I genuinely never thought of fabric when working out. I mean, I have in the sense of lightweight or tight vs oversized clothes, but not just cotton vs polyester. Thanks for educating us! Going to pay attention today my workout in cotton vs poly

I like my activewear in 100 polyesters most of the time. If it's freezing, I prefer a cotton-polyester blend hoodie over a workout shirt and cotton-polyester blend sweat pants.

I'm not that keen on wrapping my body in plastic, especially when I'm sweating, getting hot and/or being in the sun. So although there are some cons with cotton for activewear I'l always be choosing something natural every time

I will admit, I'm not into sportswear, and on top of that a self confessed devotee to the time honored classic that cotton is! I thought I would completely disagree with this whole video. After watching I was very impressed and learnt a lot (subscribed of course!) I'll still be sticking with natural fibres for my work! however anyone who is serious about garment design should be watching this channel! great work

It's the bacteria. They produce smelly compounds.
Polyester fabrics provide an especially good environment for certain species of bacteria to reproduce. They happen to be the same species that are responsible for the characteristic odors of rotting carcasses.
So when people say, about smelly polyester clothing, "It smells like something died," they are correct. It's the same types of bacteria and they are producing the same compounds.

Polyester fabric is airtight, but durable and sunscreen. Pure cotton fabric is breathable and comfortable, but it is not wearable and easy to pilling. It has its own merits. I prefer mixed materials, just as many big brands use mixed materials to make clothes, such as CK, Tommy and smaconsum

I find that polyester feels great when you first buy it, but over time it does break down and it starts to feel itchy. I have never had that issue with cotton. That said, I choose the fabric based on what I'll use it for. There are also 50-50 cotton/poly blends out there that seem to work out pretty well for a lot of things.

Though my primary underwear is neither. Look up underwear that is made of model. (Pronounced like "mowdal") Most comfortable underwear that I have ever had. It has some of the compression (without to much) of poly, but is vastly more comfortable than cotton. Tends to be much more expensive too. Always cotton. It feels better, looks better, and is no where near as bad for the environment.
