call it a nylon?
My assignments are really grateful for these videos. These are gold!
Glad to hear you’re benefiting from the videos Stefanie! 🙏🏼 Thank you for taking the time to tune in and leave some feedback

Hi may i know how different are there?
So, if you want to make polyamide (nylon) more "stretchable" you would "add" spandex to it?
:-] Thank you for DETAILED - REAL TIME - NO ADS UNFILTERED REVIEW!!!
What fabric are those products in the background made of, Especially the blue one?
Just came in here to say that Nylon is a polyamide, and within nylon there different types as well. The title is misleading.
Polyamide verses polyester?

Can I successfully dye a Polyamide Jacket ?
Thank you for the information!
Hello, can polyamide be used in sublimation projects, such as sublimating on tights that is 80 denier, 85% polyamide and 15% spandex

are polyamids waterproof? compare to cotton
If I left my nylon Nike jacket in the dryer too long and it got scrunched up on a piece of it how can I fix it?
Goodluck, I’m sure on nylon care directions it days to air dry most of them.
which is generic name for labeling, polyamide or nylon?
3yrs old video in 720p ???
hello can ask you? the best softwar to create a automatic tech pack ?
Browzwear
So there’s no actual difference when clothing is labelled polyamide and nylon?
Nylon is a type of polyamide but polyamide may not necessarily be nylon. Polyamide is an umbrella term.
@@han-jm5mt thanks 🙏
